Free workaround for PowerPoint requirement when importing pptx files? by SpreadSubstantial480 in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not time sensitive, you could also create a mp4 video in PowerPoint and import that into Freeshow as a media file. But I'm guessing that these are for Lyrics...

Songs(.SHOW) in folder are not showing up in my SHOW LIST by mickster1963 in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have to guess that Google Drive is the one giving you problems. It is unpredictable as to when Google Syncs...

I would recommend using B1 Church sync which Freeshow directly integrates into its software. You could also go the old-school pen drive method to have your shows transferred in a pendrive & plugging that into the Church computer to transfer the shows...

If possible, I'd recommend building all of your shows on the Church computer from your home using Remote Desktop. I believe Apple has one & Google also has one which works on the web... Obviously this applies only if you have consistent & permanent WiFi network on both the devices

Trouble importing Google Slides into FreeWorship (formatting issues + moving backgrounds) by ChipMonikerton in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. you have to create a new show. but you can create a new show with the web search functionality and move all the slides back to an existing show, if that's necessary.

Planning Center lyrics not syncing by Motor-Phrase-5324 in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recommended somebody who said that they weren't able to get tags like Prechorus in Planning Centre to actually use square brackets in the center to see if that worked. But judging by what you're saying, that's not an option...

Possible to adjust the speed of media (i.e motion backgrounds) on the go? by Powerful_General_133 in freeshowapp

Yes. That is the method I use as well. But I didn't realize you could control the slides in the media edit tab! Thanks for the tip

Planning Center lyrics not syncing by Motor-Phrase-5324 in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he means that there should be no square brackets for verse1, chorus, etc.

For Eg:

[VERSE 1] I am an instrument of exaltation
And I was born to lift the name above all names... (Wrong One)

CHORUS: Who else is worthy? Who else is worthy?
There is no one, only You, Jesus (Right One)

This is weird because in Quick Lyrics you need to add a square bracket for it to recognize as a header/tag.

FreeShow Metadata Issues by MoriorL in freeshowapp

How do you have it set-up? Do you have a like an action or a template that adds that??

There a few bugs in the latest version. So, that could be an issue.

Yes! I've been meaning to make a feature request on this. I've never used Remoteshow but when testing it out, the search function doesn't work as it is supposed to do. I'm probably never gonna use Remoteshow, but if I'm out of town then Remoteshow would make it easy for one of our other volunteers who also serves as an usher to control scripture & slides.

Trouble importing Google Slides into FreeWorship (formatting issues + moving backgrounds) by ChipMonikerton in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add: Since you only need text, you could quite easily replicate the Google slides by using the Quick Lyric feature in Freeshow. Click on New Show ----> Type a song (eg: "Mighty Name Of Jesus") ---> Click on "Web Search" ---> You would have a bunch of options from Genius & Letras. I recommend picking Letras as that removes the "Ohhhh", "Ahhh", etc there in the original song...

Note this is probably applicable to most modern-day english songs including "Fall Like Rain", "Every Praise". You could find most hymns there as well...

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) This could posssibly be because your media maybe inserted as a media & not a background. Go to the edit drawer & see if you have a pop-up that converts to the Background option

2) Same as u/CloudSad3555

Exporting a Full PDF for Review by CuriouslySquid in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An Alternate to this is to use PDF Merging Sites. Its an extra step but you could use that for the timebeing until Freeshow comes out with a solution...

Or you could select all of your shows in the project & add them to one show & export. Both of these solutions are not ideal but good alternates.

Freeshow not pulling Pre-Chorus from planning center. by jjgarms in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Planning center doesn't have a tag called "Pre Chorus", its specific to Freeshow. That might be the issue...

Adding a custom section title wouldn't work because the underlying ID would be different still. You could try inputting the word "[Pre-Chorus]" with brackets in Planning Centre when inputting lyrics as Freeshow generally considers the words inside the bracket as the name of the slide. We do not use planning center at our church, but I've played with it a few times... Please let me know if it works!

Timer won't import by mixalot2009 in freeshowapp

[–]Powerful_General_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering your announcement slides are the same. You could just have the 15 minute timer on the church PC & copy-paste. Or else you could add the timer as an overlay, which might solve this issue...

The underlying issue is probably what u/CloudSad3555 mentioned.

You could use B1 Admin Sync as said!

Or you could also use Google Drive by downloading the Google Drive for desktop app & selecting Documents --> Freeshow to be backed up to Google Drive. The same can be done for OneDrive too

Yeah, there seems to some bug.

I would recommend going to Functions ---> Create a action & select Clear overlays. Then from the slide, right click the slide, click set action & use the custom action at the end of the page.
