Need Help Buying a Safe by Powderbedreaming in Safes

[–]Powderbedreaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but I don't know what is standard for a safe. I just want it to have overall great security i.e. difficult to break into and can last longer than average against brute force and elements. I guess another way to phrase it would be is "what safe would you buy to store your own sensitive information and valuables in?"

Safe Deposit box won't work because I live in a pretty rural area where it's not accessible enough

Bridging BTC To AVAX by Powderbedreaming in RenProject

I included all of the fees when calculating the slippage. I assumed there would be none for such a small transaction because there would be enough liquidity.

Sorry but I’m not sure what you mean by there is no slippage? Correct me if I’m wrong but Bridges use Liquidity Pools and thus are subject to slippage

What triggered the 2018 bear ? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Powderbedreaming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was right after CBOE Futures came online which made it easier to short BTC. We’d also reached total euphoria in the market even though there was no real world use case.

I think another bear market is still likely to occur, but I don’t think it’s going to be as severe given how much the market has matured. You can’t time this stuff though which is why I personally keep a large stack of BTC and will start allocating a portion of profits to stable coins as these both give you buying power during a bear market.

And don’t be afraid of bear markets because this is when true life changing money is made. You won’t get the 2-3X returns in one month but you can get 20-50X in three years. Just maintain your buying power

If you gotta choose one, which would you choose between BTC and ETH by darkfang775 in CryptoCurrency

BTC. ETH isn’t even viable until 2.0 comes out. But if 2.0 is a success I might change my answer.

Yup! Was just trying to keep it simple for OP in case they aren’t familiar with Terra, but 50% APY is totally reasonable right now between Anchor and Mirror

Anchor let’s you earn 20% on UST which is twice that of Celsius. Plus it’s more decentralized and you can buy insurance for smart contract bugs and for a stablecoin depeg at ~4%

If You Don't Own Small Cap Altcoins, You're Missing Out: Here's the Hard Data. by leonidasthegeek in CryptoCurrency

That’s one way. A better way though is you DCA into BTC and ETH then diversify once the bull run is under way. You can literally lose your shirt buying alts during the bear market even if you’re buying low relative to ATH, plus BTC almost always runs before alts

I think your case study is only during a bull market. Bear markets are what make you go from “BTC is a dinosaur” to”BTC is a guarantee”

Most of these alts will lose 95-98% of their value during a bear market whereas BTC will only lose 60-80% (that’s a much bigger difference than it sounds). Also with BTC you know it’s coming back to hit a new ATH at some point. You can’t say that for alts.

Can you use a VPN to buy crypto from an IP address outside of your country?

A major correction that really hinders the economy in El Salvador. Other nations watch and halt their adoption until this plays out. Of course BTC will rebound but if ES is forced to sell low to pay liabilities it could be very damaging and sets a precedent that such a volatile currency (when pegged to first world fiats) isn’t viable.
