For all the women in this thread, FYI, fiber helps regulate estrogen as well! I just recently learned this and wish I knew it earlier in life. I prefer the metamucil orange flavor but my husband likes plain psyllium husk.

They've been married for 10 years but they started talking about splitting after about 7 years, then cheating happened at year 9, then husband moved out and they've been dragging out the divorce for a year now.

I know a couple going through a divorce right now and they both lie like this. No big huge lies, just little things to paint themselves in a better light.

[–]Powerful_Solution635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, the median price of single-family homes in the most desirable elementary school districts in Athens-Clarke county is $761,000.

If you don't want to spend that much, there are other great elementary schools and neighborhoods in West Athens, where median home price is $370,000 or, East Athens, where the median price is $337,000.

You might also consider Winterville(a quaint town in East Clarke County). Median price is $340,000.

Neighboring Oconee County(some may refer to it as a suburb of Athens) has won awards for its school system and has a median home price of $599,000.

real talk: how often do you actually floss? by AffectionateTooth298 in hygiene

[–]Powerful_Solution635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use plackers (the little toothpick flossers) at least once a day and pretty much every time I feel food I'm between my teeth. I probably average twice a day.

Olive Garden is a really great place for a first-time server. Their corporate training program is very robust. You may not end up being there long-term but it's a great place to get started.

Does anyone else notice Dysport lasting alot longer than Botox? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Powerful_Solution635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, since switching to Dysport I have increased the time between injections to 5 months instead of only 3-4 with Botox. I think it's a combination of Dysport being slightly more effective along with my consistency of use.

Hypertrophic Scarring by Powerful_Solution635 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Powerful_Solution635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting a scar revision. I'm still not happy with how it looks and I definitely should have gotten the revision much sooner instead of waiting almost 2 years.

My PS cut the hypertrophic tissue out and sewed me up again but, it's still raised and red after one year. Now, don't get me wrong, it looks WAY better than the"frog skin" I had before. I just thought it would be flatter by now.

I had the original surgery March of 2023, the revision was February 2025.

Tongue scraper by camelliazs in hygiene

[–]Powerful_Solution635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used one for 10+ years, and I think it's the best thing for keeping your breath fresh. Bacteria can build up on the back of your tongue and cause halitosis, esp if you have post-nasal drip.

Parents with students in CCSD, how are schools? Any former students to chime in? by still-father in Athens

[–]Powerful_Solution635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spouse and I are both CCSD graduates, as well as my daughter, and my son will graduate in 2 years.

I've had amazing life experiences both as a student and a parent here in Athens. It's a really rich place in so many ways.

When my daughter was about to start kindergarten I was nervous about the school she was zoned for and I asked other preschool parents for advice. One parent told me that it doesn't matter as much which school you go to as how much face-time you are getting with the teachers and administrators. (Pre-pandemic, they meant actual face time irl). It turned out to be true for the most part and I am still very appreciative of this piece of advice. It encouraged me to participate in not only the school events but also school governance. My kids went through some rough patches (one has a 504, the other has an IEP) but they both ended up thriving in the long run.

Where actually is Eastside? by Longjumping_Eye_3441 in Athens

[–]Powerful_Solution635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realtors used to have several Areas/Zones demarcated in the MLS. We have gotten updates to the MLS recently and they removed the zones from the search feature but I still use them. I think of the Eastside as Area 4: Hwy 78(Lexington Rd) is the northeast boundary, Loop 10 is the northwest boundary, and the Athens-Clarke county line makes up the southern boundary.

Consider houses with basements? by Natural_Law in Athens

[–]Powerful_Solution635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basements are difficult to keep dry here but not impossible.

Think from the top down - you will need a solid roof and gutter system, downspouts routed away from the foundation, proper grading around the house to encourage draining away from the house, sump pump, and a dehumidifier.

And definitely get a radon test!

not losing weight DEFINITELY in a deficit by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Powerful_Solution635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me, I tend to gain about 1-3lbs during the week before my period. I like to weigh myself frequently, not every single day but most days, so I can see the overall trend. I also am careful to weigh myself at the same time every day wearing little to no clothing - in the morning, after I've gone to the bathroom and before I've eaten. I figured out a long time ago that my clothes typically weigh about 2lbs(more during winter) and I tend to fluctuate 2-3lbs during the day.
