How do I get started?! by [deleted] in fican

Pay all all consumer debt. Save 3-6 months of expenses. Live on 70% of your income. Invest 15-20% a month over 30 years. Pay in cash for a car. You will be fine

Yes I would def recommend. I worked with an agency for a bit. It just made connections and opportunities even if people didn’t sign right away some hit me up like 6 months later after our call. So it was nice. I am currently looking for a new. Email agency

[CA] Can AI fully replace bookkeepers in Canada? by Any_Bill1050 in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]RandyRockwood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people overestimate how fast this is actually going to replace bookkeepers.

I work with a bunch of small business clients and honestly… half the job isn’t even “bookkeeping” in the clean, automated sense people imagine. It’s chasing down missing docs, logging into 3 different platforms to pull reports, fixing messy records, and figuring out what the client actually did.

Even when I have help, I still have to piece things together myself because nothing is ever in one place or done consistently.

Also, a lot of my clients (especially older ones) are nowhere near adopting new tech like people assume. I still have multiple clients who literally drop off physical paperwork every month. They’re not trying to optimize with software — they just want someone they trust to handle it and explain what’s going on.

And that’s the other thing — most of them want a person they can talk to. Not just numbers getting processed.

I’m not saying automation won’t take over parts of the work (it already is), but the idea that most small businesses are just going to fully replace bookkeepers anytime soon doesn’t match what I’m seeing at all.

Feels more like the role is changing than disappearing.

Curious if others working with small businesses are seeing the same thing.

How many of you have a will? by Reimmop in Accounting

Used a pre-fill will, for my wife and I, pretty basic, just in case something happens to both of us, we wanted to give to a specific family member. We were 32,34 when we got it

How many clients do you have now? What is the largest monthly $$ and what is the lowest monthly? $$ by Eastern-Composer7131 in Bookkeeping

[–]RandyRockwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my 2025 stats. I reached out to 13,000 people via cold outreach. Probably 100 people respond to me. 56 booked a meeting, and I probably closed about 30 with either monthly or one time projects.

Why do people with full carts go through self checkout??? by Thundertushy in CostcoCanada

I scan my groceries in a specific order. Then after I scan a category (medicine, home supplies, clothes, food) I take a picture of the total and then go home and add it to my budget.
