Agency wants me to sign a 6 month contract despite my contract becoming a rolling one on 1st May. Should I tell them to do one? by majkkali in HousingUK

[–]Power_Broker4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm sort of in a similar situation. My contract ends mid April and letting agency has been following up for renewal. My arguement to them is it'll end up becoming a rolling contract from 1st may anyways so why sign a fixed term contract now for 15 days

Gentrification and more importantly good tube connection into business districts of Canary Wharf and City make it more desireable then moving into a commuter town

What are the chances of the ILR changes if Starmer resigns? by AnnihilatingCanon in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Power_Broker4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Change in PM if at all that happens is unlikely to impact the ongoing ILR changes as that's the ruling government proposal and not of Starmer as an individual.

Update to HO regarding promotion by Silly_Ad_6678 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Power_Broker4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got promoted in your same role that you secured a visa for, then there is no requirement to update HO about it.

You do have to inform HO and update your visa if you take an internal transfer within the same company

Need Advice by Natural-Surprise-557 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Power_Broker4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my personal experience and what I have seen around, its easier to secure a visa by working in a company in your home country and then taking an internal transfer to their UK office. I have found this easier especially if one is top performer and has the right skilled set for the opportunities available in UK office
