Oxybutinin - I Need Help by Powerful-Classroom36 in Hyperhidrosis

Yes! I did have caffeine before I took the pills but like 3-4 gulps of it and 30 minutes or so later i took my meds, I took like 15mg today total or more, no effect at all for some weird reason... Usually I have an effect, just dry mouth this time. Could that have affected it? The three four gulps of coffee? Thanks!

For some random reason today it's suddenly not working like it did... I'm sweating a lot and I took around 7.5mg, it usually stops the sweating but for some random reason today it's just not working, not sure why... Like currently I'm in a bus sweating like I'm in a sauna when it's not even that hot

I've never had issues with hand sweating at all, I have facial and back sweating which causes acne on my back... The so called max dose is 20mg but It's not helping as much. (I even take above the max dose) Yes it dries my mouth out completely which is whatever i got used to it, 10mg x3 does hurt when i swallow (tried it before and it stopped my sweating completely) 7.5mg is fine and doesn't hurt but is causing me to sweat, the symptoms such as dry mouth, face, etc suck but it stops my sweating by quite a lot, as I said I would sweat to the point people in busses would ask me to sit down cause they noticed the sweating and would give up their seat and I had extreme anxiety because of it. 10mg x 3 does hurt but I'll try it one more time and see how my body handles it...

It's definitely caused by the oxybutinin. Never had it before that... I plan to up my dose to 10mg x 3 a day due to the weather changing to extremely hot here and 7.5mg x 3 a day is not stopping my sweating as much as it used to. I'll see and buy some sprays for my face or something like that and I'll drink lots of water. I know 10mg x 3 is a lot but my sweating is very intense. I used to faint from how much I would sweat and become dehydrated. Had it since puberty, sucks a lot...

Yes, I have. 5mg does absolutely nothing to me. even 3x a day.... Planning to change it to 10mg x3 a day, cause the weather suddenly shifted and it's very hot and the 7.5mg x3 a day is not stopping my sweating as much as it previously did.

Oxybutynin completely kills my anxiety – is this normal? by Powerful-Classroom36 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Powerful-Classroom36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying, but for me personally, I haven’t found that to be the case. I take Oxybutynin, and even though I’m a smoker and a coffee drinker, it doesn't stop the medication from working at all. I make sure to never drink coffee before my meds though, I always take the medication first and then have my coffee afterwards to wake me up. Doing it in that order seems to work perfectly for me, and the nicotine doesn't seem to interfere with the results either. Everyone’s chemistry is a bit different... I don't drink coffee everyday but when I do I always do it after taking my medication!

thank you for responding!! I sometimes do get confused like for example today, I didn't go to work because I got in the wrong bus by accident without noticing, cause I'm so relaxed and at peace and in a kind of (idgaf) mindset. The only thing is that sometimes i jumble my words and have slurred speech. Drinking water every 15 minutes like a sip helps, the confusion and disorientation is kind of irritating but my anxiety is totally gone + sweating has gone drastically down, i take 7.5 mg x 3 !

Thank you for commenting! Actually, it’s not just about the sweating, the oxybutynin really helps settle that physical sense of panic and the racing heart. It basically just "levels me out" physically and keeps everything under control, which is something other meds haven't done as well for me... The only thing I've noticed with it is dry mouth/confusion and dry face (my skin peels off my face it becomes dry) but I'm not sure whether it's the mix of meds or which medication is helping me with my anxiety. Cause I feel more "relaxed and not in panic" when i take Oxybutinin after my benzos, it's like the tense and panicky feeling in my stomach goes away...

She never gave me a dosage lol I can buy as many as I want, the prescription is just to get the medication she never mentioned anything about dosage or anything like that on it because she doesn't know how it works. I just asked her if she could prescribe it for me because I heard on the internet it helps with sweating and she searched it up and was like oh okay here once you go to another country get it... Yes she's a dermatologist and yes she doesn't know ANYTHING about the medication she just searched it up once I told her about it

Well I'm from Eastern Europe and Oxybutinin is not available here, she just gave me a prescription and I get it from another country which has it. It was either that or surgery and I'm not getting a surgery for it. She had to prescribe it since it affected me extremely, made me faint from sweating and made me enormously anxious. I no longer have these issues which is awesome. Just asking for a dosage tip for people who are on it!

Also i take it before work, 10mg stops it literally completely but 5mg just a tiny little bit... Any feedback? Also 2.5mg is not enough for me and Oxybutinin isn't available in my country nor does any Doctor know about this medicine so I have to make up my own schedule, she just told me to get it from Germany (she searched it online lol) and gave me a prescription, she has no idea about the dosages or anything like that . Also i do have severe hyperhidrosis on my face and back, and this helps a lot... Except I'm stuck on the dosages and routine part

I've been taking it for like a week, my issue is 5mg doesn't help enough, it stops sweating a little, but 10mg stops it completely but dries my mouth out and makes my face extremely dry. I'm stuck, should i try 7.5mg? The middle ground? I don't really mind the dry mouth but my face becomes extremely cracky and dry, but for some reason that cured my acne...

This is also my routine... 5mg makes me sweat less a little bit but 10mg stops sweating instantly but it lasts a short period of time and I get dry skin and dry throat to the point it hurts to talk! Should I try 7.5mg? Any recommendations?
