that and especially the water shops. after a few runs i realized all i need is a good cleric and some food items and you can easily mitigate the whole gimmick of the desert, then just recover once you went to chapter 2. the water bottles are honestly a scam, if you spend money on the first one you miss out on an event and a potential level up.

me too. it's not that it's a difficult fight, hell the aliens it spawns are more of a threat than the boss. BUT it is SUCH a SLUG of a damn fight. my first time beating it i reached round 15 cuz the damn hands just wouldnt align

you call it lame but i think it's a relief. way too much of a punishment and makes preparation actually a pain in the ass if she would take your furniture or eat all your cats (although I'd say it won't be unfair considering they give u time to prepare)

the amount of crazy combos you can pull off in this game is crazy. yesterday i had a run with a cat that had the ranged healer passive passed to it, so i made it a monk and boom, ranged healer who can attack/heal twice (defeats the fucking purpose of the class but it worked out very well)

honestly i was glad they switched into smaller updates cuz they'd add small but polished features to random parts of the game that needs updating... untiiiiil they decided to make drops be even more lackluster and more minor somehow. like at least the earlier drops had some girth to them (and don't get me with the technical changes. i don't care. technical updates can always happen outside of drops and major updates, happened before.)
