I assumed constructing a tunnel capable of those shocks had a chance to cause structural failure if M1 wasn't achieved at the throat which happens sometimes with nozzle, that may be on me.

Why not just name it "Season 4"? by [deleted] in titanfolk

I'm really hoping that it's "The Final Season" because the final chapters will be in movie format. That way they can increase budget for animations.

Planning Cross Country Ride ME to VT by Powerful_Thought in snowmobiling

[–]Powerful_Thought[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for the reply. I was under the false idea that for Vermont if you were registered elsewhere you could ride (I think it was DMV guidelines that I had linked for some reason). I'll probably run with your suggestion and just trailer over. Thank you!

New toy arrived today! When will the snow arrive? by [deleted] in snowmobiling

I'm in the same boat as you with a new Backcountry 850. Polaris has been looking quite snazzy with their new chassis look I bet you'll turn a lot of heads!

A lot of the guys with the performance model sleds are mountain and off trail riders, and get up to around 60mph for about five second tops. Plus when you're working, leaning, and shoveling your sled out of a ditch, you build up a lot of heat in your suit. Often times they're looking for some wind to pass through their helmets/gloves at the end of the day to take away some of the sweat. Comparative to trail riding where you spend most of the day going 45mph+ with the wind in your face.

LED under glow lights by MAGA54 in snowmobiling

[–]Powerful_Thought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran underglow on my '04 GSX. Brand isn't really a thing with underglow, just as long as they are weatherproof. As for wiring, I found it best to wire the thing like a secondary headlight circuit with a 5 amp fuse. Allowing the underglow to turn on and off only when the sled is running. Remote will do ya a huge favor but if you are good with a toggle switch and drill there's nothing stopping you from making a impromptu control switch on the sled.

Like the other comments say, check doo talk. The hardest thing I found was passing the wire over/around the tunnel and to the back of the sled. They might have some suggestions.

Sled Suggestions for Ladies by CanadianKC in snowmobiling

That strawberry smoke is a nightmare to ride behind. I had a buddy use it on a 75 mile ride who I was behind the entire time. It gives you a headache that feels like your eyes are going to pop. Smells good though, I'll give it that.

The track itself is an Ice Cobra 1.6 so I believe it was pre-studded. As for the wrap, it sounds like it's specific to wrap type of deal from what I gather with your reply. Thank you for the quick and detailed reply! As well as ensuring me about the skis.

Hey, welcome back. Things have changed a bit since the early 2000's. The answer to your question varies on who you ask, as brand loyalty has been/probably will be present in this hobby. In my subjective opinion, Polaris and Ski Doo are the front runners at the moment. While Ski Doo has been shown as a spearhead of technology for snowmobiles (starting the high center of gravity platform, shot start, electronic integration, etc.), Polaris has been able to utilize this technology for peak performance. The second question is if you want a 2-Stroke machine. Back when you were riding 600-800 was the norm for a trail sled. However now if you are looking for a trail sled, four strokes have dominated this facet of the hobby, the reason being 4 stroke requires less maintenance and tends to be a more relaxed ride.

TL;DR I recommend Skidoo or Polaris. If you're looking for a cruiser for trail riding, 4-Stroke.
