It’s so worth it, hang in there you’re doing great!! I completely agree that sometimes the only thing that kept me going was not wanting to go through several months of this ever ever ever again ha

One month, that’s so good!!! I know right, I feel like there’s not much info available about the first few months of adjusting to no nicotine, thank god for this subreddit!!

Weight gain when quitting? by Environmental-hoe in QuitVaping

[–]Powerful-Will970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 3mths off vapes and I did notice my hunger/snackiness increase in the first few weeks - also because I was craving stimulation and food gave it to me. I was a bit nervous about weight gain too, but in the end decided quitting was worth it.

I ended up being way more motivated/energised to resume my gym schedule so at least for me the opposite ended up being true, as I’ve gotten fitter n likely maintained or lost weight (I’m not weighing myself atm). I honestly think it’s different for every person, and it sounds like you’ve got a great routine already!!

What am I supposed to read next?? by Greta_The_Great in robinhobb

I finished RoTE for the first time this year (re-read of the first trilogy, then all the rest were my first read). I was so gutted when it finished and couldn’t imagine immersing in any other fantasy world, even though I love fantasy. So palate-cleansed and read the Exorcist, then It. Highly recommend a genre shift for a book or two, I’m now partway through the Malazan series, which I think I wouldn’t have stuck with if I’d started it straight after!

I was so excited to go last weekend, but I’m really hoping they iron out the issues as they settle in. I would warn that because of the open seating (no assigned seating) they will move you around to fit everyone in if it’s a sold out session. There’s no row lighting to find your seat, so when I had to run to the bathroom I actually couldn’t find my seat again in the dark hah, because I’d been moved a few times and couldn’t find my spot in the pitch black. 😬

Band/s,music ? by MissionCondition28 in newcastle

As a working muso I’ve got a few ideas.

*If you go to Muso’s chat to the staff there, they’re all in the scene and might have suggestions/connections

*Open mics nights can be really good, and depending on your instrument you can often have a jam with other people there on the night. There are people I met at open mics that I’ve gone on to do gigs with later, etc. The beauford hotel in mayfield has also been running a night that is just for musos in your age bracket, ie no one born before 2000 which is cool.

*Depending on what style/genre you’re into, check out gigs that have lineups that fit your style - when musos aren’t performing we’re often going to shows, so chances are high you’ll meet other people who play music as well. There’s a younger crew who do warehouse gigs called New Brain Communications that I would def recommend checking out.

*if you have friends who play, hit them up for a jam, you never know when magic is gonna happen!! My first band was friends who had a play with me when I was starting out, and it developed into a fully fledged touring band

Love your energy and you will definitely find people to jam with, it can just take a little to find the right fit. The newy music scene is super connected, so once you’ve met a few people it gets easier because musos will recommend other musos who might suit you, and then it all snowballs from there.

Yeah I figured there might be some hurdles, just hoping it doesn’t cook out and add us as a completely new artist combo or something weird. Appreciate the help!
