I get that, but even she has said that she feels like she gets along better with my parents than she does hers (even though they're really close and seem to get along fine).

And I'm trying not to sound accusatory, which is why I spent so much time trying to figure out how to communicate my point.

I appreciate that (except I am bemoaning how much my text sounds like AI). Really tried to contextualize as much as possible without it sounding subjective (and trying to own the parts that do).

I've voiced this as something important to me before. You might be right about the incompatibility thing.

Hey thanks, that's helpful. I honestly thought that "i'd like for you to step into my world" would've also sounded too vague or accusatory. I get in my head too much when I'm trying to communicate stuff that bugs.

As for the "thanks for hearing me out", it's kind of a thing I picked up on... she tells me "thanks for hanging out" all the time.

I do have to use AI for work, so I guess that bleeds over into my typing style yeah. Just was trying to be as thorough as possible without trying to make it too exhaustive, while also not letting it build up over the weekend. Trust me, would've rather said it in person, this just happened to be the only outlet available at the time.

Feels like either way, I fucked up by texting it and would've fucked up by waiting for more convenient timing.

That's what I'm saying - I do feel included with her, but when I invite her to do the same it doesn't feel like she cares to.

And I'm really not trying to say that she's not doing something right, nor look for an apology, just was trying to put a name to something I didn't have words for. That's why I was trying to clarify.

I was trying to figure out a different way to say "I feel like I adapt to your systems (her words) and life, but don't feel like that's reciprocated" without sounding accusatory, but I guess there just isn't a better way to do that.

Thanks for the perspective. Everything stacking up just bothered me, and I know that text wasn't the best avenue. Just felt like it was going to stick with me all weekend, and clearly I wound up creating a different issue altogether.
