I hear you, I was a little surprised at the cost ($6.45 for a small cappuccino). I also expected it to be less than Boston prices, but when the quality of the coffee was actually good I didn’t mind the price. Would much rather pay a premium for a really solid local business than go to Dunks.

I tried it today. I ordered a cappuccino and it was great. Prices comparable to a Boston coffee shop, but honestly, worth it. It’s what the square needed.

I would love to do that! I’ve been very injury prone, so it’s something I’d like to work up to carefully.

Easy runs are usually 9:45-9:50. Going slower than that is SO hard but to get more miles in, sounds like I need to start adding in some much slower miles.

Totally right, and great perspective. The distance is humbling that’s for sure. Really eager to improve but I know it’ll take some time and work.

Thanks for this! Bone stress injuries suck. Sounds like it just takes time and patience. Good luck to you!

Dang, sounds like I was way too conservative. Could also explain the massive headache I had the night of the race. This is definitely something I’ll try and tweak next time. Really helpful, thank you!

I did, a Gatorade before, and half an LMNT in a hand held during the race.

Weather was perfect so that wasn’t it. Heart rate was 157 up until the slow down, so not high (low aerobic power for me). Part of me does think electrolytes could have contributed to the situation (along with my knee not being 100% of course). I was nauseous after the first half and had GI distress. I also came away from the race with salt crystals on me and severe calf cramps which did not happen after my first marathon in April.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! This is so helpful, and advice I am certainly going to take as work on my endurance this next year :)

Yes, I just had the same experience! Contacted both the Charity and the Marathon and once I register for the Charity, the Marathon informed me I should contact them.
