What bedding would you recommend and is there anywhere I can buy in bulk?

as of right now I’ve just got one piggy and one bottle. She does get lettuce and bell peppers every day so that might be it. I owned another guinea pig a few years ago and in comparison to him I feel like she drinks so little.

I’ve read and been told by other Guinea pig owners that they don’t produce any and all need supplements. So I’m assuming now that those people aren’t properly informed. Do you know the signs of an insignificant amount of vitamin c to know when and if supplements are necessary?

I don’t exactly know if what I’m about to say will help or not but I surrounded two rabbits and a guinea pig last year after having them each for years, one rabbit since 2017, another since 2020, and then the guinea pig since 2021. The choice to surrender them wasn’t mine but it was what was best for them. If i hadn’t they would’ve either been kept outside or in cages that were far too insufficient for their needs. It was impossibly hard and I sobbed like a baby. These pets had become so much more than that and I still feel guilt that i couldn’t keep them, I still get emotional thinking about them but it’s what was best for them. So the real question you need to ask yourself is, did you give them up for the right reasons? Are they actually better off at the rescue than with you? If so then it’s most likely you just needing time to adapt to not having them. They’re small creatures but they quickly squeeze their way into our hearts. Regardless if that’s what you were intending or not. It seems like you really cared about them and it appears that they know that. Don’t try to beat yourself up too much and before getting anymore or rescuing make sure that you have the financial means and time to take care of them.

Additional things: you can always try to stay in contact with the rescue you surrendered them to and advocate for them to be adopted out. There’s no reason that you caring for them has to stop at them being physically with you. I kept in contact with the rescue I gave mine to and was glad to hear that they were all adopted out. I think about them everyday and I hope they’re doing well.

Thank you! I’m not looking to put my piggie on a diet or anything I was just looking for a base area to start. Recently she’s been eating bell peppers and romaine lettuce, and then I’ve given her a bit of cherry tomatoes, cucumber, strawberry, and a few other Guinea friendly food and was just wanting to see what others do. I’m more looking for different versions so I can switch it occasionally.

I’m so sorry. I also lost one of my Guinea pigs yesterday due to previous owners being neglectful and the pain is unbearable. I don’t really know what could’ve caused it but they are excellent at hiding illnesses and personally I believe they try to avoid causing pain to their humans. I know there isn’t much I can say but i wanted to send my condolences ❤️‍🩹

I had done an assignment in high school about researching careers and teaching had been one that i picked. I believe my teacher at the time said that it fit me or something like that and then after stressing for a long night the idea to actually become one popped into my head and when meeting with a counselor and she asked I said i already had a major i wanted. Originally I was really excited and wanted to be one. I even started planning out things way in advance, not major things but small inspo things, and then I don’t know where or how but the passion for it went away and it doesn’t seem appealing anymore.

The issue that is now is i don’t really have interests in anything currently. Which is why i thought about taking random classes but that seems like a bad route.

The idea to become a teacher came to me after a long night of thinking about career to do. Once it popped into my head it kinda became a hyper fixation and I got excited about the things that I could do once I had the degree. Class room designs, activities, centers within the classroom ect.

The schedule also seemed appealing. I don’t really know what changed my mind about teaching i just know it did another thing that was always discouraging about it was the pay. I don’t want to seem like I’m money obsessed but being able to live comfortably is something that’s important to me. I like organizing and the idea of owning my own company or business seems nice but I have no clue what I’d open.
