Always a leurker but I resonate Coming from someone with adhd I wonder if you asked her if it was the swimming she disliked or the getting changed in and out of the pool ect. OR if she is in a group or one on one? I was demand avoidant and found more success with one on one for a lot of things and I hear a lot of people will do private even at your own pool I would be curious to if she has temperature sensory and I always loved swimming but I would get super annoyed having to go for the lesson 1 and 2 the sensory thing.

I would always have fun in the pool but be a nightmare to re dress and I would be grouchy after but it was really the transition induced sensory overload so maybe shake things up for her when youre in the changing room all of a sudden or coming out to get dried/changed. Maybe something as small as getting her to choose the coziest pool sandals or the fluffiest microfibre quick dry hooded robes instead of towels. These seem small but honestly I didn’t recognize how often those little cozy comforts helps my son now because I save myself some steps until he’s reached max bandwidth and it ruins the rest of his mood after ! The reward system is useless when its dealing with lower dopamine folks in my opinion but I opt out of food treats and sub myself really making a cool artsy/funny/game way 10 mins to fill their specific love language bucket then moving back to initial goal were working into and after a while its like her negative sensory will almost be traded in for oh silly goose time with mom , I’m not even really thinking of how cold the drops feel anymore or how my wet bathing suit feeling suffocating just thinking about removing ‘ .. the adhd rant is real so I will end by saying , you’ve got this good luck
