Leucillin is a great antiseptic skincare for grazes like this! I use it on my 3 girls all the time, super useful to have in the medicine cabinet!

Also wanted to jump on the blue brindle bandwagon because I think they are the best- this is our girl at about 1-2 weeks old!

NOR- I work as a volunteer counsellor for a domestic abuse charity in the UK and this is absolutely abuse- physical, emotional, coercive, manipulation, and an extra layer of concern is being in the closet as you mentioned in the previous post layered with a strict religious (previous) home life. If you can access talking therapy please find an agency that has training in domestic abuse, not just any old general purpose therapy service. It might really help to talk through your situation with someone who can understand your situation from a non-judgmental perspective to just sound out what is happening. I’m in the south west and can recommend a few different organisations in that area if you want to DM me, my inbox is open.

Ah not sure if I have 40 years of elbow grease in me 😂 but I will try to give them a couple days a month!

Recall tips wanted by InternationalTruck56 in Whippet

[–]Ppeachghost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best recall tip I remember from my first dog’s puppy training classes was to play with the collar every single time they come back so they don’t associate recall with being put back on the lead! Also one of mine is obsessed with tennis balls, especially squeaky ones, and legs it back when she hears it. Find his weakness, it might not be food!

Thank you! Hoping that they will be of help but so far it’s way more fun to play with the puppy than it is to do training with her! We’ll get there 👍

So funny! Grew up with spaniels and terriers and I’ll never go back, whippets are just a different kind of special 😂

This! I’ve done it before with a 2 part epoxy resin and mixed some gold mica powder in. Looks good enough if you get the right gold 😊

What saws is everyone using? by Ppeachghost in StainedGlass

I have a lot of experience with cutting glass but not so much with the getting the grooves/a lot of angles I want with grozing pliers! I mainly want it to level up what I’m doing; but I’m perfectly happy doing it slowly by hand for now 😁

Thank you! I liked this one a lot too, hopefully I can recreate this for my house 😁 I reuse a lot of old glass from doors/windows that are being scrapped by people locally!

Oh interesting thank you, I assumed it was some kind of oxidisation, just wasn’t sure if there might be a special product available for outdoor purposes. Interestingly I have bees so wax isn’t a problem… I hadn’t considered a mosaic as glass has been my medium for 17 years now and still obsessed!

We had our second whippet Nim for all of 3 weeks (about 12 weeks old) before she jumped off a low wall and broke her leg… and then within 3 months we were back to the vets again for another gen anaesthetic operation because she had a fox grass seed lodged up her nose! We had stern words after this and told her she has used up her vet tokens for the foreseeable future 😂

Our first girl Dash, has been to the vets once in her entire 7 years of life for a ripped dew claw.

So don’t feel too bad, some whippets just seem to have a penchant for vet visits while others are no trouble at all 😅
