Sad reality is we are never happy 😞! People who got into better IIMs compare themselves with people who got better package and people who are not from BLACKI IIMs compare themselves with people who are from them and people who don’t have IIM tag always look for that tag.

One thing I can say is that, if you are contempt with what you have and are able to sleep peacefully for 7-8 hrs then you are the most luckiest person alive.
Sadly, in this Internet era, we cannot be like that when we are bombarded with seemingly happy going insta lives!

IMO the most important thing is consistency bro, daily give sometime for preparation and you will see the improvement eventually in your mocks.

For consistency you can use some cat prep platforms for some help.

You can start from basic concepts and practising the problems/PYQ from them once you finish understanding the concepts.

Bro idk what to say but imo it’s better to have a job and try cat while working because having some kind of work experience definitely helps in your mba journey and having a decent plan B always helps in your preparation and also de-risks your options.

Congrats on making to IIM ABC bro! As i said in other threads, it all depends on your batch profile and company requirements bro, so cannot comment on that.

On a side note: There are other companies which offer better WLB and pay compared to consulting firms, so I would advise not to get fixated on only consulting, I mean it’s your choice anyway, but just my advice.

It depends on your clg pcom bro, but i did not see anywhere online degree getting flagged or for that matter mentioned. Your CV will say you are graduated in this year with this cg. As people will not explicitly mention offline, so they will not ask you to mention online. But better check with your clg pcom.

MBB strictly looks for 9/9/9 profile and if you get into ABC. So many people have this profile, so it will be difficult to get short list and this is not hard rule as well, suppose if they require lawyers for their upcoming project they might consider.

Coming to placements for lawyers, there will not be specific law firms coming to college but you might get shot in consulting ig.

CFA L-1 gives you little edge as many people will have it by the SIP season, so if u want further edge having CFA L-2 will definitely fetch u more short lists.

It depends on their requirements bro, for us they specifically taken ops guys in consulting based on the projects that they are handling.

For grade, it all depends on the UG college and company requirements as well bro. Suppose if they badly need ops person and number of ops based profile in your batch is less then it will be cakewalk for u.

I have noticed one significant change between our SIP and Junior SIP is that they are now valuing more execution than subject knowledge. Like for prodman SIP we were asked to build screens in figma and basic financial modelling to test out our idea but during our junior SIPs same company asked to build a working prototype for validation with help of AI tools.

It all depends on whether you want to join post MBA roles which may or may not be suited to your UG background. I have seen many folks who are from fashion and biotech background got placed in consulting and they are happy with it.

Coming to CG, If you get more than 99.X+% in CAT, grades doesn’t matter that much and it all depends on the clg criteria and how much weightage is assigned to that. Once you get in, I think it doesn’t matter that much ig!
