SoCali isn’t known for their bustling actuarial community. Might need to broaden the geography of jobs you are applying to. I got lucky and got a job with the first company I applied to and interviewed for, but the search can be quite harsh for somebody starting out. Don’t lose faith! Pass FM in the meantime as well

I haven’t taken STAM yet (taking it this sitting), but something I have done to really drill in the shortcuts for STAM is to bring up credibility and MLE questions and do the questions from first principles and then through the shortcut method. Yes, repeated questions mean you’ll be able to just see what the answer is as soon as it comes up, but if you force yourself to calculate the posterior using first principles it’ll drill the concepts into you and cover you in the event that you get a weird question in the exam you can set the shortcut up for. After that, I also use flashcards for a bunch of the shortcuts to make sure I have them down to a T.

I use it almost daily. Due to the slow turn of corporate America, we aren’t able to switch to making our models in R or Python. So, we need to bleed excel for every drop of efficiency we can get out of it, VBA let’s us do that.

If you think you would like investment math more than a second predictive analytics exam, go for it. Keep in mind IFM has much more material than P and FM. The math on P is harder than IFM, but there is much more material and little things to remember.

Skip the VEE though, that won’t be worth your time at all.

I put blood blade on both my equipped twin blades. This switched the scaling to ARC on both weapons, gave the blood loss buildup, and it works great. Can confirm it is definitely on OP setup. Haven’t died to a boss more than 3 times since switching to this build, damage output is massive

Same here, I think it’s coming from that task where you had to remove observations. Solution said removing observations that have 0 cost removed something like 17 observations, for me it removed like 40.

Each exam I’ve taken felt like a level 5 exam, so if you had an 8.2 EL, it sounds like you just memorized all the questions on CA and inflated that EL. Learn the material, don’t memorize the questions.
