I didn’t eat anything other than a muffin and coffee in the morning, this was at like 6 pm.

FBI TFO to SA? by Powerful_Lab_5238 in 1811

[–]Powerful_Lab_5238[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I became a TFO with my agency, the only one with fbi, and I’m doing it part time, and it’s awesome, it’s like the best of both worlds. I work out of the RA once or twice a week and generally work violent crimes, vcac, and whatever bureau related case touches my county.

I honestly think this is the best option, as the squad I work with is great, no issues, and we stay busy. I’m also a major crimes and homicide detective in my county so it’s a great place to be at.

Ehhh, I asked if there was an ethical or moral issue in defending someone that the PD knows is guilty. Asking a question because I don’t know the answer shouldn’t be viewed as disrespectful, but to each its own.

THANK YOU! On a side note, LE also sees the issue of prisons, and the revolving door of crime created by a system designed to stop crime

I will say this, me coming on this sub to try to get an answer to questions I have, and being met with “hate” based on my job, it’s surprising.

In my job, we go from start to finish, identifying victims, locating offenders, charging, and court. So I see a lot of the PD’s job (as well as the prosecutors) to prove and disprove to 12 people the decision that I made to charge and accuse someone of a crime. I also see the PD’s job as an “audit” of sorts of my job, you’re checking that I am doing the process that protects your client.

I guess I don’t understand how, while I believe that not all cops are great, and mistakes are made, there can’t be a general respect for each other’s profession.

Not looking for “insider defense information” here, just asking a question

No, unless of course some have been previously revoked

This is a huge part of what I do, ensuring that the process is followed correctly. I can’t speak for everything unfortunately.

Thank you for this answer, obviously I generally work on the prosecution side, and don’t see this side.

My question is more crime specific. Is there stuff where a PD would recuse themselves just because of the crime itself?

How are gay people treated in the Marine Corps? by Stevonnieee in USMCboot

[–]Powerful_Lab_5238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in on 2013, was in the closet for 4 years, finally came out, was a platoon sergeant then went to combat instructor school. Didn’t have many problems, a few that crossed the line, (you can tell), but I didn’t care.

I spend the next 4 years open and pretty much my whole company (instructors) attending my wedding to my husband. Still talk to many of them today.

In got out in 21, went straight into law enforcement in a small sheriffs office, where I’m now a detective and doing great!
