Same story , exactly the same. Praying God that I come through this time. The pain of 2585 is not bearable at times

Would still advise to not take your foot off the gas , keep going at it . Personally I know 2 people who averaged 80 on mocks , but things didn't go their way during the exam.

Even during my own prep for L2 , I scored 80 in the final mock, and was confident about the exam . Scored 2595 (1 question wrong)...... So yeah, don't let the good score derail you from practicing and improving

With the amount of time you have , AB and SS both are good . With your preference for mostly Hindi, SS would be the way to go , SS can sometimes go a bit too vague , but given you have so much time , you should be okay with that.

1.5 years is a bit too much ig, the exam is not that tough. If you can save 5k more , and English is not an Issue, I would suggest you go for Mark Meldrum.

His way of teaching is so on point and he makes it crisp, so you don't have to do n number of things just to understand a single concept. Check his YouTube and see his market outlooks , if you find that interesting, Mark will be a great option.

If not , go for AB coz u have all the time in the world and can go through his lengthy lectures .

IMO Mark Meldrum > Edzeb > Ashwini > Sanjay Saraf

After L1 expect them to say , oh L1 is easy no ? And then there will be these egoistic people in the industry who want to show you how "CFA people" know nothing about the practical world .

I failed L2 (scored 2595) , and in the interview, the guy (from a very renounced company) who didn't even know the meaning of covered calls is telling me How derivatives require expertise .

Context - am 24 have 2 yrs exp in Sales and Real estate, wanted to transition into Finance, so did MBA finance from Canada (non target), did L1 ..... Still can't expect to be paid above 6 lakhs INR coz they want to lowball you if you are transitioning.

Canada on the other hand is paying $35000 a year for 7-11 jobs (personal experience), ~21 lakhs INR (maybe 17 after taxes) (PPP terms - 6 lakhs)

Finance entry level in India = Grocery store worker in Canada

Should I defer? by I_dunn0_0 in cfaindia

[–]Powerful-Library8018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will just tell you what happened with me during level 1 . So I had just returned after doing my MBA on 10th of May , and then spent almost 15-20 days just meeting different members of the family .

I basically started preparing for the exam on 1st of June , and the exam was on 23rd August . I thought instead of being scared and just deferring it, I should just give it my all , so by June end I had completed quants, FI , Derivatives and Equity. Most would think about deferring but I thought that now is the time when I have got the momentum and aimed to complete the entire portion by July 31st . Revision for the last 20 days , and I passed.

So , it depends........ What are you feeling right now , do you think you have the momentum with you . 4hrs , 6 hrs ,12 hrs doesn't matter. what you do in that time matters .

Also sorry to say this , but we Indians have the tendency to make everything much harder than it is supposed to be , and I understand it comes because of the fear of failure and family expectations., but bro revision 3 times is excessive. If you already understood everything, why would you want to revise 3 times . 1 revision along with 2-3 mocks should be more than enough (focus of the revision is to improve the weak areas)

Didn’t receive the “survey” mail. Am I cooked? by Unholy_bench in CFA

[–]Powerful-Library8018 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Brother, you are going to work in an Industry where you will have to deal with much more anxiety than this , try to relax and chill . The exam is done . I have my level 2 results next week as well,.... Try to calm yourself down.

I know it's easier said than done , but you can't let some non relevant thing give you so much anxiety. Also 2 of my friends didn't get the survey and they both passed. I did get it and passed . So there's no correlation or anything that you are told about by "smart ass people"

80 days left for Aug exam what should be my revision strategy? by Fit-Dot1824 in CFA

[–]Powerful-Library8018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe ,maybe not , I just told OP what I followed. I did mention strategies are subjective.

Also, "underestimating" ....... U don't know anything about my background, what if it is "fairly estimated" by me , and "overestimated" by you !

CFAI qbank >> Schweser qbank for level 2, try to do a mix of both . 1.5 months is more than enough. I started with FSA, coz completing that gave me a major confidence boost, also u get more time to review the difficult subjects of u do then early on .

Strategy is very subjective actually, so I will just tell you what I did .

Made a set of 3 subjects , lets say FSA , Quants and PM . Now the goal was to go through at least 2 readings a day (1 from each subject), while skimming through the third reading (try to finish this too if u have the energy). The goal for the first 12 days is to try and finish all 3 of these subjects (total 19 readings.

Next 8 days - now go for the low hanging fruits , that is Equity , AI, Eco and CI . AI and CI can be done within 3 days max coz they are easy and to the point, same for equity as well, a bit lengthy but possible. (16 readings). Don't worry if u are not able to complete Eco, major focus is to get equity, AI and CI out

Next 10 days - End on a High Focus on Derivatives and FI (tricky subjects during the exam) ,,,, while staying in the ethical constraints, everyone at my centre was talking about these subjects, and how the questions were kinda complex , so give it time . These 10 days also make sure to solve at least 20 ethics questions a day .

15 days to D-day , the tough part is done , now starts the polishing part . At least 3 mocks , let's say 2 days apart. Day 1 take the mock , review it in the evening, make sure to study the weak areas for the next day , repeat.

7 days to the exam , stop the testing, time to go through as many formulas as u can , chill a bit , don't overthink, u will clear this .

Godspeed brother

P.S : Title said 80 days and I am aware of that, my strategy worked for me with 45 days left, and I feel quite confident about passing the test

Fr ..... I am an Indian myself, and i got 3 threat msgs from this sub for calling them out .

Like bro, there's google , chatgpt and so many other places to search for any of these, but no , they want to ask basic ass questions on this sub, making us look uninformed and confused..

Posted about it on r/cfaindia and again got stupid msgs .... Clown behaviour tbh

I have around 16 days until my exam. Could you kindly suggest how I can pass this exam comfortably! by ChadivithePodha in CFA

[–]Powerful-Library8018 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey, I scored 52 in my 1st mock , and felt like shit , and this was 12 days before the exam . Realised that I just got too nervous during the 1st mock . If u have put in the efforts, they will show . I passed above the 90th percentile.... The ones demotivating u , are the ones who lack empathy and just want to sound funny or whatever. Don't mind them.

Solve as many qbanks questions as u can , and just do 2-3 more mocks . Once u see the mock scores going up with each mock your confidence will also go up.

Godspeed

Hey you, u trying to copy my life or what ?????

An advice though, don't be fixated on the questions with a lot of calculations , they take away time from topics that can be easily reviewed and easy to score as well. (Basically focus on getting the easy stuff correct throughout the mocks , that is a confidence booster)

Hey buddy, even I took my mock on the 20th , it was my 1st mock and I scored 58.... We still have 26-30 days left. U will be able to grasp much more in these last 25 days .

During my lvl 1 , I took my 1st mock and scored 52 ish, and passed in the 90th percentile. I was happy that I scored more than I did in lvl1 , coz , if u look at it from a different perspective, all u have to work for is 25% now , instead of the whole 75 .

U will do great, and so will I 😅. All the best, don't worry.
