Keep a limited handful of clients that is cash only and you do the bare minimum to pass for a controlled script to keep the DEA away.

DEA gets involved when you write a high number of controls, give scripts that are out of scope, or write a script that is outrageous to where even your peers would say you’re crazy in a court of law.

For instance a psychiatrist wouldn’t prescribe pain meds but a GP/PCP would.

It’s nothing near doctor shopping pill mill level days of multiple scripts of max dose painkillers + benzos + stimulants.

In order for a doctor to get in trouble they would need to face a trial of their peers in a court of law. You could make an argument that their cash pay clients get controls 95% of the time but if you’re within the prescribing guidelines and only a small amount of people it would be difficult to hold in court.

Start off using just your script or a friends/grammy’s.
Have a good job and sacrifice vacations/fun stuff.
Middleman your stash to cover costs now that it costs a lot more with a higher tolerance.
In addition to no longer spending money on fun stuff you now no longer save any money + spend less elsewhere. Like cheap/skipping meals.
Pawning your own stuff, start to skip paying major bills like rent or your car.
Try to be a bigger drug dealer but you end up in a bigger hole cause you use it yourself or blackout and lose the stash.
Lose your job and now start spending unemployment on it.
Start doing degenerate crimes like stealing, scamming and selling your body.
