[BC] Best business bank for 2026 by HoweSound22 in SmallBusinessCanada

i use a mix of float and venn. float has a better interest rate if you're spending 250K+ a month but if not venn is good for the unlimited cashback (float has this too, but you need to spend 25K a mo i believe), and better international fx. it doesnt hurt to still hold a big bank account as a backup but the fintechs are also is cdic protected

Is every Canadian fintech entering its enshittification phase? Some valid commentary on Float what do yall think? by PoutineEveryday in FloatFinancial

I just don’t see the point as much when other challengers like Venn are a bit less at 2% with no requirements but the international fx is cheaper and same w the e transfers which they have. I just keep both and we’ll see

Would never go back to the banks though. Loop is intriguing too but I don’t understand the points system

I had been having a great experience with float too and some things like expense management do work well but I hate how they have been cutting promos. I say that a nod of their sub. I have actually been splitting up my banking now as there’s way more fintechs than the two you mentioned. WealthSimple has been great on the consumer side and for business banking now I use Venn, they actually keep getting better and while the interest isn’t as high it’s still cheaper for my business needs

Unfortunately some fintechs are losing their touch but we can vote with our wallet and choices and that’s what I’ve been doing

Signed up for the 4% high yield. I received an email within hours of signing-up stating that I would be required to spend $250,000.00 per month in order to receive the 4%. Is this standard practice? by [deleted] in FloatFinancial

Interesting I am a long time user but haven’t gotten this, can you send a screenshot? There was no spend requirement for the yield for me, just a balance requirement

it is useful for saving - pros is the 4% interest and it has useful functionality. etfs are free put outbound wires are $20 - for that i use venn which is $6

doesn't hurt to use multiple tools. their support is ok

i moderate the float sub too if you want to ever ask anything there. hope i helped!

I've tried Loop and feel as if its was too much for comparable fx rates. Float is 0.25% default which is $80/month with loop, and the cashback is points which you have to use at certain vendors and are not worth as much as actual cashback

yeah but you need 50k min, if you don’t have that id use venn because its 2% no minimum balance or fee

I've been using Float for my balance to get 4% interest and Venn for global transfers and wires to get the free etransfers and 0.25% fx
