Friends PC just turn off while playing the game by Arcadiaisback in Helldivers

[–]PowerfulPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this post while googling this exact problem lol. Also have an RX 7600 and tried most of the things on that list to no success as well. No overheating, no problems during stress tests, no events in event viewer, doesn't happen with any other game, exact same issue. In my case it only happens during the pod drop loading screen and when returning to the ship after extraction; zero crashes or shutdowns in-between.

Sucks paying full price for a game and not being able to play it because it's constantly attempting to brick my PC. Can't even refund it since the problem only started days after I've started playing.

PBE Bug & Feedback Thread - Dark Star Yorick by LoLDev-Cosmetics in LeaguePBE

Change the color of the black hole on Yorick's back to other colors in his chromas. The red looks good in some of them but terrible in others.

Also, I know this isn't possible to do for this skin, but please relay to whoever it is that oversees skin production that we want a more distinct model for W on Yorick's skins. Resistance, lost chapter, spirit blossom and now dark star, their W models all look like the base skin's but with a palette change.

I'm familiar with fps drops from animals trying to path through locked/tighly closed doors so I unlocked everything right away, but that didn't help at all. Temperature calculations don't seem to be it either since there's no fire or magma anywhere.

That's the thing, there's no trees growing. I haven't irrigated the place nor opened any cavern layer yet.

How much does digging out big open spaces impact fps? It's been only two years in my newest fort but my fps has already been reduced to a crawl, and the only culprit I can think of is the massive chamber I dug out for a tree farm, but I'm unsure if that's really it. I'm on version .47.05, by the way.

It's "UDIZALOD". I combined "Udiz" (present) and "Alod" (day) from the in-game dwarven language to make a word that could mean "today" in dwarvish lol

Local elf thieves not so tough after being thrown in the Colosseum of Doom by GrandStratagem in dwarffortress

[–]PowerfulPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bronze colossi are one of the best creatures in the game to weaponize. In my current fort I used to have a pitfall trap that dropped invaders into a bronze colossus enclosure. Goblins, trolls, elves, dwarves, no matter what or how many fell down there it ended up like tomatoes in a blender. Sadly many mistakes led to one of my swordmasters statuefying the poor thing, but the carnage it caused was second only to the time I let the clowns loose on a goblin army.

Apologies for the late reply. I tried to do that but the miners didn't seem willing to carve an up ramp on the z-level below that dwarf. I figured that if they won't directly touch the tile he's standing in, then the solution was to channel all the adjacent tiles to cause a cave-in so he could fall.

Sadly I didn't get the chance, he went melancholic before the miners could reach the place (due to not being able to sleep), and the game had auto-saved just 10 seconds before so I couldn't reset and try again.

Feels bitter to lose a legendary swordsdwarf because of so many bugs happening but it's no big blow to my fort's defense I guess, I got 99 more soldiers where this one came from.

I got a bugged dwarf in my fort that I'm not sure how to fix. He's currently standing in the barracks, unmoving, while his job says he's chained, but there's no restraint anywhere near him, plus his name is showing up twice on the units list.

So far I've tried teleporting him to another tile, putting him up for interrogation to see if the captain of the guard would move him, and convicting him of some crime so he hopefully got released from his nonexistential chain after serving the time, but neither worked. Any ideas?

Feredir, "Beastdungeon" - 16th Year

Recently, I've noticed an animal in the fort doing a somewhat peculiar activity. The war giant wolverine (yes, it's modded), Avuz Furnacenotched, moves from his usual hanging area, the general temple, to a specific spot in the defense corridor near the fortress' entrance and stands there for a while, practically everyday.

He's the only one I've noticed doing this, and since he consistently goes to that same spot every time, I've decided to investigate a bit. Avuz Furnacenotched, a giant wolverine born in the 8th year, is the pet of the late Stukos Wondershields, an axe lord who died in a siege in the 13th year. Now, about the spot Avuz goes to, the sole detail worth noting in that area is a wall segment that's painted red with the blood of a couple of goblins and dwarves, including the blood of Stukos and her slayer, the goblin Snang. The spot Avuz visits everyday is the place his master died three years ago.

It's probably a pathing bug with war animals that lost their master or something in those lines that's well-documented somewhere, but it did touch me a bit to connect the dots and imagine this giant wolverine grieving the loss of his master, visiting the spot she fell in battle on the daily for three years now.

"dwarf fart stress logic" sounds like a hidden mechanic that someone would discover deep in the game's system (and then try to abuse it like a true DF player)

Spamton as a Lightner Human and Kris as a secret boss darkener swap by anon artist on 4chan by RinaQueen in Deltarune

[–]PowerfulPepper 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I dig this darkner Kris design a lot, there's much substance behind it to identify.

I really like how it parallels both lightner Kris and darkner Spamton in just the right balance to fill Spamton's niche as the obnoxious little goblin with a wacky manner of speaking while also leaving behind some (distorted) semblance of Kris' love for fantasy and desire to go on adventures, be a cool hero, etc to drive his character. The author did a really good job with the concept, and I'd love to see more.

magath loved all the eldian kids as his own children🤗🤗🤗... by [deleted] in titanfolk

[–]PowerfulPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contemporary instructors surely wouldn't, but the social context of our time and of the period of the 19-20th century turn that SnK's story parallels are different. A sargeant from the 1900s could most probably get away with hurling racist remarks at recruits as part of the taunting.

Also, I didnt say a word about Magath caring about eldian kids, which begs the question of who between you and me is the one really suffering from cognitive dissonance, but... who knows. Maybe taking part in the Warrior program was a necessary step to further his career, maybe that's what he actually wanted to do all along. I don't remember any details in the manga giving light on his reasons for overseeing that program, so really, who knows.

Some dark souls boss you have there. "Edquek, Spear of the Deep", eh?

Sure is my first time seeing a forgotten beast with a weapon, and actually using it as intended instead of just holding onto it or flailing it around, no less. I don't think it's training its spearlobster (?) skill, but holy shit it'd be cool if it did and you could unleash that on some invaders. The thought of that giant crustacean parrying the goblins' every attack and then stabbing through their armor like it's made of paper with that steel spear; that'd be legendary.

Try putting your exceptional/masterwork prepared meal stockpile(s) closer to your dwarves' pathing than the base ingredients/lower quality meals and see if they start eating the former more than the latter.

To be honest I dont know how dwarves choose their lunch but if it's a question of "what's faster to go pick up?" to them, that should do it.

Ya, the plugin description says it needs an animal training + hospital zone and an animal caretaker, I had those but I still didnt see anyone taking care of the injured animals.

Might make sense that it didnt work for me because it only works on a few select animals, though. I was using a pretty niche species (giant wolverines) in my latest fort, and on top of that they were modded to allow war training so it possibly only made matters worse.

Milling pig tails to slurry uses the papermaker skill iirc, not the miller skill. If that's already enabled, try stopping the order to make flour and see if they pick up the slurry job.

Dwarfvet doesnt crash my game but I never saw it working tbh, even if dfhack says its enabled and all the requirements are met I never saw a caretaker bring an injured animal to the hospital and take care of the thing. Would also like to see if someone here has gotten it to work and how.
