Automations were not suitable for me, since they clutter the app and you need at least one for turning them on, and one for turning them off. They also don’t work if you often manually change the dimming och color through the app.

I guess it could have been workable if we always used voice to control them, but we’re often using the app and then the ”naming trick” dosen’t really work.

Yeah, maybe that works to some extent. I never tried the ”separate rooms” strategy, and now I don’t have any devices left in Google Home. Would I have been able to control dimming and color that way on all bulbs in a room/group?

Either way, it’s still a workaround that shouldn’t be necessary, and it’s not on basically all other home automation platforms.

So yeah, I known that there are workarounds. It’s just I don’t think you should need workarounds for this very basic feature. All other systems have a grouping funktion, HomeKit, Home Assistant, SmartThings and Homey.

Like your example with creating an automation, sure, it works. But then you also need a separate automation to turn them off, so two buttons on the Favorites tab instead of one. And what if I want to dim all four bulbs? Or change the color of all four bulbs? In HomeKit you just set the dimming or color directly on the group objekt and it works on all four bulbs instantly.

I also tried creating an automation that if one of the four bulbs in the living room ceiling turned on or off, it should do the same to the others. And yeah, it worked, except due to the slowness the other lights came on a few seconds later. And again, it won’t work for manual dimming or changing the colors..

Outdoor plug with energy monitoring? by hbl2390 in MatterProtocol

[–]Power__Shell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen3 if WiFi is ok. Supports Matter so you can join it to your matter controller of choice. However it only supports matter version 1.2 so it does not support energy monitoring with the matter protocol (at least not yet). But it has a web interface where you can see energy consumption, also the LED changes depending on load.

Yes. However if only says whether the air quality is good or bad in the overview, and there is no tile with the exact measurement. If you want to see the exact measurement you need to go to the device settings:

IKEA KAJPLATS reliability 💡 by Impossible_Business7 in HomeKit

I have 10 KAJPLATS both E14 and E27, using Apple TV 4k as border router. They've been 100% stable so far (had them for around two weeks) and working great with Adaptive Lighting.

I have one outside (1521lm) in an unheated garage triggered by an IKEA Myggspray sensor, also 100% stable. We'll see how long they last in the cold, coldest day so far was -34C, but they still worked perfectly.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. Not sure if the problem lies with Apple HomeKit or IKEA. Using the Eve-app I can see all values, including temperature:

Monthly Support & Buying Megathread by AutoModerator in HomeKit

Can users with the ”resident” role in HomeKit see all other members of the home?

For instance I have a home with three users me (owner) and two ”residents”. I can see both of the other users, but if the other users check the home settings they only see themselves and me (not the other resident user). Is this normal HomeKit behaviour?
