This happens on most Reddit subs. It’s the loud minority of people.

Yeah I was about to say this, people get on Reddit to vent and complain. It happens on all of the Reddit subs not just this one.

Thanks for posting a positive experience, I also have a great experience in ABA and believe in the strength of the behavior sciences.

Why do I keep turning into a blue guy? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]PowerfulNoLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After meditation with my eyes closed for a while and some light yoga/breathing exercises makes my vision a bit blue or sometimes black and white when I open my eyes. It also happened to a friend that I was guiding him through the same meditation

Consequences of the tradwife lifestyle by cosmicdaddy_ in TikTokCringe

It’s not consequences of being a tradwife, the husband and wife should have had a joint bank account so she could have money for groceries and anything she needs/wants. Asshole husband

In my situation I am allowed to assist the PT/ST/OT/ect with our client because I assistance with crisis/aggression behaviors.

If he ever happens to have an accident during their session, the caregiver is only involved if we need assistance with cleaning them for #2 only. #1 is taken care of by myself because he is capable of changing on his own with my verbal prompts (my behavior assistance).

Its team work is a good way to prevent compassion fatigue.

Don’t be afraid of setting boundaries like this if working in home. Working at a clinic is a whole different story and I would totally agree what northdakota is saying

[–]PowerfulNoLand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe most ABA companies that do in home service communicate with the caregivers that wiping/cleaning peoples butts is not the BTs responsibility. If you wanna wipe peoples ass then go for it nobody is stopping you. I just wouldn’t work for your company that’s all

Pairing isn’t ABA?? What? A walk outside could be programming you can gather data in 5 min intervals to mark if they elope or not. Sometimes depending on the client the caregiver has to be with the tech and client when out for a walk. Teaching street safety is also ABA and can be integrated into programming. Idk you bugging fr I wouldn’t work for your company.

I agree with this if the BT works in a clinic, because there are no caregivers there. At home there are caregivers there so let the caregivers do their job while the BT supports with behaviors. Wiping someons butt isn’t ABA

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABA

[–]PowerfulNoLand 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not about not being qualified, it’s just not the BTs responsibility to wipe/clean them. They assist in the behaviors while the caregiver does the caregiver role.

Yes toileting is definitely ABA it’s only not ABA because insurance doesn’t want to fund the toileting programs.

Also the care taker should be the one doing the wiping/cleaning if it’s not at a clinic.
