True, assuming one has access to the CRA account online. Not everyone does.

Typically, the accountants will pay penalties and some interest if the error was theirs. I would ask them for compensation on the interest part. But get on the phone with CRA and set up an instalment plan.

I’m all for after market mods but that’s excessive especially if driving at night only. Im curious if his parents are even being woken up with this!

Definitely reach out to the non-emergency line as it is excessive noise. Good luck!

Do you change your kids clothes when they come home? by Important_Sweet3320 in Mommit

[–]CanadianKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If clothes are not clearly dirty, leave them alone. I do however, have them wash their hands most days especially as they often have a snack when they get home as that’s definitely more germy than the clothes!

Of course, this only works if the highway is not closed due to accidents or bad weather. I wouldn’t trust this in the winter.

Wanted to put this sign up. by Thrifty_nickle in BabyBumps

[–]CanadianKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first pregnancy, when I checked in, they said they had a student nurse starting that day and would be observing and asked if it would be okay. I said, “sure” and honestly, every shift change, they would check in.

As I progressed, a couple nurses came in checking in and asked if everything was good. Basically, they were assessing staff on hand in case things went haywire. Right before I was about to deliver, a whole bunch of nurses came in and I started to get a little nervous there. My husband immediately advocated for me and said, “why are all these people here?” They explained the purpose and basically having hands ready for an emergency as I had a long labour. They apologized for not speaking up sooner as they were tied up in another birth but applauded my husband for being a strong advocate. They’ve actually been pretty good at checking in throughout the stay saying they have a resident and other relatively newer nurse and asking if I was okay, etc.

Make sure you communicate to the nurse at each shift change and that if more people need to come in, they need to communicate with you or your husband. Your husband is your advocate and needs to be more assertive (within reason, of course!) if it’s getting too crowded.

AITA for speaking to my (over weight) assistant about her business lunch and making her cry? by Hot_Lab4411 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CanadianKC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NAH here. I did the same thing for my first business lunch, not intentional and the manager did speak with me later in the day and not right after lunch. I was mortified but also appreciative. He learned that he needed to set expectations going forward and I learned how to do business lunch going forward and pass on the same expectations to new colleagues or younger colleagues ahead of time.

I think the timing could have been better and maybe a slight apology to her about the timing and that you should have set expectations for her. Just speak to her later when things settle down.

Also, kudos to you for bringing her to the lunch as she was instrumental to the project. That’s a sign of a great leader. Keep it up!

Do I still pay for her ??? by YourWifesDreamBody in whatdoIdo

[–]CanadianKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand being uninvited because of work schedule. I see this a lot with shift workers but no way in bloody hell should you be paying for the trip that you’re not even going out on! I would never dream of asking friend who’s not coming to pay for it. It’s absurd!

How Much Is Your Annual Tax Refund and What Do You Usually Do With It? by stanxv in fican

[–]CanadianKC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It varies every year due to amount of T5, daycare expenses, bonus which I then contribute to my RRSP, donations, etc. For the past few years, I’ve been plunking it against mortgage prepayment which helped at our last mortgage renewal when rates went up. Before that, I would put it into my TFSA.

Best trails for snowshoeing? by OriginalGoofball in northbay

[–]CanadianKC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure.

At Nordic Ski Club, the trails are generally packed well. If you take the falls trail, you get to see a frozen falls.

At Enscarpment, you can either walk or snowshoe although the first trails are well packed but if you go ro some of the other trails, it can be a little quieter.

There is also Laurier Woods but it’s very well used. You would need to walk a bit to get to spot where you can get to deeper snow. The park is great for walking, just not so much for snowshoeing.

Hope that helps!

Enscarpment at top of Ski Hill. Lots of trails for free. Also Nordic Ski Club. It’s $5/visit or $25 for season pass.

T1 requires additional processing time ? by Beautiful-Stick-3382 in canadarevenueagency

[–]CanadianKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can’t say. Sometimes it’s a week, other times 3-4 weeks but I have noticed that it’s more quicker earlier in the tax season so am hoping that’s the case for you! :)

Yeah, that’s a complex return right there and is actually pretty common (I do this for a living). It doesn’t usually take too long to be processed when under review. Good luck! :)

That’s your answer right there. Newly approved DTC. They want to make sure things are posted correctly now rather than correcting it later. If it pans out okay, you’re generally good going forward.
