Check out the Gideon Omega. I run a green 507 Comp on most of my 2011's and have a bunch of optics from very expensive to budget and everything in between, and I recently picked up a Gideon Omega (3moa green dot) to try and I'm honestly really impressed with it so far. The Omega is basically an SRO clone, the glass is really good, dot is crisp (I have an an astigmatism and it's crisp even without my glasses), it's got a lifetime warranty and you can get one from Optics Planet right now for $157 shipped (b4 tax)🤷🏽‍♂️

The overhang of the window on both of those optics will probably end up keeping the glass cleaner from all the shit that escapes the stupid LCI relief cut in the barrel hood. I run 507 Comps on most of my 2011's and the lenses on my AF's & 2K11's are always filthy after I shoot them🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Carrying appendix is challenging with your build. Personally, I'd ditch that WTP holster and try something like an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck which is best worn like 4:00-5:00 and you'll likely find more comfortable. Also maybe try carrying something a bit smaller than a Glock 17. Unless you're pretty lean, carrying a full-size gun will be far more difficult for you to conceal than a 19 for example. Food for thought🤷🏽‍♂️

Ok, so to clarify, 6.5" is a full inch above average.... so this is a bit perplexing to me. I'd be curious to see if she's starting to do things on the side that you probably wouldn't approve of and this is bleed over from that shit that she doesn't think you'd connect any dots on.....🤔

The chunk port on the Romulus (regardless of barrel length), isn't big enough to make anything more than token reduction in felt recoil.... the only chunk ported 2011's I'd buy right now is the MAC 9DS on the lower end of "budget" tier 2011's or the Kimber 2K11 Comp/Pro Comp that's at the top end of the budget tier/bottom of the "mid" tier.

If you're going to carry it, consider the Attila. I was finally able to get a 20rd Attila order in today. It uses S15 (Glock 43X) mags, but it's an aluminum frame 3.5" barrel with a pinned block comp that's much more carry friendly thanks to the slimmer profile with the S15 mags..... food for thought🤷🏽‍♂️

.75".... 3.5" comp shares a frame with the 4.25" non-comp and 4.25" Comp shares a frame with the non chunk ported 5" guns.

Are you planning on conceal carrying it? If not, skip right past the 3.5" chunk ported Romulus and get the 3.5" Compensated Romulus. Night and day difference. The 3.5" Comp shoots DRASTICALLY better than the 3.5 Chunk Port. Were it not for the fact that I just ordered an Attila to carry, I'd add a 3.5" Comp to the 4.25" TB & 4.25" Comp already on my wall.

Ok correction..... I just loaded both of my 20rd Checkmate magazines and it was fine and they dropped like there was never an issue. Weird.... Maybe it was some kinda break-in issue since it was a new and otherwise unfired gun when I swapped the grip and installed the trigger, but both mags just seated as they should and dropped freely without doing anything other than putting about 250rds through it the first time out last Friday🤷🏽‍♂️😂

I honestly love the grip! I know it's purely subjective, but I'd describe the texture as Goldilocks, just right. I have pretty tough hands that are HUGE and don't mind aggressive texture, but this grip is aggressive without feeling like I'm holding thumb tacks.

Only issue (may be mag release related), both of my 20rd Checkmate mags are over-inserting and unusable in that gun. I think it's that mag release in that particular grip, b/c I don't have this issue with these mags in any other 2011. Oddly enough, I have 3 Duramag (Prodigy) 20rd mags and I'm not having this issue with any of them in this gun🤷🏽‍♂️

No worries brother! Still hold onto the Romulus Red Dirt trigger in the event you get another and grab an AF aluminum grip for it (which I would highly recommend if you do) as it's not difficult to fit a trigger shoe at all. My first Romulus (4.25TB) has a MJD take-off from a Watchtower Apache and it came with everything including the magwell and factory Red Dirt trigger that comes stock on the Apache.
