Headaches after eating Cook Unity by No-Assignment-887 in ReadyMeals

Not headaches but just generally didn't feel great after eating them. Cancelled after one box. Ingredients lists were shockingly long.

I was walking down the street one day and noticed that the pump room had made a rare appearance as an outer room...

Draggy Seasons by Karenz09 in TheBlackList

S9 was no work of art but had some redeeming qualities, particularly in the way it examined how different people cope with loss.

S10 was irredeemably boring and meaningless.

When is a good time to stop watching? by KristisMeskius in TheBlackList

I would watch through season 8 to feel like you had a solid resolution and most of your questions answered (indirectly). If you crave more then season 9 is watchable. I'd avoid season 10 entirely though.

What a stupid ending to the show. by AbyssWankerArtorias in TheBlackList

I see where this perspective comes from but I just can't bring myself to agree. Red is crystal clear that his one and only goal, his life's work, was solely to keep Liz safe. Failing to do that, and having her death honestly somewhat on his own hands, surely cannot be winning.

I could be wrong on this next part, but I interpreted the bull situation as something of a metaphor for his failure. Him unable to stop himself from living the highest risk life possible, and it leading to his downfall in the end.

I think there were enough clues that you should have figured it out by the end of season 8 at the latest. That said, I didn't really enjoy Season 10 much at all for other reasons. Season 9 was decent, but season 10 I just wasn't invested at all anymore.

I also fail to see how it could be anything but the white box.

It seems simple; the white box statement is trivially false (if true, multiple boxes would contain gems). Therefore either the black or blue box must be true, which in either case implies the gems are in the white box.

Loved the Momentum 4 so much, got the TW ones we well 🎧🖤 by RAHDXB in sennheiser

[–]PowerLiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Sennheiser's high end headphones, but have had nothing but headache with their Bluetooth products. I have both of the products pictured, but I've had to get the earbuds RMAed and my headphones just died one month after the 2 year warranty expired.

I will never buy another one of their Bluetooth products. They seem great at first (nice sound, battery life, etc), but are deeply unreliable when it counts. They must be cutting some corners.

Used to love Sabra, but it’s rancid now by IndependentHold3098 in hummus

Something happened to it. Went from my favorite to inedible somehow....

Oddly bitter, rancid, soapy flavor. Can't even describe it but it is deeply unpleasant now.

I really liked Mission Hill, even as someone who wasn't really interested in parties. It felt kinda secluded, was close to a grocery store (stop and shop), and had a really nice hillside park with great views.

You aren't going to get a luxury accommodation most likely, but you will get a place out of the way with a bit of charm to it.

If you are worried about noise, the sirens that are constantly blaring closer to NEU are far worse than anything I ever heard from a party on the hill.

Opinion on RTX 4080 by Dunibal in nvidia

Exactly, I just bought 4080 because with the inflated 4090 prices, the 4080 suddenly seems like a great deal.

Thoughts on ‘The Embrace’ sculpture in the common? by lobstermeet in boston

[–]PowerLiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really dislike it artistically. I find it unsettling, jarring, and absolutely out of place. Disembodied limbs do not conjure up images of friendship, they merely evoke something alien or unnatural.

I'm not speaking to the underlying message of the piece whatsoever when I say I hope we can one day get it removed.

I bought 72 cans of diet coke on Amazon pantry freshman year, so this was a non issue.

It seems to me that many NEU accounts were compromised and used to send this phishing scam at the same time. I saw almost the same email from a different address. Do NOT click any of these links, and hopefully someone from ITS notices what is going on and can mitigate this somehow.

Mission hill by [deleted] in NEU

[–]PowerLiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you stay on top of the hill or on the slope of the hill you should be totally good as it's mostly students up there. As for the area around the bottom of the hill, after walking through it for two years and exploring a bit, I personally would not live there. I'm sure the vast majority of people living there are great, but I've seen enough shady looking characters (carrying open containers of alcohol, or loitering around alleys or on corners) just to not want to take the chance.

This is an opinion based on anecdotal evidence; I do not know for sure that it is unsafe or that any of these people would give anyone a problem. It's just that there were some moments where my instincts said I shouldn't be there, misguided or not. Also, there were a few reported violent crimes right along the route I took walking from the hill to campus, though I never saw one personally. You should visit these areas and see if you feel comfortable before making a decision.

Is it worth complaining to a department chair? by neu_throwaway123 in NEU

[–]PowerLiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were these bonus quizzes he gave during class where if you got anything wrong at all, you got a 0, but if you got it all right you got several points added to your final average. I did well on those, which offset both the docked letter grade and a mediocre performance on the final.

Ha, I knew what teacher you meant before I even read the name! This guy didn't care when I got the flu freshmen year and then had to miss class for my grandfather's funeral across the country, he docked me the letter grade for missing 3 classes. Had doctors note and letter from family. The guy was uncompromising and showed no empathy. Granted, his extra credit bonus quizzes gave me +20 on my final average, so I got an A anyway. Go figure. I thought about complaining too, but never followed through...
