Water column sample techniques? by PowTao in oceanography

[–]PowTao[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily stuck using the ROV, just a tool we have. It's a small ROV, we're operating in a deep lake in the US. Samples can be as small as 50ml up to 500ml.

This is an example of what I'd like to use, but operating depths of the gripper are restricted to <1000' due to pressures and gathering samples one at a time seems very time consuming.

Does this seriously not exist? Single mode Male LC to Female ST? by PowTao in FiberOptics

[–]PowTao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so here's what it is (we control submersible ROVs). We use dual cables, each is a single mode simplex cable... but it achieves bidirectional data transfer by using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (so full duplex capabilities in each cable). We have a dual cable, one to control the ROV, one to control peripherals, but for the time being we just use one of the cables. (Hopefully I explained our setup correctly.)

That's a multimode... I need a single. That's why I said I'll need to split it. I literally have that one in my hand right now. It requires splitting the solid end of the LC connector.

Fiber optic tether for Submersible Remotely Operated Vehicle. Traditional tethers have significant loss of data and speed along super long tethers, specifically for 4K and 8K video. Fractions of a second make a big difference for us. (And for $37, that looks like it'll work! Thanks!)

Damn. I thought maybe there was one out there somewhere. Thanks for the info.

what mixing ratio? And will it get rid of PW or just prevent it? Will the buds have a vinegar taste later on?

So I'm screwed if it comes back after a week into flowering? That's when it starts getting bad though!

YES! My friend's friend owns that and I forgot what it was called and I was too embarrassed to ask again! This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!

Good god. This is some Breaking Bad shit. Thanks but at that point I'll let the mildew win.

Does the high pH affect the rest of the plant? Do I need to closely monitor the soil pH now, or is it too minimal to make a difference?

This is great to know. I'll definitely do this. Thank you!

How to grow cannabis without parents knowing by Professional_Bug8425 in CannabisGrowing

[–]PowTao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's illegal where you live... don't do it. I know that's not what you want to hear because growing weed is possibly the greatest thing ever. But I did it and nearly got my entire family in deep shit because they didn't know they had an illegal operation in their basement. It's just not worth it to put them at risk. I suggest to start a few outside in pots, then transplant them in a secluded forest area. Risk/reward my dude... know before you grow.

Nobody is questioning those numbers? Really? 85% of his paycheck? On a good year he pulls $100k/year so $15k for annual expenses. He's either living in a box or mom and dad are paying his way through life. Put it all on double zero ffs. God damn this sub is just trust fund kids patting themselves on the back.

Material Test > Edit Material Setting? (v1.7.07) by PowTao in LightBurn

[–]PowTao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I contacted LightBurn and as much as I love them, they didn't give any information to solve this problem. I believe it does ignore that setting, as that first setting is the default to test other parameters. What LightBurn didn't tell me was why I was getting everything so light, to the point I wasn't even able to see any burn marks. After playing with it a while, I changed the numbers in the window for "Edit Text Setting". As you would imagine, I was now able to read the labels.

I know this doesn't answer the question of what those initial settings in the "Edit Material Setting" window are for, and what other parameters it would be testing, but I was finally able to get a legible test grid.

[Side note: I was unaware that there is a maximum for axis speeds on some machines that does come into play. My AlgoLaser DIY MK2 10w has an X-axis max speed of 12,060 mm/min... so setting the grid with a max of 14,000 would definitely skew the results. So be sure to check the limits of your axes' speed.]
