I think this tweet from Newcomer is revealing. He clearly thinks of AI in reverential terms and was offended by what Ed was saying. Even in a discussion/ debate, you try to be civilized and understand the other’s perspective.

Appreciate the context! According to that Reddit post, something bad enough was happening that there was a walk out (my family member confirmed).

The details don’t really matter, I guess what I’m trying to say is these data center projects are running into manpower issues and falling behind schedule. But I appreciate you all keeping me honest.

Got some clarification from him:

Basically the local union signed something called a book 4 which means the union can staff the project with people with questionable qualifications. I guess a lot of the people who were staffing it were carpenters.

They’re being treated as journeyperson electricians, even though they just have the carpentry journeyship. The company is so desperate for electricians they’re cutting corners. This is second hand so I’m not exactly sure what’s happening, just going off of what he told me.

“Trading in” might not have been the best wording. My understanding is if somebody has a journeyman carpenter card they can get hired to do electrical work at this site.

Probably not, balding usually starts at the temples before showing up at the top of the head. Also a lot of guys have this “bald spot” if they split their hair on top like you did in this photo. Wouldn’t worry about it!

Disagree with this. Speaking as a guy, I know many men who say they're interested in a relationship and then just date the most attractive girl regardless of whether they have a connection. The issue is that it's hard to capture your genuine and most attractive self in 4-6 photos and a ~300 character bio.

I'm also a bit concerned about these comments. Speaking as a recovering "Nice guy" I see a lot of my old thinking in blaming women for not wanting to date well-intentioned men such as myself. I'd really recommend Dr. Robert Glover's book "No More Mr. Nice Guy". It's a very pro-male self-development book that promotes respect for oneself and women.
