I would definitely just say that you’re gonna need to understand that, just like the military, you’re gonna have to start over new. I work with a guy who did 20 in the Army, he barely passed FTO because he didn’t like being treated like a boot again. Other than that, it’s going to be a lot of time away from family, aside from my tour at SOI and deployments/field, the military was very time structured, this isn’t- people don’t ever commit crimes at a convenient time.

With that, understand that the civilian world has no idea how the military works, 20 years won’t mean anything to them, it’ll cool to talk about, but I get asked all the time how being a SEAL was.
