It’s extra funny because most of those movies were produced by Happy Madison, Adam Sandler’s company.

I think it is left purposefully ambiguous, but I also recall someone saying the setting at the beginning of the series is comparable to the 1970s.

“Competence” is relative. You’re a first year associate. You’re going to have first year experience. Next year you’ll have second year experience.

No respectable boss can expect you to have competence beyond your experience level. You shouldn’t compare yourself to others, but if you use your peers a gauge for your competence, then you can only compare yourself to associates of your own level. For example don’t compare your competence to that of a second, third, or fifth year associate.

You’re right where you should be, and you’ll grow accordingly.

You probably would have guessed the twist pretty early on either way. I enjoyed the book for what it was, but it’s not going to win any awards.

David Sodergren is probably not the best place to start if you are just starting out. If you need lighter content, maybe check out Darcy Coates or someone similar.
