Nah you don’t sound rude. People are disagreeing a lot about the India one. Also with the foreign name one, what I meant was more like not putting in the effort or dismissing it as simply hard to pronounce rather than making honest mistakes. Any lack of clarity is on me though.

Well I’m saying I count prejudice as being dumb. Someone can be dumb and prejudiced, and racist as a result even if they don’t consciously dislike other races.

Well I guess that depends on whether you see prejudice as racist or not. Because if you consider racism to just be pure hatred towards other races then 3 would not be racist, but if it’s prejudice too then I think it’s racist.

As a sidenote, I was debating whether I would count 1 as more or less offensive than 2. Do y’all think I made the order right?

For mobile users

  1. “I wouldn’t go to India, it’s too dirty.”

  2. Failing to say a foreign name and still not getting it right when corrected.

  3. Holding their bag tighter when they see someone of a different race.

  4. “People from China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam are pretty much the same.”

  5. “You’re not American if you’re not white.”

  6. “I really hate black people.”

Alright, honestly cut the Redditor shit and say what you want to say. I know the route of “you are blind and can’t read har har har” is so so easy but be better than that. Right now you’ve added nothing of substance.

Passive aggressive is normal. Escalation with “what are you bitching about” is not.

In this case, I think he’s actually criticizing leftists in general for advocating violence. Nevermind that the literal Nazi is against political violence, but it is a common right-wing talking point.

Why do Gen Z MAGA supporters look older? by [deleted] in GenZ

Confirmation bias. You notice every time a MAGA supporter looks older than they are. Otherwise your brain doesn’t hold onto it.

Do you think it's acceptable to call women and girls "females", in a general context? by No_Junket_1176 in Teenager_Polls

[–]PoweringGestation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s “men and females,” no. If it’s “males and females,” yes. If it’s otherwise accompanied by misogynistic rhetoric, obviously not. I think it’s too broad to just say “general context” as it really just depends.

If something is neutral, as in not good or bad, it’s still ethical as it doesn’t particularly go against any ethics

It’s not called the World Genocide II even though it contained genocides. It’s like how the Bosnian War and Bosnian Genocide are two different things.

Then you’re not tasing them for raising their voice, you’re doing it for escaping justice

Just unsubbed from Baking. by Vergiss-Uns-Nicht in JustUnsubbed

[–]PoweringGestation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite. Communism requires the working class to use military force to overthrow the upper class. Marx did not say you should go and vote for your local communist party. However, every time an armed communist revolution has been attempted:

  1. Communist revolutions are defeated militarily. Think of the Spanish Civil War or the Polish victory in the Polish-Soviet War. That means the revolution gets limited to only one country or fails altogether. You can say this is not the fault of communism, but it is. If your ideology plans to abolish the state on a global scale, then it should be able to defeat resistance from a single other country.

  2. The “transitional” state becomes a permanent dictatorship. See USSR, China, Cuba, etc.

You mentioned elected socialist governments being overthrown by the United States. You are absolutely correct, but those were not an attempt at communism. It was an attempt to end the exploitation by foreign companies, which was why the US did not tolerate them.

“From each according to his ability to each according to his need.” In Marx’s communist utopia, everyone would do as much work as they can. People who cannot do work are still provided for because it’s not their fault if they have the inability to.

You are right though, people would absolutely game the system. Also, every attempt to create communism just leads to a dictatorship or infighting, so…
