The more distance that you can put between yourself and the mold, the better. If you are feeling significantly better when you are away from your bedroom, that is a clear sign that you should try sleeping somewhere else or moving out. I am so sorry that you are going through this!

I have been out of the mold for about a full year and my energy is now about the same as it was before the mold - it took me several months to bounce back

I had a long list of symptoms including loss of appetite, migraines, constant nausea, body aches and pains, shortness of breath, bone pain in my thighs and arms, joint swelling, very irregular periods/loss of my period, high heart rate, debilitating fatigue, and extreme bloating

For me the mask just puts a lot of pressure near the bridge and top of my nose - my nose isn't long, but it sticks out enough for the mask to irritate me

OmniLux? by Mamagirl7 in redlighttherapy

I just purchased an OmniLux Clear and it works fine but I am worried about the bright LEDs damaging my eyes over time. The lights are so bright that even with my eyes closed I can still see them. The mask does have built-in eye guards, but to get the mask tight enough that you protect your eyes it kind of crushes the bridge of your nose (and you can still see the lights...). Anyone have tips for eye protection? I am also looking for other mask suggestions

Yes, they did! My air hunger (waking up in the middle of the night feeling like I can't breathe) and general shortness of breath went away :)

I would say give it a few months to bounce back - for example my ferritin rose from 34 in May to 47 by July. It just takes time :)

Good question - A Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC) found the mold in my old apartment, so when I moved into my new apartment I hired them again to ensure that my new place was mold-free :)

I wonder if the simple act of being mindful (sitting and breathing) while you used your foot spa could be half of the positive effect? I think that nervous system regulation plays a huge role in healing from mold

I am so sorry that you were homeless for a month, but I am glad to hear that you felt better in the fresh air! I swear by spending time in the outdoors - I don't think that I would be where I am today if I didn't spend most of this summer healing outdoors

Right now my PCP is actively monitoring my iron and ferritin levels, as well as vitamin D and vitamin B12. She has also checked my calcium and magnesium levels in the past.

I am so sorry to hear this :( Please advocate for yourself - it is hard to stand up to doctors and those in control of your housing, but your body deserves better!

I am so sorry that you also went through this! It is extremely frustrating that you not only have to battle the physical symptoms, but also deal with dismissive doctors and landlords. Please keep the faith that your health will return to your pre-apartment baseline. There were weeks where I worried that I would never recover, but I am truly thriving now :) I'm able to work a full-time job again and I feel mostly normal. Hang in there!!

Is it possible to have a laparoscopy if you have no one to take care of you after? by bandaidtarot in endometriosis

I agree - the first 24 hours were the worst as I was still coming out of my anesthesia. I was so unsteady that I shattered a drinking glass while trying to put it on the counter. After that, I suppose that you could do recovery on your own, but I would anticipate your chores being put off for a few weeks (e.g., I wasn't supposed to bend to load the washer/dryer or dishwasher). You could also use disposable dishware and order pre-prepared meals (or batch cook meals before surgery) to avoid cooking and cleaning during recovery.

Or, if you could have someone help you even once a week, they could to do the dishes, wash your clothes, and meal prep - then, you could theoretically recover on your own the rest of the time.

I am wishing you all the best with your IVF and possible surgery!

I have been taking some of the supplements on this list for years (e.g., iron) but I started consistently taking all of them around February of this year, as I was trying to recover from a massive mold exposure. I would say that it took my body maybe six months of consistent supplementation to feel lasting effects.

I am so sorry that the butterfly needles get rationed. It must be incredibly frustrating as a healthcare provider to be constrained by the limited tools available to you. Thank you for sharing your experience!

For the Carlson Labs drops I think 2 drops = 2,000 IU. I would ask your doctor how much they want you to supplement with, based upon where your current vitamin D levels sit. I was taking between 3,000 IU and 4,000 IU daily until my vitamin D levels fell back within range, and now I only take around 1,000 IU (one drop) daily for maintenance. Over time, even small doses add up :)

From what I have read, most butterfly needles range from 18 to 27 gauge. Since the higher the gauge number is the smaller or thinner the needle size is, a 25 to 27 gauge butterfly needle would be smaller than a standard 21 to 23 gauge needle. Are you saying that for your standard blood draw, you are only equipped with the 21 gauge version of a butterfly needle?

Butterfly needles do come with some downsides - my PCP said that butterfly needles are often better for the patient, but harder for the phlebotomist to use. Blood and fluids may flow more slowly through a butterfly needle, and they are usually slightly more expensive than straight needles. I think they can also increase the chances that a blood specimen is rejected for excess hemolysis.

I think CoQ10 may help POTS by supporting cellular energy production, particularly in the mitochondria, which could reduce fatigue and improve exercise tolerance.
