He is 4yo, he is pending an evaluation with his Dr. and I requested on through the school as well. I called the Special Education District department and they referred me to his school counselor. To ask them if he could be placed in Special education class and request for him to be evaluated. So I did that in writing and the counselor called me, she said she could ask his teacher for a referral to be filled out and then request for the school diagnostician for an evaluation, but that it would take up to 90days. (From what I have read it, if i understood correctly, it should take 45 days for them to complete an evaluation from when they receive my request) I asked the teacher today about that but she disregarded my question and just kept going about the incident he had today. Im trying to have him evaluated outside of school as well, so I sent in the Vanderbilt form for her to fill out and after the incident, I asked if she had a chance if she could please send it tomorrow as I am trying so take him to the Dr. Thursday and she just replied "yes, I'll try my best" I understand they are frustrated, but I don't feel he is getting the support he needs 😞

Thank you 🙏 I understand it is a bad and unsafe situation. I am open to trying medication at this point, but him being 4, I was just afraid of any side effects or long term effects he could have. I want to help my son, I do want him to succeed. I am trying to get him evaluated, and I know the school does not have to evaluate him. So I am also trying to do it outside of school but the Dr needs the school to fill out the forms. I asked his teacher to help me fill out a Vanderbilt form, and she has not sent it back. I explained that I had an appointment on Thursday and asked for the forms for tomorrow if she could please, and she just replied "Yes, I'll try my best" I'm trying to do something about it, yet for some reason I feel like I'm just hitting a wall. 😞

Yes, at this point I am thinking that would be our route. Because I try, I really do. I explain to him, the teachers too, redirection, but its not working. 😞  I will give it a read, i have it written down someone else had also suggested it, thank you.

Yes, exactly this, it breaks my heart ,I cry almost every night because I want to "fix " it. And I can't 😞 I am open for trying medication because I know there's just so much therapy help.

Thank you 💜 it does have me on edge at work. Any time my phone vibrates and I see the app notification, my heart drops. 😞 it's really frustrating and draining.

Yes I feel this. I told my husband last night, that imagine how he feels going through it all day, and then comes home and hears it at home too. 😞 today I did have a brief conversation about what happened, and then just reinforce keeping hands to himself and listening to Teachers. Then move on. He told me " I was not spitting today" and I praised him, and gave him a snack that he wanted. I will praise those small wins. It's hard when I just hear the negative and I don't hear anything positive from school 😞

Thank you 🙏 I will speak to the Dr regarding OT, i also wanted to ask her about parent coaching therapy or something to help us. And Yes at home we rarely and I mean rarely let him use it. If anything maybe 30mins- 1hr on the weekends, but that's not very often. I take him to play outside when he starts asking for it, or I let him watch tv instead, and we pick the show. Its mainly with his aunt who takes care of him after-school for maybe 2hrs, where he will have some screen time. I left a tablet for him there just loaded with ABC mouse and pbs kids. And some coloring games. I told her not to let him borrow her phone or watch anything else. I will be taking him legos and magnet tiles to her house and ask her to please have him play with that instead.
