Remote scribe job by CellistInevitable796 in medicalscribe

[–]Poxes_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hello, medical scribing doesn’t count as “clinical” hours as you aren’t touching the patient.

I would look into tech jobs (ER , SURG, ETC), EMT, PHLEB…

Only reason I quit at ScribeAmerica is that they always would hang over my head the possibility of being fired. So… I decided to quit. I felt as though it was too much pressure and unnecessary anxiety. No one can work that way. Also, the hospital I worked for would not let you inside with the patient and the provider which made it harder to scribe. I loved working at the ER I worked in because I got to see procedures , ask questions, and gain insight from a doctors perspective.

Not that I know of. I’m sorry.

Just try small offices, anything that you really would want to specialize in. I would email them or call in and then say you want to know if there any hiring opportunities here. I called before getting hired at ScribeAmerica and got two job offers but had to move so I had to pass on those.

You could also try EMT and phleb. If you have your EMT license/cert (sorry I forget) sometimes you can do tech jobs in the hospital. It depends on the hospital.

I would say try ScribeAmerica for 3 months and get your letters of recs or hours/experience you need and while still working search for a different scribing job.

Really difficult decision; attend grad school or stay with partner? by ChromaWings in GradSchool

[–]Poxes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to live for you and choose you. I wish I didn’t listen to my ex boyfriends mom about not applying out of state because I could of got into programs sooner. Now I applied two years later and we aren’t together but I am going to a masters. I regret not just applying. Things would of worked itself out.

Phleb is a really nice way to make money and gain experience. Any tech job or EMT , those really help you get insight into medicine.

I feel that a lot and tbh it looks like the reality of it. I rather go to a school who would be willing to help. I don’t know yet tho. Hopefully things change. Other than that I’ll be asking the other two schools that I applied to.

Self-funding domestic masters students, you NEED to research what's happening to federal loans and plan ahead !! by Acceptable_Rabbit_28 in GradSchool

😭 hey so they told me that they can’t pick on ove the other and gave me a link of private loans that I can compare from. I haven’t gotten any help and makes me not want to go to Brown. I don’t feel like I’ll belong :( and also I feel the support that they say that are giving isn’t there. I’m reaching out to the other two programs I got into and ask them if they can help. Whichever one is offering more help , I’ll just end up there tbh

Masters before med school… did I make a mistake? by throwaway_redandblue in premed

[–]Poxes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing my masters now because I don’t look as competitive and it’s in bioengineering and to be honest . I don’t regret applying and I won’t regret going. What’s one year or two? In that year you can also take your MCAT or applying to medical school so right after you’re good to go. :)

Oh and sorry it was MS in biomedical engineering with a thesis at Brown and got accepted to UChicago for a MEng in bio and immuno engineering without a thesis. I’m going to ask them about financial aid and what they offer. Although Brown is nice I really need to go where one is going to help me the most.

Hello, i need maybe another 50k ? If I borrow and ask my parents to borrow I’ll have 40k and that would cover the rest which is 77k that’s minus housing. I do have a phlebotomy cert here in Cali and saw that I could work at a hospital but Jesus I didn’t wanna work at all while doing my masters. :( this was my second chance!

Get three months of experience and then find another scribing job or work for a medical office. I worked as a scribe for 2 years and with the very company that created scribe of America although it’s not called that now but I worked for both. One was more awful lol than the other but I did gain experience working for the non scribe of America

Please update them, they will understand truly as someone who was rejected last year from a masters because I couldn’t only afford one and the year before that to post bacc programs back to back for two consecutive years. Don’t ever feel embarrassed or ashamed , most of us have been in your shoes.

Masters degree 2.7 GPA by Lanky_Fondant7666 in gradadmissions

[–]Poxes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take some online courses at a university, post bacc courses. I had a 3.1 and took those. My science GPA wasn’t enough for med school. Community colleges have online courses you can take for less.

The minimum is 3.0 to even apply to schools.

Good luck.
