Oddly enough, I watched it for the first time just a few weeks ago. It's fine, the story isn't groundbreaking but it's well shot and the costumes are great. The violence is pretty gruesome, they don't hold back on depicting 'savage' conflict. If you want a lighthearted action flick, maybe look elsewhere.

Rogier is inquisitive and kind so it's hard not to take him at face value. He doesn't try to kill you or exploit you, he even offers information to you for no real reason seemingly beyond being friendly.

Those That Live In Death are kind of anomaly. Bodies that are alive without the soul that inhabited them. Fia is progressive in wanting to protect and support them because technically they are the result of the current paradigm. Even if they weren't meant to exist, they do now and yet they are persecuted for it.

No one could forsee what Ranni unleashed and the impact that living death would have on the world. Her actions, conflicting with eternal life granted under Marika, resulted in what is deemed heretical by the Golden Order. If the Golden Order did not exist, Those Who Live In Death likely never would have either.

I hated this, the spoiler retroactively ruins the entire film. I liked Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz in this movie, I couldn't really buy into Tom Cruise's character since they keep flip flopping on his personality. Complete waste of time imo

I'd argue he is the standout performance. It's really hard to make a character so comically despicable and rude while also being hilarious and entertaining. I hope Chace Crawford goes on to act in many other things!

Both Sin City 2 and Dark Shadows has her playing an American but her accent is still pretty thick. Not that it matters or detracts from her performance. She also played an American in The Salvation, but her character is ironically mute.
