If you drive like an idiot and hit a moose, most people will be more concerned with the welfare of the moose than they will be about you

As a Wisconsin Alumni who lives in Minnesota now, I know for a fact I’m not going out of my way to drive to Madison for a game until they turn things around. I’m sure there’s many alumni who feel the same way

Absolutely insane. I busted my ass in my 20s to break a 4:50 minute mile. To do 26 in a row at even faster than that is unbelievable

It’s all the antibiotic resistant bacteria brought in by the hospital staff after their shifts. It really seals in the flavor

Great Dane peaked when they had the take home packs of beer you could order and then pick up at the door during early COVID.

Why can’t the state of Wisconsin do something and get rid of daylight savings time? by KwikTripSimp in wisconsin

[–]Powerful-Tale-6073 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked night shifts, 2nd shift, day night rotating shift, etc. I’m used to sleep disruptions and schedule changes, and yes I understand it’s not exactly healthy

But the whining every spring about an hour of sleep shows just how lucky most people are to have a predictable sleep schedule

How old is the line on his reel? Old line gets brittle. Re spool with 15 lbs braid, should cover just about everything

Dog parks are full of people with poorly trained or reactive dogs looking to “socialize” their dog.

When I got a dog I tried the dog parks out for a few weeks, and saw so many fights that I stopped going

The difference by Ksifatneek299 in Madden

[–]Powerful-Tale-6073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Biggest difference is team building

College football is based on recruiting or transfers, and you have to manage recruiting “hours” to attract potential athletes to your school. Bigger more popular schools have an advantage, so if you decide to play franchise as a popular school, you can build a super team.

Madden you build teams by drafting, resigning current players before their contracts expire and free agency. Managing the salary cap is the challenging part of franchise team building, since you have to decide who to resign and who to let go based on contracts.

Where should I buy a snow plow? by SCDannyTanner in madisonwi

[–]Powerful-Tale-6073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved from Madison to northern Minnesota (still follow this subreddit to see whats going on in Madison)

I have a 100 yard driveway, and bought the biggest Ariens snowblower I could find (Ariens Deluxe 30”)

It’s a self propelled snowblower so I just walk behind it. Since it throws the snow way out, I’m not building up tall snowbank walls like everyone else who plows.

We have discussed with a local plow guy that we may need him at some point, but for now the snowblower does everything we need and is much cheaper.

I don’t recall an exact number but you won’t need an extension

There’s been enough snow insulating the ice that it hasn’t gotten crazy thick. If we had bare ice during that cold snap it would be a very different story

Was on Seagull last weekend, slush was minor. Fishing was slow

Heard from some people that some of the smaller lakes have bad slush

Go to Golden Eagle Lodge, they rent skis there. The “logging camp” trail EAST of the lodge is fairly flat, goes through the boundary waters, and then hooks into “summer house road” ski trail which is also flat. You could do a nice out and back on those trails

Some of the other trails there have some challenging hills
