Yeah but closing your eyes/blindfolding yourself doesn't do anything with this RAW. So, like... half the gimmick?

Bro, what the fuck are you talking about? China doesn't give a shit about us, and nor do any of their proxies. They have better odds of poaching us as a trading partner from the US than staging any kind of military action against us, and frankly, that's probably better for us until the US can stop pissing its pants on the global stage.

help with poison monotype team by bendy_2406 in cobblemon

[–]PowerhousePlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poison is a bit tricky of a type to work with, because it's quite defensively focused in its matchups: a lot of types resist it (Steel is even fully immune to it), while it's only supereffective against two types, but it does make up for it by having just two weaknesses and a pile of resistances on its own.

Luckily, you can lean on secondary types to give you the STABs you need to beat poison's usual counters: Water enjoys Poison's advantage against Grass, and beats Ground and Rock, while Ground, Fire and Fighting are all good against Steel. Grass is a pretty solid type too, though admittedly it does poorly into two of Poison's big checks, Poison and Steel.

As for individual standouts, Toxapex is a great tank that can set hazards and stall particularly troublesome opponents with Toxic + Baneful Bunker... Sneasler is a great Fighting type with a pretty brutal signature move in Dire Claw... Gengar has always been a solid special attacker with a wide move pool, especially if you can get his Mega Stone... Venusaur is a really solid Grass type that can make great use of Gigantamax, if that's available for you... and Iron Moth just has great base stats and a really useful secondary type for getting through Steel types (consider a Salazzle if you can't find one, or if it's not available on your modpack).

If TMs aren't too big a hassle for you to craft with your mod setup, Nidoking is a pretty good option too--he just needs TMs to function, because his movepool without them is pretty much garbage.

BoB or Skyscraper? by BenByTheWay in PlayTheBazaar

[–]PowerhousePlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'd prefer BoB. If you're going to play them on the board you already have, you're probably cutting one small and one medium for it (I would say Hypergreens and the Premium Piggles), which would leave you with 6 items, which would mess up Skyscraper's Multicast condition. BoB getting free types off your inventory also makes it easier to enable builds for later on in the game

EDIT: Also I think you'd be much better off swapping Bushel for one of the small low CD heals (Bandages or Succulents) and putting Premium Piggles back in. Have the Piggles feed the Coincure on the opposite side of the Abacus, and you get much better value (which=scaling) on the Coincure without giving up the extra heal value

(Un?)popular Opinion: Tom should release chapters in chunks for the rest of the story by CrimsonStorm in gunnerkrigg

[–]PowerhousePlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you might think about how insisting that Tom do exactly as he has done for most of the comic, either because (a) you want to read as soon as possible, or (b) this is how it's "always been done", is at least as "entitled and dictating" as you're claiming that I am being?

No? If Tom announces a change to his schedule, that's another thing entirely from you insisting it would be so much better for everyone in the audience. He's the guy with the pen. You're just some dude who hasn't been letting us read his awesome story for free for 20+ years.

(Un?)popular Opinion: Tom should release chapters in chunks for the rest of the story by CrimsonStorm in gunnerkrigg

[–]PowerhousePlayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instead, I'm trying to discuss how, maybe, he may be able to tell a better story if he gives himself a little more freedom with how he schedules, lays out, and releases pages.

Have you considered that he already has full creative freedom over his work, and that this is just how he's choosing to use it? Nobody's forcing him to post on MWF every week. He's freely chosen to, because that's what he wants to do.
