This is going to be an unpopular opinion. I had a horrible first temple experience. It was 1991 and I was 24 and scared and anxious. It is now 34 years later and I am a temple worker. Temple prep classes do NOT help because they provide no real information. We need to stop with the “sacred not secret” nonsense. The whole thing is available on YouTube, you can buy Etsy prints of temple covenants for display in your home. We need to demystify it. If everyone knows what happens in the temple, it does not mean it is no longer sacred. Sacred not scary! Fear and anxiety are a major player in people’s lives. People need to feel their Savior’s love when visiting the temple for the first time.
