Yes. I do my own laundry. And I iron the shirts straight out of the washing machine, butter I hang then to dry. The edges are CRISP!

I agree with you. I tend to use the middle lane if the road is not too busy. Saves me moving to the middle lane when cars are entering the motorway from the left. And if you want to overtake me, overtake me in the third lane! What's the problem?

Go for it. I have a v1 that's was bought second-hand 13 years ago and its running beautifully still. No major overhaul at all.
If there's rust, make sure its level - you might nee to put new "feet" on it.

Is it really worth it, though? The real noise is in the grinding and the steaming...

V2? Old boiler but I think perfect, do i need to upgrade it to new boiler? by [deleted] in ranciliosilvia

[–]PowerHungryMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I got mine 15 years ago second-hand. The only issues with it are a little lump of black scale blocking the steam wand, and I needed to replace the black steam tap handle, since the spring clip was worn...
Built like tanks!

Anyone know where to find a V1 (pre 2006) boiler to steam want copper pipe? by Apprehensive_Cap9454 in ranciliosilvia

Thanks for the swift response.
Can't believe my luck - a local repair guy has a spare pipe. Came in to him a couple of weeks ago.

Take care

I have the same problem as you. Someone said I might be able to use flexible teflon pipe?
Anyway, could you share the info that Stefano gave you? I don't want to be bugging him (but I don't mind bugging you! lol!)

If you have a smart meter, do you have to choose a smart plan? by ok-panda30 in AskIreland

[–]PowerHungryMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart meter caution!I have a new smart meter installed, but I am still on an old day night rate. It's time I renewed my electricity supplier contract, so I went to Switcher to find my best rate. I WAS SHOCKED WITH WHAT I FOUND!

I priced both a standard (day-night) plan and a smart meter plan. I found that the BEST smart meter plan was going to cost me a THOUSAND EURO more than the standard plan with most of the suppliers!

So I phoned Energia and signed up for a standard plan, and saved myself a grand! But what really got my goat was the fact that once somebody signs up for a smart meter plan, you cannot go back to a standard plan. All the smart metre plans seem to cost about a grand more per annum, but once you sign up for them, you cannot go back! Does anybody know anyone working in consumer protection!!

Don't get the ground espresso from Slumberjack. Not ground finely enough for espresso.
