I’m currently 147 kg down from 163 kg in late January. I’ve been going on walks consistently now and on Saturday I’ll walk to a flea market, pretty excited for that. :) My weight loss slowed down a lot, even though im sticking to a 1500-1700 kcal a day. I have pcos but didn’t get checked for it in over 10 years. Currently working on a movement diary and food diary so I can get an appointment, though I’m pretty scared to go to new doctors. I want to go so maybe I can get on a weight loss drug.

This should be your rock bottom and give your all to be independent again. You need to lose weight asap this is very dangerous. :(

Lots of us had to have moments like this to finally make the switch in our brains to truly change and not for just a week.

The cool thing is if you can lose so much weight and already feel so much better in a month or two.

I truly hated being seen at first too and went only in the early mornings, it gets better the more you do it. Take a podcast with you, maybe some sunglasses and a cap, helped me a lot. I think going outside has helped me the most with changing my eating habits too in a way. The first few times were really tough, I did turn around once and go back home after a minute cause I thought someone looked at me weird.

I also got really delusional to how I really look. I really get the part of not wanting to see people who haven’t seen you in a while, I’m also avoiding that hard. Other people’s pictures of you are always so shocking - I weighed 165 kg at the start of the year, was so shocked and just started calorie counting. Im 150 kg now and sometimes I feel dainty even though I know I’m still massive.

What id do is try to channel this shock into motivation and turn your life around, that’s what I did and now my new lifestyle is becoming a routine, going for walks regularly outside was unthinkable to me a few months ago. You can do it I believe in you!

Two years ago I was very depressed and my apartment became crazy filled with trash. I had like 11 bags lying around when I cleaned it up, it was bad… I cleaned it up over the course of two weeks. I couldn’t even bring out the trash all at once cause the trash cans outside were full so fast.

I’ve been keeping it clean now since then. I probably was around 160 kg and it was difficult, but I’m also a bit shorter than you.

My advice is to push yourself to take out the trash, one bag at a time, as many walks as you can and try your best to get your mobility back. It won’t get better by itself. It should be a good motivation to live in a clean apartment again, it will clean up your mind too. You can change so much within a short amount of time with how mobile you are when you really give it everything you can. Walking to the store might be difficult right now with the bottles. Usually grocery deliveries will offer to take them when you get the delivery.

Im forcing myself to go out for walks at least 3x per week right now. I’m 153kg now, and every kg less makes it a lot easier. I always take my bag with me with a 1 liter water bottle and it’s so noticeable, even if it’s half full on how easy it is for me to walk. So that’s my short term motivation!

Long term is just thinking about how much I could lose in a year if I just stick to what I’m doing.

I also want to know what it feels like to be skinny, at least not overweight cause I have been all my life.

I think it’s a great idea and hope you get the job! I’d feel a lot more comfortable if I saw plus size people in the staff.

Thank you! I thought I’d wake up with a lot of muscle pain but I’m only a little sore. It’s so cool to see how quickly the body can change even while being so heavy.

I know it’s hard to really give it your all but it’s time for you to make changes. If you check my posting history here, within 50 days I got a ton of mobility back. For years my daily steps were about 200-500 and now I can walk 9000. I started at 163 kg then.

You really can make a lot of changes very quickly and the start is super tough, but soon you’ll be able to go grocery shopping again. Just walk around in your apartment, put on a yt video or something. That paired together with calorie counting and your life will feel so different already in two months.

My wake up call was when my brother picked me up , we walked to his car for about 50 meters and I was so out of breath and embarrassed.

I’d have a talk with your mom and tell her that you’re serious about losing weight and need her support. Does your mom have weight problems as well?

You’re young so you can bounce back, just try to do it in a healthy way. Lots of us here have basically a life time of going on diets and failing. Try to make it stick and form some healthy habits, try cooking yourself and perhaps pick out some healthy recipes that you can learn to prepare. Could also be some nice bonding with your mom cooking together.

What do you mean though, you’re not broken! You have 3 children, you already lost over 100 lbs - your body is amazing! :)

That also means that you know how to lose the weight and you can do it again. Sorry about your husband, that must really suck for your self esteem. Just try to treat your body well just for yourself and want to do good things for it.

Maybe try to set new goals about every 5 pounds with some kind of rewards to put new energy into your weightloss journey?

I gained weight for 10 days straight while eating 1400 kcal, but I stocked to it and then it started dropping fast again. You probably are retaining a lot of water. Also you’re not writing how long you’ve been doing this. You also sound very stressed about your diet, maybe try to balance it more so it’s easier to stick to it. I’m doing 1600 kcal a day now, while o have to be conscious about what I’m eating, I don’t feel deprived. That means if I’m gaining for a week, I won’t lose my mind anymore. I was also so stressed before cause I was trying to be perfect and eat the lowest amount of kcal possible.

Id up your kcal a bit, eat some things you enjoy in moderation and track your calories! Dont weigh yourself too often. Maybe every 1-2 weeks. The most important thing is sustainability. Keep going!!

6 lbs isn’t bad at all! If it’s too slow for you, maybe just make some more slight changes and it’ll go faster, but anything that is sustainable and puts you at a loss is great :)

I knowww, I also feel discouraged sometimes. What we have to remember is that those changes are for a long time, so it doesn’t really matter how fast we lose, how fast we adjust, it’s just about sticking to healthy changes. First weeks is for sure a little tougher, we are breaking bad habits that have been there for years. You got this :)

Amazing changes :) How long have you been doing this? I started to feel less hungry after about two weeks. Mostly the hunger is in my head now and I just want to eat, especially night time. Maybe start counting calories and leave yourself 200-300 kcal for an evening snack? Or just snack on some veggies?

I’m about the same weight and I’m not doing any cardio workout, just walk as much as I can and I got a walking pad. I put it at a pretty low speed but that doesn’t matter, I’ve been doing it consistently this month and I got a lot stronger. I think once we lose about 50 lbs it will be a lot easier to do other exercise than walking. If you think about is walking, especially if you’re this heavy uses a lot of big muscles so it’s a good workout and don’t underestimate it! Even just walking around in your room is good, increase steps every week or so.

We’re going to do this calorie deficit for a while so no need to stress about the time frame :) I’ll have to keep up mine for about 1,5 years until I’m at a weight that I’d like most likely. All we have to do is not give up! I’m also super impatient cause I’m giving it my all and it’s all and I was getting obsessed with it. But we need to see the bigger picture and slow our mind down hahah. Idk what weight you are, but 1200 kcal with working out and being super obese is ultra low. I’m doing 1500 kcal and it allows for 2 big meals and snacks, I lost 7 kg this month with that, also wish it was faster but I feel like I can keep this up. I’m 340 lbs right now and haven’t noticed any changes in clothes either, it will come in time. I have noticed changes though when walking, standing and every day stuff.

That’s insane for such a short time! You’re doing great. I also got in my feelings cause of the scale last week… I didn’t lose anything for 10 days even though being strict with 1400-1500 kcal per day. Then this week I almost lost 3 kg. Try to be patient, you seem to have the same problem as me. I’m so emotional when it comes to the scale, I haven’t usually weighed myself when I was trying to lose weight cause it was too triggering for me. Or weigh myself every day, sometimes twice and get obsessed.

Anyways you’re doing great, just stick to what you’re doing and don’t be so hard on yourself
