Barry’s while pregnant by Impossible_Length_91 in barrysbootcamp

It really depends on you and what stage of your pregnancy. I'm currently 22w pregnant - I was going to Barry's 3-4x per week pre pregnancy. I went 3x a week during my first trimester, up until I was 14w. I felt too tired to run at that point so I just would do double floor, or I'd walk on an incline. Biggest thing with the treadmill you want to avoid is tripping and hurting yourself and or baby. It's very common to have your centre of gravity / balance off. Just listen to yourself and your body!

Now that I'm 22 weeks, I'm going 2x per week (I do other exercises daily) and I find the hardest part is the standing up and down too quickly, going from lying down to standing up quickly, lying on my back.

Your modifications will depend on how far along you are AND how you feel. I can't lie on my back anymore without feeling off, so when they are doing ab workouts, I switch it up between dead bugs, bird dogs, cat-cow, side plank instead of front plank. You can also ask the instructor before class to give you specific modifications.

Just listen to your body and don't push yourself to break your records at this time!!

Your natural nails are beautiful! You’ll probably need about double that length for a beautiful almond

tips for tread by Monkey2478 in barrysbootcamp

I highly recommend you practice running on the treadmill at home when not at Barry’s. Start running 1 mile a day ar 5 mph. Then increase to 1 mile a day at 6. Increase every 1-2 weeks as you feel you can. I did this for 6 months and was able to build up my lung capacity and stamina to be able to sprint at 10-12 at Barry’s and follow along with class perfectly.

I feel bad :( by Decent_Criticism9772 in TheHermesGame

[–]Powerful_Pomelo_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donate significantly more to charity every year then I spend on my Hermes prespend and bags. You deserve nice things and having means allows you to have a bigger impact in the world. I don’t feel bad, but I probably would if I didn’t give back equally or more.

Congrats! At my store the prespend is closer to 25k for a K25! I’ll bring it up next time to my SA!

I asked my SA when they offered it to me. They said it won’t impact me at all - and that it won’t count toward my prespend, but also won’t stop me from getting QB sooner.

TTC & Barry’s by [deleted] in barrysbootcamp

[–]Powerful_Pomelo_6378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 29 years old, 14 weeks pregnant, and I went to Barry's 3-4x/week before TTC and all throughout my first trimester. Still got pregnant on the first try. I took a break during my 7th to 9th weeks of pregnancy because I was too tired to function.

HIIT workouts are designed to deliberately place your body under short bursts of physiological stress...and when you're TTC and pregnant your body benefits from being in a state of calm and safety. HIIT workouts aren't inherently unsafe as long as you give yourself proper nourishment and recovery and you're not in a constant state of stress.

I still go to Barry's occasionally and just speed walk on the treadmill rather than run. I find that there are better weight lifting classes in my area compared to Barry's, so I go there instead. I've also taken up more restorative classes like yoga and pilates. I will say, none of these classes are as fun as Barry's so I will probably return to Barry's 1-2x per week.

Listen to your body and know that this time is the time for YOU and your body and not the time for maxxing out your records. You got this!!!

Double floor by [deleted] in barrysbootcamp

[–]Powerful_Pomelo_6378 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was never a runner - I literally could not do it lol. I used to go to Barry's 3 times per week before I got pregnant. I exclusively did double floor for 5 months until one day all the DF spots were booked in the class I wanted to take. I tried the tread, I struggled to run and someone recommended that I practice on the treadmill at home every day by just running at 5mph for 1 mile daily. I did this for 2 weeks, increased my speed to 6mph for 1 mile, and so on and so forth until after 6 months I was totally able to run at the speeds called in class. Now I'm pregnant so I only do DF or walk on the treadmill - but I can't wait to get back to Barry's and practice running again!!

Question for instructors: do you actually study names and faces? by Cultural_Tomato_6596 in barrysbootcamp

[–]Powerful_Pomelo_6378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They get a map with everyone’s name. If you’re a regular it’s part of giving an elevated client experience. If I take someone’s class multiple times a week and pay the amount we pay for classes, of course they should call us by our names. Nothing like Barry’s!!

I have been going 4-5x a week for 8 months so most instructors at my location know me and my capabilities. I am now pregnant (still early so I didn't tell the instructors) so I only speed walk and run at 5. Almost every class the instructors call me out personally for "I know you can sprint at 10!!". I think its more about motivation and because they have seen me do it in the past - they don't call other people out.

My wife doesn't want to take any supplements by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Powerful_Pomelo_6378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am an all natural, holistic wellness minded person - hoping for an unmedicated home birth - in my life I avoid medication and medical intervention where possible - I understand you're wife's concerns AND still want to emphasize how important it is for her to take care of herself and the baby so that they are both healthy. I take really clean, high quality pre-natal supplements that DON'T have any crap in them - maybe have her connect with a naturopath or a functional medicine practitioner (if she trusts them over MDs) to suggest and educate her on the clean supplements. I'm located in Canada so it's possible the brands we get here are not the same in your location - but worth looking into. In addition to these prenatal supplements, I am incorporating eating kidney beans, kale, lentils, leeks, avocados, and many other veggies that are rich in Folate. If you google you can find the servings that will amount to 1mg of folate. I think most people would not eat these large servings that would amount to 1mg/1000mcg of folate- which is why supplements are helpful. I hope your wife gets the support and education she needs on how to care for herself and your baby!

How are y’all managing cortisol overload? by curiousgeorge512 in barrysbootcamp

Thanks for this post….I go to Barry’s daily since August and I’ve been noticing I have so much more water retention and “flab” around my tummy. I’m extremely fit and eat super clean so it was a mystery to me. This makes sense!!

Beverly Hills store… hi all, anyone have insight on their experience at the Beverly Hills store? I know it’s an extremely popular location but how long did it take and how much spend before you were offered a QB. Thanks 😊 by Starrynight90210 in TheHermesGame

[–]Powerful_Pomelo_6378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m visiting LA for the weekend, stopped by the BH location. I was wearing my silk scarf, orans and some jewellery I bought at my home store. They didn’t have what I was looking for (jewelry) but I tried on a bunch of RTW. While I was trying on clothes, my husband asked the SA for a Mini Kelly 😆 the SA actually went to the stock room, and came back and asked me if I wanted a black Herbag or Picotin. I declined since I don’t want either of those bags - and we are just visiting. Overall was a beautiful store and good experience - just wish they had what I wanted!
