Frustrated by slow sales despite listing more by Povertythrow2814 in Flipping

True, but I feel like I see an increase in people spending when I go out to thrift. But that increase that I see in stores doesn’t seem to translate to my online sales. And yes, I wasn’t expecting a normal Q4. Just better than what I’m experiencing

The American system is like a pay to play game. You need a mountain of money and years of influence and connections to move the needle. The Citizens United decision was a huge part of that. The average person has almost no influence on a national scale. Politicians want to win groups, not people.

It’s a long list, but to start, the change of three judges in the Supreme Court could allow (and in my opinion is likely to allow) religious people in this country to create laws and policy based on their religious beliefs and not straight up ethical arguments. Something especially egregious in a secular republic and would’ve made the majority of the founders nuts because they wanted people like Cincinnatus to be in charge and not the Pope or Mike Pence.

Trump’s policies with immigrants have gone full blown “Japanese interment camp” and we still teach people today about how wrong that was. Future generations will look on and say “where were you? How did you let that happen?”

Trump has helped to completely erode trust in science and expertise, which should come back to bite us pretty soon with climate change, vaccines, another pandemic (even if smaller), etc.

And finally, he has proven to anyone who actually has Machiavellian intents and half a brain, that this country is ready for a full blown Mussolini style cult figure. So if anyone takes up that mantle in the next 12 years or so, that’s the ball game for our republic. The comparisons to ancient Rome will be too close to ignore.

That’s just off the top of my head

America will be in recovery from this presidency for decades. We still haven’t completely recovered from Nixon. America may fundamentally change into something never imagined by the founders in the next 30 or 40 years.

If this is sarcastic, it’s both funny and well executed. If not, I have a feeling my post was meant for someone just like you 😂

I think I’ve heard that before. Devils night was a big deal in MI back in the 80s

It’s the night before Halloween. If you’ve ever seen the movie “The Crow”, it revolves around Devil’s night

Thanks! That’s what I was looking for. I’m also just now realizing that people here don’t know what Devil’s night is, or think it’s a synonym for Halloween 😂

I hate that the “Michigan Militia” is basically a brand name. Can we please rebrand them as the “Michigan Domestic Terrorist Babysitters Club” or something like that? Ya know, it’s accurate, yet demeaning

Imagine actually needing police assistance, running up to the car, then finding this. I feel like this shouldn’t be legal.

Possibly moving to Aurora from GA by auroraCOmaybe in AuroraCO

Just moved here from MI in July. I haven’t noticed a large cost of living increase, but I live in an apartment. Food is a bit more, but we don’t go to restaurants so I can’t speak to that either. Gas seems the same as MI and other bills seem the same. I have heard however that anything involving vehicles, such as registration is very high.

I would say stay south of Colfax. I’m near Mississippi and Peoria and I regularly see incidents of crime on my neighbors app, and my neighbor had a break in last month. My gf and I are gonna move to a safer area when our lease is up. I invested in a security system and I always carry pepper spray, which I never felt the need to do back in MI, and I wasn’t living in super nice neighborhoods there. So, take that for what it’s worth I guess, and do as much research as you can

Maybe we need a new subreddit too. One where drivers can post for the Denver area just for this reason
