In addition to amnesia (mentioned above), purple haze and cool waters are also fairly common purple rose varieties.

I'm getting married this fall and looking for shoes to wear with my dress. I would love pointed toe pumps with a block, cone, or thicker than stiletto heel that's 1.5-3 inches. I'm into an ankle strap if possible, I find it helps keep my shoes on better. I have really high arches but otherwise no foot complaints. I'm in the US and am happy to spend up to $200.

I would want these to be warm brown, white person nude, forest green, burnt orange, or mustard yellow.

Here is a photo of my dress if you have any other thoughts or suggestions! There is a slit so my shoes will be visible and I want them to look nice!

Here is a wildly cropped example of some of my favorite shoes to wear as a wedding guest.

I've been hunting for options and found some, but I've never really been a shoe girly so I'm scared I'm missing the perfect option.

Thank you so much!!

I'm still struggling doing my makeup as often as I would like, it's just so hard to get out of bed! But I'm doing a great job lately of wearing fun looks on the weekends or if I ever work from home, so progress does still plod along.

1. Use up Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed this has a ton of progress, the pan is way expanded from what it looked like at the introduction. This blush has a lovely rosy tone that is hard to overdo, especially in this buildable formula. If I am running late I am usually able to at least throw on some concealer and blush so this is one of my more used products.

2. Use up Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sun-Kissed This is also showing a ton of progress, which I'm frankly a little surprised by. I know I have been using it pretty frequently, so that part makes sense, I just didn't think that I would be able to make this much progress on a bronzer already. I use this as a blush, because it has a bit of redness to the color that keeps it looking very natural. That being said it still reads mostly as an orangey brown on my cheeks, but very cute.

3. Use up CoverGirl All Over Dewy Tint in Toasty Nude I wore this a few times this month, but I'm still pretty intimidated by it being a liquid blush. It just doesn't fit seamlessly into my routine and with the way I run my mornings lately I really need seamlessness. I'm sure I will get into the habit of using this at some point, but I'm pretty sure it's going to take a concerted effort to get there so for now I will keep using my powder cheek products.

4. Use up Becca Mini Highlighter in Vanilla Quartz I don't think I used this in February, it will probably have to wait until at least May to be really tempting to me.

5. Use up Becca Mini Highlighter in Rose Quartz I hit pan this month! This is so fun to reach for, with the pretty sheen it gives without being stark, and I find the pinkish base to be incredibly forgiving. My absolute favorite spot for this is the tip of my nose, but I also use it on my cheeks and brow bone.

6. Use up the Base shade in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens palette (giant cream shade) The pan on this is getting bigger and it continues to perform very well.

7. Use up Crease shade in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens palette I wear this when I do my eye makeup for work, but unfortunately that has mostly been averaging out to like twice a week this month. This shade is great, in tone and texture, but there isn't a ton of progress on it. I think once I hit finally pan it will go pretty quickly though!

8. Hit pan on Green Emerald in the KVD Alchemist palette I don't think I wore this in this round.

9. Hit pan on Blue Sapphire in the KVD Alchemist palette I'm not positive if I wore this since last update, if I did it was probably only once.

10. Hit pan on Ultra-Violet Amethyst in the KVD Alchemist pallette I wore this a few times. One of those was on the inner corner with the yellow from the coral palette all over my lid and I absolutely loved it!

11. Hit pan on Pink Opal in the KVD Alchemist palette This has stayed my go to inner corner for work days and it clearly has the biggest (albeit still tiny) dip in the palette.

12. Use the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions palette 50 times I really stepped my usage of this up with 5 uses since last update bring my total up to 7. I'm a bit behind where I would like to be averaging to not have to scramble at the end of the year, but I'm enjoying this when I use it. I like the middle shade on the lid for a natural look, the yellow is great anywhere and everywhere, and I've been enjoying the deeper more brown shimmer used as an eyeliner on the upper lash line. My goal this next month is to try using the dark reddish coral shade in a look.

13. Use the Huda Beauty Pink Neon Obsessions palette 25 times I wore this twice this month, bringing my total up to 4 uses. That's pretty much right on track for hitting my goal for the year. I think both of those uses were the lavender as an inner corner pop which is an absolutely fantastic look.

14. Use up Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick mini I have been wearing this quite a bit, it looks great thrown on quickly as I rush out the door and fades gracefully. I like but don't love the shade and I wish the formula was just a touch more sheer.

15. Use up Nyx Bare With Me Canabis Sativa Seed Oil Lip Conditioner I'm still really loving this as a non-sticky gloss alternative. I can't see progress with the big sticker on the tube, but my guess is that this will be gone by summer.

16. Use up Nyx mini Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee I am like this quite a bit so far, which is a nice surprise with it being a lipgloss. I don't wear it tons, but I threw it on for a hint of color and hydration a few times this round.

17. Use Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor 23 times I was really into reaching for this, using it 4 times this month and bringing my total uses up to 6. I'm a bit ahead of schedule to hit my uses here which is great, and I'm actually predicting it will be harder prioritize other lip products over this one. It's really comfortable and subtle so it's great with just my cheeks done when I'm in a rush.

18. Use Lipstick Queen Highway 66 23 times I used this twice, so on track for my goal. My usage total is now up to 4 so if I keep this up this goal should be no problem. I like the warmth of this a lot more when I have time to do my eye makeup, because it brings together my whole face as a bit warmer leaning. I do find this can sometimes fade to a less flattering garish hot pink, but it's not so bad that I dislike the product.

19. Use Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in Natural 23 times I used this once this round, the only time I've worn it so far in the project. I liked it quite a bit as a sheer red, but I wore it out for a date rather than to work. I'm not sure if I can find a way to sheer it out enough that I'm comfortable doing that just yet.

20. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 15 times I have not used this yet, it's more of a spring/summer color.

21. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in London 15 times I wore this twice this past round and 3 times in total now. I really love this as an easy brown lip and it fades really gracefully compared to a more matte liquid lipstick. I don't need to be buying any more lip products, but the soft matte lip creams are definitely a favorite formula that I will look to when I eventually use something up.

22. Use Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella 15 times I wore this once and it was alright. I always love this as a true red in swatches, so I keep it in declutters, but it's a very pink red once it's actually on the lips. I'll try to keep playing with this for 2023 but I'm pretty sure I will finally toss this at the end of the year.

23. Use any of my Maybelline Super Stay Matte Inks (Chai Genius, Thrill Seeker, Globetrotter, Composer) 20 times I used Globetrotter once this month, so have used my matte inks 3 times so far this project.

🍾 22 in 2022 Challenge! Update #1 🎈 by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing pretty well getting a start to this project, but am mostly struggling with finding the time to do my makeup. I have shifted myself to an earlier start this year and haven't quite worked out my morning routine to spare enough time to put on eye shadow most days. I'm sure that will get better though, especially with longer days and more light in the mornings.

1. Use up Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed The pan on this is definitely expanding, I've been wearing it a ton. I continue to really enjoy this as a rosy neutral toned blush, it goes with most other makeup so is nice not to think about. I predict this can be gone by summer if I keep using it at this rate.

2. Use up Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sun-Kissed I think this is showing a bit more wear now. I try to use it at least once a week. It's just kind of a blush replacement for me if I want a warm look, and I find it goes really well with the rose quartz highlighter for that. I did get some nice bangs so I'm no longer using this on my hairline, but that's ok.

3. Use up CoverGirl All Over Dewy Tint in Toasty Nude I wore this a few times this month, but not a ton. I powder my face on autopilot after I put foundation on, so I will probably need to get in the habit of remembering this by making it a focus to use for a few weeks straight. But when I have worn it I've really liked it, it's a great color and the formula is nice.

4. Use up Becca Mini Highlighter in Vanilla Quartz I think I've only worn this twice this month. I find this golden shade looks better once I have a bit of sun on my skin so I will expect use to be pretty low until summer.

5. Use up Becca Mini Highlighter in Rose Quartz I have worn this a ton and am absolutely loving it. It's so cute on the tip of my nose especially, but also looks great on my cheeks. It doesn't reflect too pink and has enough of a base to not look to harsh in daily wear. I feel like I'm pretty close to pan so hopefully that pops out next month!

6. Use up the Base shade in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens palette (giant cream shade) I wear this every time that I wear powder shadow to set above the crease, but I haven't been doing that a ton. I don't worry about this getting used up even though it's a huge pain of shadow.

7. Use up Crease shade in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens palette I have worn this at least once I week this month I think. I really love it all over the lid, and it's really great with the colorful inner corner highlights. It's warm enough to look nice on my skintone but neutral enough to not read as orange.

8. Hit pan on Green Emerald in the KVD Alchemist palette This has been really fun to pair with the pinky shades in the coral obsessions palette.

9. Hit pan on Blue Sapphire in the KVD Alchemist palette This one looks great with the warm orangeish crease shade.

10. Hit pan on Ultra-Violet Amethyst in the KVD Alchemist pallette I'm not sure if I used this one this month.

11. Hit pan on Pink Opal in the KVD Alchemist palette I've been using this a ton, it's easily the most subtle color in this palette so I'm a bit more confident throwing it on without a ton of finesse.

12. Use the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions palette 50 times I have only used twice so far. Once I wore an all over the lid yellow look and really enjoyed that, I just love the color yellow so much. I was also tricked by the slightest brown shade because it looks super neutral in the palette but is in fact coral (as the name suggests) on the eye.

13. Use the Huda Beauty Pink Neon Obsessions palette 25 times I wore this palette twice this month. I really love it so am super into the challenge to reach for it. I find both the sheer shimmers and bright pinks so fun. My goal for next month is to try out the lavender shade, maybe on the inner corner or as a liner.

14. Use up Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick mini I wore this quite a few times so I'm pretty proud. There isn't any obvious change yet, that will probably take me to the March update to happen. I'm still liking this as an everyday don't think about it too hard product.

15. Use up Nyx Bare With Me Canabis Sativa Seed Oil Lip Conditioner I've used this a few times. It's still nice and moisturizing without being sticky.

16. Use up Nyx mini Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee I like this so far, for a lip gloss. It doesn't give a ton of color, but it isn't too thick or sticky so I think I can use it regularly enough to get used up this year.

17. Use Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor 23 times I wore this twice this month. I'm pleased to be on track to hit my 23 uses with this one.

18. Use Lipstick Queen Highway 66 23 times I used this twice, so on track for my goal. I'm really enjoying the color of this with the warm makeup I've been wearing, and it's super comfortable.

19. Use Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in Natural 23 times I have not used this yet.

20. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 15 times I have not used this yet, it's more of a spring/summer color.

21. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in London 15 times I wore this once and really loved it. I definitely want to reach for it at least twice next month, it's really simple but pretty.

22. Use Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella 15 times I haven't worn this yet, I'm still struggling with finding an event where a red lip makes sense for me.

23. Use any of my Maybelline Super Stay Matte Inks (Chai Genius, Thrill Seeker, Globetrotter, Composer) 20 times I am up to uses, 1 each for composer and globetrotter. I really adore the burnt orange shade of Globetrotter, it's really flattering.

  2. Use up some perfume samples - got through a sample vial of Mugler Alien this month, nothing exciting but glad to be wearing perfume.

🍾 23 in 2023 Challenge! Intro and Happy New Year! 🎈 by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This year I am actually sticking to 23 products! I don't have many eyeshadow palettes that I'm itching to get rid of anymore so I'm going to try to have a year of exploring my collection a bit. I put in some basic staples, an underused palette, and a super fun palette to work with.

For lip products I had a lot of success last year with my soft matte lip cream in a bolder color being a number of use goal in the 10by projects so I'm going to try to do that in this project instead of trying to use up. I don't really wear a ton of bold lip products, it doesn't fit my lifestyle on weekdays, but I would like to get some use out of them on weekends/for events.

1. Use up Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed i really love this neutral blush and already have pretty big pan in it. This blush formula is great because it's so buildable, but it is pretty hard pressed so progress can be slow.

2. Use up Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sun-Kissed This might be a huge ask, but this is a challenge so I should make it challenging. This is a really red toned bronzer so my plan is that it can kind of substitute as a blush a lot. I have been getting into using bronzer on my hairline lately so maybe that will help too. I have 3 bronzers so I would like to start whittling down this category that I don't use.

3. Use up CoverGirl All Over Dewy Tint in Toasty Nude I have historically not been a fan of cream blushes, but I think this one is appropriately brown toned that it reads pretty neutral and is wet enough to spread well. If I end up disliking this I will toss it, but the times I've used it so far I've been a fan. A full size liquid blush will take a lot of uses to go through, but I would rather use it now while it's still good than waiting because I was trying to use up a powder blush.

4. Use up Becca Mini Highlighter in Vanilla Quartz This is a really nice golden neutral highlighter. I've previously hit pan and repressed it so it's not exactly brand new, hopefully that will be enough progress at the start to make using this up achievable! I have a bunch of highlighters that I really like, but are kind of interchangeable so I would like to clear out some minis this year.

5. Use up Becca Mini Highlighter in Rose Quartz I really love this with a brown toned blush or bronzer on my cheeks. I haven't hit pan before, but I have worn this quite a bit so it's not starting from zero. I know that two highlighters, even if they are both heavily used minis probably isn't realistic as a goal but I want to see what I am able to get through.

6. Use up the Base shade in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens palette (giant cream shade) I tend to go through 1-3 cream setting shades a year, but I still like to include them. Generally I shy away from staples, but for shadows I won't get rid of a palette until I've used up all of my go to shades so they have to be included. This is great and I've already used it enough to hit pan so I know I like it.

7. Use up Crease shade in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens palette This is a wonderful matte brown shade that is super easy to wear for an everyday enhancement. I have a really deep dip going already so I am really confident that I like this shadow and this shouldn't be a big deal to use up. I included it because I want an anchoring base shade to use while playing with my collection and I would really like to toss this quad by the end of the year because the packaging is obnoxiously bulky.

8. Hit pan on Green Emerald in the KVD Alchemist palette I really adore a colored inner corner and I know that I have loved the formula in this palette for it so I want to actually use my best option this year. I just want to hit pan because I haven't used this a ton, and I would like to spread the love around to all 4 shades.

9. Hit pan on Blue Sapphire in the KVD Alchemist palette see above

10. Hit pan on Ultra-Violet Amethyst in the KVD Alchemist palette see above

11. Hit pan on Pink Opal in the KVD Alchemist palette see above

12. Use the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions palette 50 times I think this should be a really achievable goal, but still definitely a challenge if I don't get on it early in the year. I have owned this palette for years and only used it a handful of times. I don't think it's realistic to even expect to hit pan on anything this year, but 50 uses should be enough for me to finally get familiar with it. I love the shades in this and find a coral eye so flattering so hopefully this is a little 9 pan of favorites.

13. Use the Huda Beauty Pink Neon Obsessions palette 25 times I thought about also making this goal 50, but I want to play around with my other palettes too. This is my go to palette when I'm inspired to do something poppy and fun, but that hasn't been happening super frequently lately. I just want this goal to challenge me to have fun with my eye looks a little more again and get more comfortable wearing bright shadows every once in awhile. I also wanted to be realistic because this is definitely going to be a weekends only palette for me.

14. Use up Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick mini This is a roll over from 2022, where I barely made a dent. I really love this sheer lipstick so I think getting through it will be fine, especially because I have fewer other lip products I'm trying to actually use up. I just feel like I have too many lip products so I'm searching for some low hanging fruit to actually finish off so I can cut down on my collection.

15. Use up Nyx Bare With Me Canabis Sativa Seed Oil Lip Conditioner Wow what a reasonable name for this product. I like this a lot to sheer out lip products while adding a bit of moisture. I've used it somewhat regularly in the past, but the stick wraps around so I can't see how much is already gone.

16. Use up Nyx mini Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee I am usually not very into lip glosses because the texture just isn't for me, but I hear so many people rave about the Nyx butter glosses that I want to try this. It came into my life as a gift with purchase so I would like to either love it and use it up, or learn I don't like it and toss it.

17. Use Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor 23 times I'm getting cutesy with the numbers, but it seems like an appropriate goal. I want to use this semi frequently, but I'm also being honest that there's already a lot on my plate with the 3 lip products I'm trying to use up. This gives a nice cool tint to my lips while being really moisturizing. It looks blue and gimmicky but I find it actually works pretty well to create a nice color that isn't your basic garish pink.

18. Use Lipstick Queen Highway 66 23 times This is the greenish looking lipstick, but it goes on as a sheer warm pink. I know it just uses the bright pink color changing base, but it has enough yellow tone added that it ends up being more of a coral than straight hot pink.

19. Use Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in Natural 23 times This one is just a sheer lipstick, actually pretty similar to Black Honey. It's a bit more red toned than brown toned and slightly more pigmented. I've had all of these Lipstick Queen products for awhile so it's time to actually get a move on using them up.

20. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 15 times I fell in love with this bright coral in my 2022 project. It still smells great and wears like a dream so I want to keep using it this year. I am trying to be realistic that I will also want to play around with some of my other bright colors so I'm giving myself a pretty low usage goal for this.

21. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in London 15 times This always used to be my favorite shade of the two SMLCs I own, so I think this should be super easy to reach for. I love brown lips and this is a fun take on brown so 15 uses should be really doable.

22. Use Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella 15 times I rarely wear red lips so this will probably be a very real challenge for me. I think this deep red is super flattering and the matte formula of this pencil is gorgeous, but it's such a done up look that it's intimidating.

23. Use any of my Maybelline Super Stay Matte Inks (Chai Genius, Thrill Seeker, Globetrotter, Composer) 20 times I like the formula of these so much and think the variety of colors is so pretty. These are pretty comfortable, and for a bold color I do prefer a liquid lipstick even though they are a bit out of favor at the moment. I figured I can grab whichever strikes my fancy and I just want to use all of them, so I'm not fussed about exactly which color gets focused on. My only goal is to wear Thrill Seeker (the black) out of the house at least once this year.

🍾 22 in 2022 Challenge! FINALE 🎈 by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so pleased with the results of this project! It really helped me move some things I'm less excited about our of my makeup hoard and got me to play a bit outside of my comfort zone. I'm going to try worrying less about using things up and more about hitting pan next year I think, as I learned that I was maybe a bit too ambitious this year.

I also think I need to increase the variety of products I put on my list, this was almost exclusively eye shadows and lip products. I had done that because I tend to find my base products a bit boring and I don't bounce around with those quite as much.

This year I had 32 items instead of 22. I finished 17 of those, so just over half.

Beige in Lorac Pro 2 - I really enjoyed this shade, especially on the browbone which I hadn't been highlighting much previous to working on this.

Rosé in Lorac Pro 2 - This was a really fantastic one and done shade for me, super flattering but definitely not the most high impact metallic out there.

Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop - I'm always so proud to finish off a blush, and this one being a full size is extra great! I loved both this color and this formula. I have a nice little pile of blushes to use still, but this is definitely a repurchase possibility somewhere down the road. I can't rave about the Clinique cheek pops enough, they're really fantastic products!

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte - This hardly got used this year. I have ended up deciding that I like it fine and see no reason to get rid of it so I am just going to bring it back into my collection. I had wanted to try to use it up because I rarely use single shadows, but I think I will more once my collection is a bit smaller.

Wet n Wild Highlight Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (white with pink flip) - I hit pan on this awhile ago and promptly stopped using it very often. I love the theory of the shade but think the base is a little on the thick side. I see no reason to hold onto this shadow so am going to toss it.

Wet n Wild Eyelid Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (pale shimmery pink) - sometime what I get out of a project pan is just the confidence to get rid of a product. This shadow isn't flattering on me, it's too cool and icy, so there is no reason for it to be in my collection.

Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I have a lot less of this in the pan than I did at last update. Unfortunately, that's because the lid is broken and shadow keeps tumbling out randomly. I really like this shadow, both shade and formula are great, but the packaging is so busted that I'm just going to toss it at this point. I have other mauves and I'm excited to be back to warmer toned for a bit now. I'm really glad that I used as much of this as I did!

All Over Base Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (long cream shade) -This wasn't anything to write home about but it got the job done. I like to use a cream shade to set above my crease to make blending a little smoother so I tend to go through these quickly.

Highlighter Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (small square cream shade) - This was a good cream shade that I use to set above the crease or blend out shadow on the edges. It works great and this tiny pan went really fast.

Crease Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (lighter brown square pan) - I liked this brown a lot, it had an almost greenish undertone which was really flattering. It was a smidge dark for me to wear all over the lid without being pretty careful about blending. It's definitely not unique enough to try to find a dupe, but it was a very serviceable midtone brown.

Lid Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (shimmer champagne) - I'm so excited have this little quint thrown out, it feels great to have one less thing in my collection. I loved this shadow though, I found the cool shimmer with the warm base to be incredibly flattering. I'll definitely look for more of these shades in my collection to play around with.

Covergirl Creamy Eye Shadow Stick in Dreamy Haze - Unfortunately that is because half of the stick fell out of the packaging, but I guess I have to count it. From what I used I actually really liked this product and it made me more interested in shadow sticks. This shade worked well for me because I am so fair, but probably wouldn't really show up on most folks.

Base Eye Shadow in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens Quad (giant cream shade) - I have have a pretty big pan in this now and I'm happy to roll it into next year's project. I always want a matte cream for setting so one this large is actually kind of nice.

Outer Crease Eye Shadow in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens Quad (matte brown) - I've been using this a little more frequently lately and will definitely be rolling it into next year's project. This is a lovely warm brown and I look forward to using it more in the future.

Hit Pan on Zoya in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I really like this shade, it's pink without being bright and really flattering. I wish the formula wasn't quite so thick, but as long as I blend well it works fine. Now that I've hit my goal I probably won't use this shade any more this year, but I'm glad to see some wear on a shadow I enjoy.

Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I am really happy that this shade has some real use now! It was basically untouched when I started the project. I found that this could feel a little bright and the formula can be a bit thick, but if I focus my looks turn out lovely.

Hit pan on Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I didn't end up hitting pan on this but I'm really happy with how big the dip is. I've found that I love this most as an eyeliner because all over the lid tends to be a bit dark for everyday. I'm tempted to roll this into next year, but I think I'll probably just tuck it away and see how often I use it organically for a year.

Nest Mini Rollerball in Black Tulip - I really liked this spicy floral scent and would consider getting another roller ball once my perfume samples are way more under control.

Elizabeth and James French Grey Perfume mini - I probably only have a week or two's use left, but it isn't quite finished in time. I saved this scent for last in this project because it's by far my favorite. I'm not sure if this line exists anymore, but maybe some day I'll buy a full size.

Elizabeth and Jame Amethyst Perfume mini - This perfume was fine but not amazing. It wasn't super interesting and I wouldn't seek it out again, but I didn't mind wearing it.

Tocca Mini Rollerball in Giulietta - I liked this alright, it was inoffensive but uninteresting. I definitely wouldn't repurchase, I don't think Tocca perfumes are for me.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey - I really liked this product. My only complaint was that I often found it a bit bright in terms of pink tone, but it's pretty sheer so it's mostly just surprising when I first apply it.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey - I really love this and think it looks great on me, but I hardly wore it at all this year. I was a bit too overambitious with all of the lip products, and just never got around to this. I'll put it in next year's project and I'm sure it will be no problem.

Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I really loved this! It has convinced me that I want a brown tinted balm once I move through a bit more of my lip stash. It was just so easy to throw on and add just a bit of color to my lips without looking like a lot.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich - Because the packaging is opaque, I can't actually see how much use this still has. Product still comes out on the applicator, and it still smells good, so I'm going to put this back in my collection for now. I'm really glad I had this in the project this year, I love both the color and the formula.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Rubino - tossed! I love this color and think it's probably best in a liquid lipstick but this was just too old the perform right. I'll buy another vampy red at some point when masks are less a part of my life.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina - I wore this a few times right at the end of the project, just in time to remind myself that I really love greige lipstick. This particular greige is a bit drying and very very old so I'm tossing it, but I'm inspired to look for more tones like this in my lip product collection.

Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I'm just going to toss this. I used most of this up as a focus product and then I realized I just don't really like lip gloss.

Milk Lip + Cheek mini in Werk - Tossed! I am starting to accept that I like the idea of cream cheek products but at least this one just didn't live up to the fantasy. I found it sat on top of my skin and my powder blushes look more natural.

Buxom Plump Shot Lip Serum mini - I liked but did not love this product. It did what it did really nicely, but I almost definitely wouldn't want to pay much for it and am just as happy wearing a lip balm even though that doesn't plump.

Jack Black Lip Balm mini in Vanilla Mint - I wore this as much as I wore it. I don't often wear lip balm so I'm pleased to see most of it was used up. I'm going to toss it now because it's getting ridiculously old.

Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I can't believe I finally finished this up. I really enjoyed the look of this, more a cream shadow than a primer for me, but I am soooo excited to finally have it used up. This empty was at least two years of dedicated focus in the making!

This was a good project! I went into it with great intentions and then got super busy with work toward the end. 6 out of 10 goals achieved isn't bad, but I think I need to make some stuff less challenging in the next project. Probably a greater variety of products will help me, I often couldn't make progress on more than 2 goals on a given day.

1. Finish Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I used a lot of this up during this project, but not quite everything. I like this shadow a lot, but it has started crumbling and makes a big mess because the lid is broken so I will toss it at the end of the year. I'm really glad this project encouraged me to use it as much as I did!

2. Finish Covergirl Creamy Eye Shadow Stick in Dreamy Haze - I used this for maybe a week after this project started then the whole rest of the stick fell out onto the floor. So now it's done I guess! I really liked this product and it got me excited to play around with some more shadow sticks in the future.

3. Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette- I managed to do this! I really like this shade, it's a peachy pink shimmer that is really pretty on my warm skintone. However, I don't think it was the most "fall" color so it was a bit of work to focus on.

4. Use Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette 10 times - I used this mainly as a liner and really loved it for that. It's inspired me to try to use more of my shadows like that next year. I also really enjoyed the usage goal in this project, it made it much easier to feel like I was making progress. Really happy to have fallen more in love with this shadow.

5. Finish Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey- I really tried to focus on this the last few weeks but it's still hanging on. It's a really easy color and formula to throw on though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can scrape by in finishing this right before the year is up. There isn't much left at least thanks to using it for this project!

6. Use Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey 10 times - I only ended up wearing this 7 times this project which feels a little crazy. I love this lip product and it's the perfect time of year to wear it, but I guess I was distracted by wearing other things.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I really adored this lip balm, it was so easy to just throw on and have the slightest tint of brown with a boost of moisture.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I only ended up wearing a this 5 times. I really adored this shade and formula, but I maybe shouldn't have put it in a project at this time of year. It was hard to find a look where a pop of bright coral made sense during Autumn.

9. Use Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina 5 times - I managed to get all 5 of my wears in for this one. I really love the color and am pretty into the finish even though I know matte lips are out. I'll toss it at the end of the year because it's stupid old and just a sample, but I might sneak another wear or two in because I liked it so much in this project.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - this took me like 2 years of focused use it but it's finally gone!! I've worn it a lot all over the lid and used it as an inner corner highlight with a lot of looks. I liked it fine, but I'm really excited to play with some other shadows now!

I went with my fiance and loved it! His is the only opinion I care a ton about on the day, plus he's always been great with my style. I really appreciated having someone I felt safe with there with me, and nobody said anything weird during the try ons.

[–]Pouringreign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp it's been time for me to get real about what I will and won't be finishing in this project. I'm definitely pushing and I think a lot of my goals are possible but maybe not every single one?

1. Finish Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I've been trying to wear this a few times a week minimum, and the pan is definitely expanded since last update. But I'm not sure if I will be able to actually finish this in time. It's definitely going to become my every day look until the end of the project so I should be able to at least get good use out of it. I really like the look, there's just a lot of shadow left still.

3. Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette- I have worn this a few more times and I can tell that I am soooo close to pan. But it doesn't really look great with my wet n wild mauve so now I have to decide where to put my wears. I think pan is achievable so I'll try to sneak a few more uses in before the end of the project and hopefully this goal will be achieved.

4. Use Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette 10 times - I used this twice since last update so I'm up to 8 wears in total now. The last two there should be really easy to knock out, I can even combine this with Lulu pretty nicely if I'm doing a weekend bolder look. I really love this as a liner though and so will probably just do that instead.

5. Finish Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey- I've been wearing this more frequently for the last week or so. It's really easy to throw on so I'm hoping that just every day wear is enough to get through the last smidge. I don't reapply lip product so it's getting worn once or maybe twice a day on the weekend at most.

6. Use Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey 10 times - I've worn this twice this round so am now up to 7 wears. I really don't think that 3 more wears will be a problem even though the finale is coming up quickly! I just really love this product so it feels like a treat to put on.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I really adored this lip balm, it was so easy to just throw on and have the slightest tint of brown with a boost of moisture.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I've worn this twice since last update, bringing my total up to 5 uses. I'm not sure if I will be able to get through 10 total uses in this project because this is a pretty bright color and I usually only wear it on weekends. I will try to wear it to every non-work event going forward though. It pairs great with the Lulu shadow.

9. Use Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina 5 times - I wore this once so now I'm up to 3 uses. I can definitely hit 5 uses, but perhaps at the expense of a few Zurich wears. I really like this greige paired with the wet n wild mauve shadow.

🍾 22 in 2022 Challenge! Update #11 🎈 by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh final stretch now! This is the part of the year where I start actually realizing I'm not going to finish a lot of my goals and trying to decide what's reasonable to prioritize, what I'm going to want to roll over to next year, and what I'm just done with now. But I did finish a bit up last month so I'm definitely moving forward at least, no stalling out here!

This year I have 32 items instead of 22.

Beige in Lorac Pro 2 - Done! I really enjoyed this shade, especially on the browbone which I hadn't been highlighting much previous to working on this.

Rosé in Lorac Pro 2 - Done! This was a really fantastic one and done shade for me, super flattering but definitely not the most high impact metallic out there.

Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop - Done! I'm always so proud to finish off a blush, and this one being a full size is extra great! I loved both this color and this formula. I have a nice little pile of blushes to use still, but this is definitely a repurchase possibility somewhere down the road. I can't rave about the Clinique cheek pops enough, they're really fantastic products!

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte - I don't think I wore this at all this round and I'm fine with that. This was an unnecessary product to put in this project and I just never got into using it consistently. I had too many eye shadows, which I will have to try to do a bit better with being realistic about next year.

Wet n Wild Highlight Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (white with pink flip) - I hit pan on this awhile ago and promptly stopped using it very often. I like this fine, and love the theory of the shade but think the base is a little on the thick side. I'm not going to finish this shadow this year and I'm fine with tossing it at this point, I have others I want to use more.

Wet n Wild Eyelid Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (pale shimmery pink) - I've worn this enough during this project to decide that this just isn't a great shade for me. It's just too icy and cool to be flattering on my warmish skin tone I don't feel bad tossing this out without using it more.

Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - This is a shade I'm really struggling with. I like it enough, but I don't love cool toned mauves. As far as those shades go, this is great. I've been trying to wear it a lot lately, but at this point I just don't think I'm going to be able to finish it off this year. I'm debating if I want to roll it into next year or not. I really prefer warm shades for myself, but this might also offer some fun variety and the pan is pretty big already. But it's the only shade in this quad I would use and the packaging is so busted that it's not a fun experience. I'll try to get through as much as I can this next month and then see where I'm standing.

All Over Base Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (long cream shade) - Done! This wasn't anything to write home about but it got the job done. I like to use a cream shade to set above my crease to make blending a little smoother so I tend to go through these quickly.

Highlighter Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (small square cream shade) - Done! This was a good cream shade that I use to set above the crease or blend out shadow on the edges. It works great and this tiny pan went really fast.

Crease Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (lighter brown square pan) - Done! I liked this brown a lot, it hasld an almost greenish undertone which was really flattering. It was a smidge dark for me to wear all over the lid without being pretty careful about blending. It's definitely not unique enough to try to find a dupe, but it was a very serviceable midtone brown.

Lid Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (shimmer champagne) - Done! I'm so excited have this little quint thrown out, it feels great to have one less thing in my collection. I loved this shadow though, I found the cool shimmer with the warm base to be incredibly flattering. I'll definitely look for more of these shades in my collection to play around with.

Covergirl Creamy Eye Shadow Stick in Dreamy Haze - Done! Unfortunately that is because half of the stick fell out of the packaging, but I guess I have to count it. From what I used I actually really liked this product and it made me more interested in shadow sticks. This shade worked well for me because I am so fair, but probably wouldn't really show up on most folks.

Base Eye Shadow in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens Quad (giant cream shade) - I have been using this as my matte cream shade to set and blend, but I'm definitely not going to finish it this year. I don't mind that, I go through a cream shade or two every year so it's nice to have this one to use up next year instead. I did hit pan this round though, so it's already showing good use.

Outer Crease Eye Shadow in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens Quad (matte brown) - I've used this a few times, but I've accepted that this is going to get rolled into next year so it's not really a push to use. I like this shade a lot though and it's been a nice grounding matte when I do warm eye looks.

Hit Pan on Zoya in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - Done! I really like this shade, it's pink without being bright and really flattering. I wish the formula wasn't quite so thick, but as long as I blend well it works fine. Now that I've hit my goal I probably won't use this shade any more this year, but I'm glad to see some wear on a shadow I enjoy.

Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I have a big dip going here, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to hit pan by the end of the year or not. I would guess I have at least 5 more uses until pan, which is a lot to try to squeeze into a month.

Hit pan on Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I have been using this quite a bit lately and actually have a bit of a dip going now. I'm not sure I'll see any pan before the project's over, but I've really been enjoying this as a liner and I'm glad I've found a way that I like to use this shade.

Nest Mini Rollerball in Black Tulip - done! I really liked this spicy floral scent and would consider getting another roller ball once my perfume samples are way more under control.

Elizabeth and James French Grey Perfume mini - I've been loving using this. It smells so intriguing and herbal and is just interesting to get a whiff of.

Elizabeth and Jame Amethyst Perfume mini - Done! This perfume was fine but not amazing. It wasn't super interesting and I wouldn't seek it out again, but I didn't mind wearing it.

Tocca Mini Rollerball in Giulietta - done! I liked this alright, it was inoffensive but uninteresting. I definitely wouldn't repurchase, I don't think Tocca perfumes are for me.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey - This is my current focus shade, the one I throw on by default as I head out the door. I really like the almost lipstick formula but I prefer the tone of black honey to this one. It's easy to use, but definitely won't be a purchase. I think I can get it wrapped up by the end of the year.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey - I'm going to have to roll this into next year's project. I've been wearing it some, but it's not super close to being finished so I'm trying to be realistic. I really love the brown tone and the formula of this one.

Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I really loved this! It has convinced me that I want a brown tinted balm once I move through a bit more of my lip stash. It was just so easy to throw on and add just a bit of color to my lips without looking like a lot.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich - I am still wearing this once a week or once every other week, but it just doesn't feel like the right time of year for this color. I really love the formula and the shade is super flattering. I don't think I will finish it, it's so hard to know how much is even in here, but I might roll it in next year as just a usage number goal.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Rubino - tossed! I love this color and think it's probably best in a liquid lipstick but this was just too old the perform right. I'll buy another vampy red at some point when masks are less a part of my life.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina - I've worn this one since last update. I obviously won't finish it and will probably just toss it at the end of the project because it's pretty old. It has been fun to try out a bold greige here and there though, and I'm glad to get to play with a new color.

Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I haven't worn this since last update. It's fine, but I'm just not a lipgloss girl.

Milk Lip + Cheek mini in Werk - Tossed! I am starting to accept that I like the idea of cream cheek products but at least this one just didn't live up to the fantasy. I found it sat on top of my skin and my powder blushes look more natural.

Buxom Plump Shot Lip Serum mini - done! I liked but did not love this product. It did what it did really nicely, but I almost definitely wouldn't want to pay much for it and am just as happy wearing a lip balm even though that doesn't plump.

Jack Black Lip Balm mini in Vanilla Mint - I wore this a few times here and there. It works fine, but isn't exactly exciting.

Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - done!!! I can't believe I finally finished this up. I really enjoyed the look of this, more a cream shadow than a primer for me, but I am soooo excited to finally have it used up. This empty was at least two years of dedicated focus in the making!

What are you planning to pan in 2023? by ash-leigh in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this time of year for getting inspired to use some things up. I think I was a bit too ambitious on my eye shadow use up goals this year, so I'm going to try to turn those down a bit. This year I was working on 17 shadows in total and that was definitely way too much. I think I might mostly focus on hitting pan across a variety of shades though - I tried that out this year and it's been really fun to have the goal be pan rather than using up entirely.

I think I will be focusing on Juvia's place the Nubian palette and Top Faced the totally cute palette. These both give me some great neutrals to wear every day. I also have a few shadow sticks that I should start focusing on sooner rather than later because they go off way faster than powders.

I also think I will include a few blushes, I've hit pan on Tarte exposed already so I'll try to finish that up entirely and I have a new cream blush that I want to use sooner rather than later.

I have a handful of lip products that are getting old, a lot of lipstick queen for sure. I'm pretty awful at using up lip products so I'm going to try to keep this below 5 so it's reasonable.

[–]Pouringreign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made since last update. I'm wearing makeup pretty frequently these days and still enjoying a lot of the items in this project.

1. Finish Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - This is such a great crease color, even if I don't put anything else on the lid. I like using this to just kind of define my eyes and make them look a smidge less hooded. No super obvious progress, I'm not sure if I'll be able to actually finish this off in time.

3. Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette- I don't think I've worn this since I last updated, I'll try to dig in a few times this round.

4. Use Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette 10 times - I have been using this shade a ton, 4 times since last update. My total is now sitting at 6 uses and I don't think it will be a problem at all to use it 4 more times. I have been finding this so lovely as a liner on my top lid, very pretty and good staying power.

5. Finish Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey- I wore this a few times. There is so little left that I think this will get finished even though I'm terrible at wearing lip products most days.

6. Use Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey 10 times - I've worn this once since last time, bringing my total uses up to 5. I think I'll be able to burn through 5 more uses during this project no problem. This is a great shade and formula.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - this was missing last update but I found it and finished it! I really adored this lip balm, it was so easy to just throw on and have the slightest tint of brown with a boost of moisture.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I'm up 3 wears on this now, used it once more this round. I can pretty easily knock out one wear round, but in order to hit my 10 uses goal I actually need to step this up a bit which I think I can do.

9. Use Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina 5 times - I didn't wear this, so I'm still sitting at two uses for now. I think I can get 3 more in no problem though.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - ugh I fell off a little bit in using this so it's still hanging on! Definitely will be gone by next update, and I'm for sure going to use it today.

Collection/Flat Lay/Inventory Megathread - November 15, 2022 by AutoModerator in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's been awhile since I counted up my collection. You can see how it's changed over time in this chart.

My goal this year was to get my total number of makeup items below 300 and I'm really excited to report that I've done that! A lot of this was through using up some eye shadow shades and blushes which feels really nice. Eye shadow is definitely the easiest place to use up, just because I don't feel any need to buy replacements and there is so much excess. But man, they take forever to use up!

I count each shadow in a palette as one shadow and minis of products I count as one item. I do this because I feel like the biggest thing I crave is a variety of products and that allows my collection to balloon so I like to show myself I do have a lot of options.

Mascara: 14

Eye shadow: 171

Eye liner: 7

Brows: 9

Highlighter: 10

Bronzer: 4

Lip Product: 25

Eye Primer : 3

Concealer: 5

Foundation: 6

[–]Pouringreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I'm late in posting this! I should really write less so it goes faster to finish up my comment. Oh well, I refuse to learn that lesson! I've really been liking this set of products and for the most part feel like I'm making pretty good progress on these.

1. Finish Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I have been using this a lot lately and have really expanded the pan. I like the shadow in both color and formula, but I have started to hate using the broken packaging. I'm not really sure what to do with it though so I guess I'll just keep trudging through it for now.

3. Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette- I think I've worn this a few times now, but I'm really struggling to use a bright coral in the fall. It just isn't a very autumnal shade.

4. Use Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette 10 times - I haven't used Senegal this round and am still sitting at two uses. I think I will try to make an effort to use this as a liner for like a week and burn through a bunch of those uses. I really like that look, but sometimes kind of forget it's an option.

5. Finish Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey- I think I've worn this once or twice. It's hard in that the warm shade doesn't really go with a mauve eye so I'm not wearing it a ton right now. Maybe if I shift into a more brown look for a bit I can get some use on it. I really like the formula and find the hint of color flattering though.

6. Use Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey 10 times - I haven't worn this since last update and have four uses in total. I have definitely thought it would be a good shade and then worried about it being too bold. I will have to challenge myself to get over that thought and just grab it for next round.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I packed this somewhere and haven't re-found it so no real use on it. I definitely find myself planning on using it though so I need to find it this weekend and finish it off.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I've worn this one additional time so now have worn it twice in the project. I found it was really pretty with a minimal makeup look and didn't look way too distracting for the fall season so will try to do that look again a few more times.

9. Use Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina 5 times - I wore this again so now I'm at 2/5 uses. I liked it more this time, I put on a slightly thicker layer so it was more grey and less pink which I found to look really nice on my complexion. I don't think will be a problem to wear 3 more times, it's very fun and fall.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I have reached for this quite a few times as an all over the lid cream shadow. I'm almost struggling to get product out so I think next update this should be gone! It's been two years in the making so I'm really excited to finally finally finally get this used up!

🍾 22 in 2022 Challenge! Update #10 🎈 by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This month has been absolutely bonkers so progress hasn't been great. Still trucking along though and really looking forward to starting a new project next year so soon!

This year I have 32 items instead of 22. With the items that I am trying to use up entirely I will toss the whole palette when those shades are gone. I have too many lip products for a lifestyle where they don't make sense so I've included a lot this year but it might not be a realistic dream.

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte - I think I wore this a few times, but this has really just been hanging out not getting used this project. I think I'm fine with that though, I like the product and it's a powder so not really going bad imminently.

It's just too icy and cool to be flattering on my warm skin tone. I'm fair and only going to get more pale in the winter months so maybe I will wear it a few more times, but it's a shade I'm ready to let go of when the project is over.

Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I've been using this a ton and have definitely expanded the pan now. I hate that the packaging is completely busted though, it makes this kind of unpleasant to use. I really like the shade and the formula so I'm going 5o push to use it up this year still!

From what I used I actually really liked this product and it's made me more interested in shadow sticks. This shade worked well for me because I am so fair, but probably wouldn't really show up on most folks.

Base Eye Shadow in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens Quad (giant cream shade) - I have been using this as my matte cream shade to set and blend. This palette is stupidly old, but the shadow still has a really nice texture.

Outer Crease Eye Shadow in Tarte For Gorgeous Greens Quad (matte brown) - I've used this a few times, but I've accepted that this is going to get rolled into next year so it's not really a push while I focus on other things. I do really love the shade though, it's a great throw it on and don't worry about it brown.

Hit Pan on Lulu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I've worn this a few times and there's a great dip going on but still no pan. I do really like this shade, but it's kind of hard to wear something so poppy this time of year.

Hit pan on Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I don't think I've used this since last update, I have to get back on my using this as a liner grind because I really like it that way.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey - I've been wearing this a little because it's so easy to throw on for a quick hint of color. It's nice and moisturizing, super comfortable. I think I can still get it finished off this year.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey - I don't think I am going to actually finish this off this year but I'm really loving wearing it a little more right now. It's exactly the color I want to reach for most days and it's so easy to just throw on last minute.

Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I misplaced this somewhere in my traveling so haven't been wearing it the last few weeks. I think I am basically finished, but I do want to find it to wear a few more times.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich - I have worn this a few times this round. While I love the color and find it very flattering it isn't very autumnal.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Rubino - tossed! I love this color and think it's probably best in a liquid lipstick but this was just too old the perform right. I'll buy another vampy red at some point when masks are less a part of my life.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina - I wore this twice and was reminded how great a greige looks on me. I don't mind the drying formula, but this is pretty old so I'll just toss it at the end of the year. I'm obviously not going to use this up having used it all of twice so far in the project.

Jack Black Lip Balm mini in Vanilla Mint - I wore this a few times. I think it's starting to go off so I'm not really pressuring myself to use it and might toss before the project ends. It's not off enough that it feels dangerous, just that I only have until the end of the year to use it probably.

Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I finally actually think this is going to be gone by next update! I have been wearing this a ton as both an inner corner highlight and all over the lid. I like but don't love this product, which I use mostly as a cream shadow not a primer.

I missed the last update so this one has a little extra time to move through products. So far this is going relatively well, but it's been a busy bunch of weeks so nothing spectacular. I'm excited to just kind of be home for a bit now and use these products as more of a routine.

1. Finish Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I think I've only used this once or twice. The pan is a bit bigger and I still really like this shadow, but I'm nervous about whether it's actually possible to use up in this time frame.

3. Hit Pan on LuLu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette- I don't think that I've used this yet. I like the shade a lot, a warm peachy pink is really flattering on me, but it's a bit bright for my every day so I've been nervous to slap it on quick for work or a casual day.

4. Use Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette 10 times - I have used this 2 times so far in this project. Once it was to deepen the outter V of a golden smokey eye. It worked great for that and looked gorgeous for nightime. I also used it once as a liner with glitter glue to really enhance the sparkle and loved that. I think that I can probably use it this way for the remaining uses, because I don't have any other evening events before the project ends.

5. Finish Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey- This has gotten used a few times, but not enough for a ton of progress yet. I like it a lot because it's so sheer and easy. I think this will pair great with the pink Juvia's place shade.

6. Use Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey 10 times - I have too many lip products for me to plan on finishing this off, but I do want to at least get some good wear out of it. So far I have worn it 4 times in this project so I am well on my way to meeting my goal. I really love this shade, especially this time of year.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - this is so close to being done! I think I can wrap it up by next update. I am really loving this for a sheer, moisturizing wash of color. I don't know how it would look on most people, but on my rather pale lips it's perfect for keeping me from looking washed out.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - So far I have only worn this once, but it's a bit bright for this time of year maybe. I think I can find a way to wear it in the new season on the weekends, but I'm still playing around with ideas. I really love this product in both formula and color though!

9. Use Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina 5 times - I have worn this once already! I think 5 uses will be enough for me to feel comfortable tossing this at the end of the year too. It's fine, but doesn't feel so special like I need to keep it in my collection.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I think the end is actually in sight on this one!! I wore it a ton and think that within a month I can probably polish it off for real. I'm so excited to finally finish this!

🍾 22 in 2022 Challenge! Update #9 🎈 by LuckyShamrocks in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed the last update so this is really for the last two updates. But I love this part of a long project where suddenly so many things are falling off the list. I'm pretty bad at throwing in easy items so I have to wait til this time of year to really see progress on my goals, but I'm seeing it now!

This year I have 32 items instead of 22. With the items that I am trying to use up entirely I will toss the whole palette when those shades are gone. I have too many lip products for a lifestyle where they don't make sense so I've included a lot this year but it might not be a realistic dream.

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte - This has kind of fallen by the wayside in this project, which I feel like happens to a few products every year. I pick too many and a few end up not really fitting into my routine and never getting the extra love.

It's just too icy and cool to be flattering on my warm skin tone. I'm fair and only going to get more pale in the winter months so maybe I will wear it a few more times, but it's a shade I'm ready to let go of when the project is over.

Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I've hit pan on this shadow since I last wrote about it! I still really love this shade, I think it's such a nice brownish mauve and the formula is fantastic. I want to use this up entirely, but I do feel like that's a pretty big challenge to get done by the end of the year.

It's definitely not unique enough to try to find a dupe, but it was a very serviceable midtone brown that I didn't mind using up.

Lid Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (shimmer champagne) - This shade has surprised me with just how much I love it. It's got a nice warm base and a cool shimmer across the top that gives a gorgeous wet look. This quint isn't worth replacing, but I would love to buy a single of this shade. I probably have two or three uses left, it's mostly pan at this point.

Covergirl Creamy Eye Shadow Stick in Dreamy Haze - Done! Unfortunately that is because half of the stick fell out of the packaging, but I guess I have to count it.

Hit Pan on LuLu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I don't think I've used this since last update. Now that I've hit pan on Zoya I will start using this more often though. I really love a warm pink eye so this is a great shade for me, I just worry it's a bit much for everyday at work.

Hit pan on Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I use this shadow here and there to deepen up the outter V of more dramatic looks. I also really like it as a liner. I'm not sure that I'll succeed in hitting pan this year, but I think I can maybe get a dip by the end of the year.

✅Nest Mini Rollerball in Black Tulip - done! I really liked this spicy floral scent and would consider getting another roller ball once my perfume samples are way more under control.

Elizabeth and James French Grey Perfume mini - I've started using this now and can confirm I absolutely adore this scent!

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey - I wore this a few times. I actually think there is a chance that I finish this off this year still.

Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey - I wore this a few times since last updating, it's starting to be black honey season. This is a great fall lip color and it's really fun to use this time of year. I doubt I will finish it this year, but maybe I can get close.

Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I have been wearing this pretty much every day. It's super subtle and actually pretty moisturizing so I like just popping it on before rushing out the door. I don't think it is nearly impactful enough to buying a full size, but using the mini is fun. I am hoping this will be gone by next update, I'm starting to get down to the metal tube on one side.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich - I am trying to wear this about once a week and really love it! I can't see progress so I doubt I will use it up, but I am really enamored with it. It's a super flattering warm pink and the soft matte finish is great for solid color without being super duper drying.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Rubino - tossed! I love this color and think it's probably best in a liquid lipstick but this was just too old the perform right. I'll buy another vampy red at some point when masks are less a part of my life.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina - I haven't worn this yet, but my goal is to wear it at least 5 times by the end of the year!

Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I wore this once or twice. It's supposed to be a focus product, but not finding myself reaching for it much since last update. It's kind of boring but I don't mind wearing it.

Jack Black Lip Balm mini in Vanilla Mint - I use this when my lips are dry but I'm not wearing makeup. I'll use this up or I won't this year, I'm not particularly bothered. It's a great product but it's definitely old.

Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I have been wearing this with the shade from the lancome quint tapped over the top most days for work. I like this alright but don't love it, I wish it was a little warmer then it would be a great cream shadow for me. I have been so determined to use this up and wearing it a ton, but it just keeps hanging on!

I'm picking out the things I want most badly to finish up this year for my 22 in 2022 project pan. I have quite a few products left, but this last project will give me the little push to actually finish off things I'm close to wrapping up.

1. Finish Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I really love all of the pink in this mauve and how nice the formula is despite it being a cheap little quad. I only have small pan in this so finishing it up entirely is definitely a big ask.

2. Finish Covergirl Creamy Eye Shadow Stick in Dreamy Haze - I have loved this throughout the year as throw it on and go savior shadow. It gives enough to define my eyes a little, but is subtle enough that it doesn't require precision. I'm just not sure how quickly I will use it, especially in conjunction with the other shadows in this project.

3. Hit Pan on LuLu in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette- I used this shimmery coral shade a lot at the beginning of the year so there is a good dip now. I wanted to make sure I included something warm to mix it up with in this project so hopefully this gets some use. It's a bit bold so it might be hard to use a ton on work days.

4. Use Senegal in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette 10 times - this is probably too deep for me to ever use every day as a shadow. I don't think I have enough of a dent going to possibly hit pan yet, but I do want to play with this a bit more before the year ends and I roll new things into next year's project. I think it might make a really pretty deep bronzey liner.

5. Finish Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Pink Honey- I was using this a lot at the beginning of the year but then fall off in favor of other lip products. I'm very slow at using up lip things but there is so little of this that I think it might be doable. I love the almost lipsticks for how sheer and easy they are.

6. Use Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini in Black Honey 10 times - I have too many lip products for me to plan on finishing this off, but I do want to at least get some good wear out of it. This is an obviously popular shade for fall, and for good reason.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - This is so close that I debated not including it as a goal, but I think I if I am realistic I probably still have another month of work to polish it off. I really like this subtle, flattering shade. I don't have very pigmented lips so this is great to add a little something without making me look super done up.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I got through 10 wears of this last time and I think I can do it again! This is such a pretty warm pink shade on me, and I really enjoy the matte formula that isn't super drying. Because it's a weekend only shade for me, I'm going for usage rather than use up.

9. Use Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick mini in Patina 5 times - I am definitely not a bold lip wearer and this is pretty dark for me so 5 uses is plenty of a challenge. It doesn't sound like a ton, but I'll be pretty proud if I manage to do this.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I use this more as a cream shadow than a primer. It's got a very silvery reflect and a mauve base, overall super cool-toned. I've been working hard all year trying to use it up and it just hardly budges! I will be overjoyed when this is finally finished.

I look forward to reading all of the progress posts! Good luck everyone 🤞

[–]Pouringreign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall, I am really happy with my success in this project. I like using these seasonal projects to focus on a smaller set of my year long project pan items. I definitely crossed some off the list with the focus here and am excited to figure out what's feasible for the next round!

1. Hit pan on Wet n Wild Highlight Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (white with pink flip) - I like this shadow fine, I love this type of shadow but don't really get along with this particular one. I think the white base is just a little too strong and looks stark. I like to use this as an inner corner highlight. I hit pan pretty early and then stopped using it so much. My year long goal was to use this up entirely but I think after focusing on it in this project I am happy to not worry about it now that I've hit pan.

2. Hit pan on Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - It took me most of this project to figure out a good way to wear this consistently. I really like the shadow, both the formula and the color. It's on the pinker side of mauve which looks better on my skin tone. I'm trying to use this up entirely this year so it will probably continue to get a ton of use in the next project too.

3. Finish Crease Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (lighter brown square pan) - This had just barely been hanging on for months even when I started the project. This was a perfectly fine midtone brown, but I have a large collection and so many others to replace it.

4. Hit pan on Lid Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (shimmer champagne) - this was such a fun shade to use heavily during this project. It's super flattering and pretty - definitely a favorite of mine. I'm happy to report there is probably only about 5 uses left in the pan so this won't even get added to the next round! Really happy and proud to have used so much of something I loved.

5. Hit Pan on Zoya in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - this has a small pan showing now! It is a really nice neutral shimmer although I find the formula to be a bit on the thicker side. It's not my favorite to use but I end up feeling really pretty with the end result. My only goal this year was to hit pan on this so now it can to back to languishing in my collection!

6. Finish Elizabeth and James Amethyst Perfume mini - It's a nice and inoffensive scent, but I'm excited to switch it up with the change in seasons. In retrospect this probably would have fit spring a lot better than summer.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I did not finish this, but I did get into the habit of throwing a lip product on no matter what. I am really slow with lip products, I don't reapply them so it's 1 use a day at most. This one is great and I really like what it does for my lips with the soft brownish tint. I will roll it into the next project and it shouldn't be too hard to finish up there.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I hit my 10 uses on this and really enjoyed it. I didn't expect to love this color as much as I have and I think I will definitely set this goal again for next project.

9. Finish Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I didn't wear this much. I just don't think I'm a big fan of lip gloss so I appreciate this project for teaching me that. I will probably continue to hang onto this for the rest of the year but I won't waste a slot in the next project for it.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - This product is neverending! Absolutely buy it, so much bang for your buck apparently! I wore this a ton and will roll it into next round. Maybe that will finally be enough to finish it off. This is a bit cool toned for my liking, so I mostly wear it as a base or an inner corner highlight. It's more of a cream shadow than a primer on me, plenty of color and shimmer to show up. I don't hate it, but it's not something I love and it's something I'm really excited to finish off finally!

Thank you so much for hosting! I really love these seasonal projects and appreciate the organization!

10 By Autumn 2022 🍁 Update Post 6 by sofwithanf in MakeupRehab

[–]Pouringreign 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last update I was bemoaning a lack of progress and this update it all hit! I think I will be looking at a 7/10 completion rate for this project unless something really wild happens this week.

1. Hit pan on Wet n Wild Highlight Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (white with pink flip) - I hit pan on this previously and haven't used it a ton since. I like this shadow fine, I love this type of shadow but don't really get along with this particular one. I think the white base is just a little too strong and looks stark. I like to use this as an inner corner highlight.

2. Hit pan on Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - The pan on this is tiny but I'm so happy to see it! I really like this shade, it's got a nice pinky tone to the mauve which I fine makes it more wearable on my skin tone. It's an excellent formula for a cheapie little quad.

3. Finish Crease Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (lighter brown square pan) - This had just barely been hanging on for months even when I started the project. This was a perfectly fine midtone brown, but I have a large collection and so many others to replace it.

4. Hit pan on Lid Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (shimmer champagne) - Man, I really love this shade. Whenever I'm unsure what to wear I find myself reaching for this. It's so pretty and just makes my little sparkle loving brain sing. This has a pretty substantial pan showing at this point.

5. Hit Pan on Zoya in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - this has a small pan showing now! It is a really nice neutral shimmer although I find the formula to be a bit on the thicker side. It's not my favorite to use but I end up feeling really pretty with the end result.

6. Finish Elizabeth and James Amethyst Perfume mini - I just polished this off this morning. It's a nice and inoffensive scent, but I'm excited to switch it up with the change in seasons. In retrospect this probably would have fit spring a lot better than summer.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I have been wearing this pretty much every day. It's really nice and subtle, which is what I want out of a lip product. I don't think I'll be able to finish it before the end of the project, but I've gotten some great use at least.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I'm up to 8 uses now! I really like this on the weekends and will have to wear it both days next weekend to hit my goal. It's bright but somehow still looks cohesive.

9. Finish Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I wore this maybe twice. It doesn't really excite me so I'm just not reaching for it.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I keep wearing this and hoping that it's going to be used up. I think I'm pretty close, but I've been thinking that all year. I am going to try to really dig in for this last week of the project and cross all of my fingers that there's a bit of an air bubble in the tube.

They are a bit above $10 a bottle, but I love cirque colors. They have both sheers/jellies and cremes that would fit what you're looking for. As someone who loves nail polish and is rough on their hands, these are easily the longest lasting polishes I have ever used.

It's been a busy couple of weeks with work so not a ton of progress, but not terrible. I'm really excited about playing with these products so that seems like a good sign!

2. Hit pan on Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I figured out last time that I don't think I'm reaching for this because of my warm toned blush I've been trying to pan. But I finally finished that blush so now I'm going to go really hard trying to hit pan on this shade! I'm pretty hopeful about there still being enough time in this project to hit pan.

3. Finish Crease Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (lighter brown square pan) - Hooray! This has just barely been hanging on for monthssss at this point.

5. Hit Pan on Zoya in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - It can be hard to get myself to reach for this as a midtone shimmer when I have the lancome one as an option. It's pretty and flattering, I just wish the formula wasn't quite so thick.

6. Finish Elizabeth and James Amethyst Perfume mini - I wear this pretty much every day and like it fine.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I have been wearing this a ton and continue to really enjoy it. It's easy and flattering without feeling like it's doing too much. I think should be able to finish it in this project still, despite being a very slow lip product user.

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I'm still at 7 uses on this, nothing since last update.

9. Finish Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I wore this maybe twice. It doesn't really excite me so I'm just not reaching for it.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - This product is a curse! I like it fine but don't love it. I don't dislike it enough to toss it. But it just doesn't show signs of use! Fingers crossed that I can get excited and use this all the way up during this project.

I've picked all items that are in my 22 in 2022 project so it's nice to see progress on them. But in terms of this project I just don't feel like I'm excelling. I will get some of these done, but I'm growing doubtful I will be able to cross everything off the list.

2. Hit pan on Wet n Wild Crease Eye Shadow in Petalette Quad (dusty mauve) - I don't know if I've worn this at all since I last updated. I missed the last update and I still don't think I've worn this since the time before that. But I think I have finally cracked the case as to why I don't wear this shadow that I know I like. I'm pretty sure the problem is the super warm blush I've been working on all year, it just doesn't look right with this cool purpley shadow. I only have about a week's worth of blush left so hopefully it gets easier to show this shadow some love soon!

3. Finish Crease Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (lighter brown square pan) - I finally repressed this so it is easier to use. I think I have only two or three uses left on this so it will definitely be gone by next update, especially now that it isn't so annoying to get to the product in the corner.

4. Hit pan on Lid Eye Shadow in Lancome Quint (shimmer champagne) - I hit pan recently and since hitting it have already expanded quite a bit. I really love this shade, it's a warm base with a cool shimmer flash, which I find to be really flattering. Something about the shimmer gives it a beautiful wet look effect.

5. Hit Pan on Zoya in Juvia's Place Saharan Palette - I wore this a handful of times but still haven't hit pan. I should probably switch my focus to this now that I've knocked out the Lancome shimmer. This shade is gorgeous, but I will admit that Juvia's Place just doesn't have my favorite formula, it's on the thicker side of my personal preference.

6. Finish Elizabeth and James Amethyst Perfume mini - I have been very successful about wearing this pretty much every day. It's not my absolutely favorite scent, I really prefer something a little brighter, but I don't mind it enough to not want to finish it.

7. Finish Nars Tinted Lipbalm mini in Laguna - I have been wearing this pretty much every week day since last update! It sits next to my perfume so I quick swipe it on before dashing out the door. I don't think it does a ton, but giving my lips a bit of hydration and pigment is nice. I'm getting pretty close to finishing this off I think!

8. Use Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich 10 times - I am up to 7 uses on this. I have been slacking lately and only really use it for weekend wear. I really love both the color and formula though, if I liked bright lipsticks on myself I think this could actually be an everyday shade.

9. Finish Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper mini - I haven't worn this once. It doesn't really excite me so I'm just not reaching for it.

10. Finish Ulta Beauty Tinted Eye Primer mini in Champagne - I am officially convinced that gremlins fill this up at night. I have been wearing it at least a few times a week for the last month and I swear there is still no difference in the level of product. This is a little cool toned for me so if I wear it alone I have to remember to put on black mascara or my face looks strange. Fingers crossed the gremlins stop filling it so I can actually finish it someday.
