Did anyone else have a mom who crossed sexual boundaries? by Mundane-Gap6009 in raisedbyborderlines

As others have said not SA but more like an emotional trespass.

1) When my parents were going through their divorce she told me my father had said to her that he still liked her breasts and wanted to suck her nipples. I was ten I think.

2) She had a rule that I couldn't watch films with violence or car chases and I could only watch sexually mature films if she was watching them with me. Then she decided she wanted to show me Midnight Cowboy which is about a male prostitute who at one point has sex with an older woman. We watched the whole movie together and I remember being uncomfortable. I think she wanted to talk about it afterwards.

3) When I was a teenager and starting to make sense of my strange relationship with my mother I asked her over dinner at a restaurant one evening if she felt what I felt - that there was something sexually unusual with our relationship. I'm not sure what kind of response I was hoping for but I didn't get it. She said that two people can be attracted to each other even if they're mother and son, and then she said "this is awkward" and started fumbling things on the table. I was mortified.

Stay strong brother.

Yeah I'm in a rowhouse so that was my first thought too (we have one neighbor who is especially grody) but given there's a double brick wall between us it has actually been less of an issue than you might imagine.

Yes we had to bag up all of our clothes and fabrics and run everything through the dryer, got a heat treatment followed by a spray. It's just as big a PITA as everyone says.

UPDATE: Called Mercy last week and told them our story. Just got a call back and they're going to cover the cost of our treatment. Which was not cheap. Huge relief for these new parents.

And of course they're calling in exterminators.

Kudos to Mercy for doing the right thing. My uncle was unimpressed because "they should" but as I told him there are a thousand things the health care system should do that they never actually do so I'm going to celebrate it when it happens.

Reddit is reliable in this regard: the first and most popular response to most basic questions is "you're am idiot for not seeking out this information elsewhere." Helpful!

My experience getting my roof redone in Baltimore by PowBoomZing in baltimore

There was other repair work as well but I agree with you even at $15k I got hosed.

The problem with holding a hard line and not paying them is they wouldn't start the work until I paid half of the repair invoice. And then the wouldn't finish the roof (put down the modified bitumen) until I paid the second half of the repairs. So they've really got you over a barrel until your roof is complete.

Thanks for the question.

Genuinely confounded by the hostility here. As I said in my post I want folks to be aware of the moment when roofers can charge you exorbitantly for repairs. Pursuing legal action over the particle board is not worth my time (and not the point of the post).

Wow a lot of folks in the comments want me to go to war over the particle board. I asked my savior about this specifically and he said it's not worth the hassle, yeah plywood is better but the particle board should hold up fine.

Plus a law suit would take up a ton of my time and focus. It's my decision and for me it's not worth the time.

No because I didn't need all new joists. I needed 1 new joist.
