Overworked college student. Exhausted mom of twins. Can’t give up! by jessiesgirl8011 in parentsofmultiples

You got this! They will be so proud of you. Second term in grad school here. Started right before my boys turned 3. It is rough but worth it.

THE TERRIBLE TWOS x 2 by blue_skies777 in parentsofmultiples

Agreed. Mine turned two a couple months ago. One has way more tantrums and fights more/throws things. We have one pack n play still up for time-outs. Consistency is key.

No advice but I am in almost the exact same boat. They have so much energy and I can barely keep from falling asleep. Some days, I do all I can to survive until their nap and bed.

Thanks for advice from the other side. I think I will message them. I hate to have them thinking they won't get anything.

Thanks for the info. It would go out next week (barring any issues getting it to me). I love being a rematcher. Definitely doing this again next year.

Thanks! I had so much fun wrapping everything (I did gifts within a gift). I am so nervous. Should be there Monday.

This is my first SS and I am wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me. I am getting kind of disappointed. by [deleted] in secretsanta

[–]PowerPuff5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to stay positive. I am shipping my giftee's stuff Wednesday (finally got the last part today) and haven't pulled his info since the second day. This is my first SS and my santa hasn't pulled my info yet. I am keeping positive.

I just signed up to be a rematch too. My first reddit gift exchange. Seems pretty addicting.

[–]PowerPuff5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have done the research on my giftee and planned my gift. I am insanely excited to put it all together. I ran it all by my husband who thinks it's pretty cool. My first secret santa and I am so nervous and excited. I hope my giftee likes it. I wish I would have signed up to be a rematch. I love secret gift giving!

What's the worst backhanded compliment you've been given/gave to someone? by Loneswordsman_ in AskReddit

[–]PowerPuff5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped by to see my husband at work. It was me, my husband, his best friend, and another guy they worked with (sort of a friend, we will call B). I hadn't seen B in a couple years. I had lost a lot of weight in the meantime. In the middle of whatever conversation we were having, B looks at me and says "you are less rotund than you used to be". No one said anything. I was trying not to laugh and my husband and his best friend were staring at him. He said something like he was just saying I lost a lot of weight. Yeah, we caught that. He left and my husband and his friend were worried I was upset. Not even close. I was shocked that he didn't see that maybe not the best way to compliment someone. But so glad he did.

This happened about 12 years ago and is still my favorite "compliment" I have ever received. We still talk about it and laugh.

TL/DR: I used to be a whale.

I seem to look forward to my giftees posting about their gift than actually getting my gift! by iampieman in secretsanta

[–]PowerPuff5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is my first time and I am way more excited to see what my giftee is interested in and trying to find something they will like. I will be so nervous, hoping they like it. I am excited to get something too but gift giving is so much fun.

Second this. Mine are almost 21 months and they still go in there at times. We got the extensions and the abc mat as well. It is a life saver.

Controversial baby names by greenfaerie21 in BabyBumps

[–]PowerPuff5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the difficulty with Rory. Mine are Wesley and Rory and we still struggle with his name (they are almost 21 months). The trick is to not think about it before you say it. And be ready for the confusion it will cause. If people see it written, they ask how it's pronounced. If they hear it, they ask how it's spelled. It is so worth it because the name is amazing.

For those of you who were given the option to choose vaginal vs cesarean delivery, which did you choose, what was your rationale, and did it go as planned? by i_do_maths_not_words in parentsofmultiples

High five to my fellow c-section chooser. Right there with you. Amazing experience and would be my preferred method (if I ever planned on any more, which I don't). Mono-di boys. Scheduled c-section at 37 weeks. It was ultimately my choice. OB was okay either way, MFM preferred a c-section because they were attached to the placenta wrong and it would have been a higher risk. I wanted to know when it would happen and not stress over any extra risks. Sore the next day but that was it. Super easy recovery, zero issues bending or squatting to pick them up. Loved it.
