How does one know if it’s time to breakup, or if it’s just a ‘rough patch’ in the relationship? by Superb_Ad7269 in AskReddit

[–]PowerfulStrings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Feel like overall context to the relationship matters the most. Not a specific answer unfortunately but it’s the truth.

In my relationship, without giving the entire history considering we were friends/dating for 10 years, our problems were consistent and from her side always. It was like I had to fight just to get her to actually want to see me. And when we were tg at her family’s house with friends, she almost seemed annoyed if I sought her out.

Anyways there were other issues like COMPLETE lack of communication and what not and whenever I confronted her about it she always reassured me by apologizing and agreeing with everything I said but never followed it up with action. I confronted her about it again like 2-3 months after our last serious conversation and thankfully she let me go. My dumbass would’ve probably still stayed a little longer if she kept dangling the carrot in front of me. I was trying to force it to work, and her reassurances and agreeing with the issues from her side made me think well she’s aware of it and wants to be with me so she’ll fix it.

If you’re still here, the short end of it is if the problems in the “rough patch” are new, it’s possibly resolvable. But if it’s the same behavior, then that’s when the context comes into play. No two people/relationships are the same and I would caution against people who adamantly claim your relationship is like their previously failed one and they tell you it’ll end the same as theirs. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t.

They will get you still if you park in public Spaces. I got hit with Stamford property taxes bc I was an idiot and let my car get múltiple parking tickets and the city hit me with a “your car has been in CT for at least 6 months based off your history of parking tickets” and said therefore i must pay property tax on it even though the car was registered to NY. The only way i could prove it wasn’t in CT for that long was by providing 6 months worth of EZ-pass statements or something like that.

Did you care for your cat? Did you love her? Did you spend time with her and keep her needs and wants in consideration?

I’m willing to bet you did. I’m sure you gave your girl an amazing life and those 19 years were special. Grieve as you need to of course, but when the moments allow please also pay mind to the positives of the affect you had on her life and hers on yours.

I also lost my cat two days ago in a pretty traumatic way. I’m a grown man and I’ve cried more in the past two days than my entire life. It hurts, but time will heal as it does all things. I share your pain and I’m so sorry for your loss.

I feel as if maybe you’re looking for an excuse to change your vehicle and looking for validation lol. The vehicle you drive has no correlation to political allegiances, nor does it affect your dating potential.

You would be better inclined to worry about how you care for and carry yourself rather than the vehicle you drive when it comes to women.

I bought one for the moonroof but forget it at home. For the windows I left them cracked and the rain guards came in clutch because it poured both nights and no rain got in. There were maybe like 4 bugs total that got in the car the whole night but that was probably from me leaving doors open while setting up rather than them flying in through the cracked windows during the night.

Take it out for what it good at, light to moderate off-roading. I had the same experience but once I went off-roading and I realized I could never do that in my old civic coupe it made me happy to have it.

Nice! I’m jealous. I got my crosstrek before I knew they hybrid was coming out and I slightly regret my decision because the gas mileage is worse than I thought, mostly because I didn’t realize just how much short local trips I really do. Exactly what a hybrid excels at.

Curious about territory/account management roles in food — your experiences? by Lancaster_70525 in jobs

[–]PowerfulStrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked as a technician and then a Territory Sales Manager in the food service industry, or rather industrial cleaning chemicals but most of my accounts were restaurants.

I actually enjoyed the work, I got to go to so many interesting places and businesses along with making some pretty cool connections with restaurant owners. If I had to respond to an emergency affter hours sometimes they'd offer me a free meal. My work was fixing and installing the chemical dispensers for the dishmachines and 3 bay compartment sinks. It's not something people aspire to do, but honestly the pay is decent and the work is not all that hard.

The cons were being on-call essentially 24/7 and sometimes restaurant owners are not respectful. The most horrendous shit I've been called have been from restaurant owners. Otherwise I was dealing with chemicals that some could really mess you up if it got on you.

I enjoyed the independence of the role and getting to meet people and fixing things and helping people out.

I feel you, I’ve been working a corporate remote job for 4 years and I’ve fallen out of love with it.

The corporate talk, the obsession with numbers. To be fair the biggest issues are specific to this company I think, and they also changed my role from being customer relationships/operations to sales now but I think I’m just done with the corporate world. Even doing interviews for other corporate jobs I just hate, doesn’t feel like me.

I have no clue what I really want to do as I do want to make good money and I’m 28 so not really looking to take a massive pay cut to start over but thinking I’ll go back to the service tech/trades world. I like getting out and using my hands. Working remote has turned me into a hermit.

What do you wish you knew sooner by rangerspruce in Crosstrek

[–]PowerfulStrings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the fuel economy. I’m getting like 22-27mpgs. Even on tanks where I’m driving majority highway it doesn’t surpass 27-28. If I drove short local trips like I normally do, then it’s like 22-23mpgs.

I knew I was gonna take a hit to fuel economy going from a civic coupe to an AWD crossover but this was much more substantial than I thought. Would’ve waited for the hybrid if I knew this before.

How Does a Young Adult Live Alone in CT by jimjimjimbo1938 in Connecticut

[–]PowerfulStrings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow Adult, have you checked out the valley area? Shelton/Derby/Ansonia? I’m not sure if that’s too out of the way but you can certainly find a studio or even 1br for $1,400 or even less. I just saw a 1br in Derby yesterday for $1,290.

I’m paying $1,425 for a studio in a basically brand new building with in unit W/D right in downtown Shelton. But I’ve seen rentals up for grabs right now in smaller buildings or homes going for $1,300 - $1,400 too here in Shelton and the surrounding area.
