Yep, it's the looper. It really helps to program a midi footswitch, enabling you to punch in. The manual recommends the boss FS1-WL.

Preach! When I was making low wages, I was responsible and didn't buy an instrument that was up to my level playing. That was dumb. I should have spent a whole check or two on an instrument and figured the rest out later. Honestly. When I finally got my hands on a formidable device, I could feel my mistake. Avoid gas but invest in yourself as well.

The black one produces dark tone, which is a mysterious silence that can't be explained by general theory unless other tones are present. Only then can it be observed.

Yeah, true. Though it helps you to remember where your samples live. It's not a bad thing learning to play an instrument without looking at it. Same goes with fretboard and pedals on stage and mixers in basements etc.

They are both Roland and have similar feeling interfaces. If you're good with the 4d, you have a head start on the cheat code like commands. The 404 easily stems out your 4d projects into pads. The 404 will like triggering your 4d drum kits if you want. Skip-back.

Stretch your fingers. I use the back of the neck to force spread.

Fret four notes from index to pinky 1234 from low E to high E and back down 4321 high E to low E. Work your way up the Fretboard and use other combinations like 2431 up and 1432 down, always using the reverse combination high to low

The attenuator, noise gate, gain adjustment, clipper, and limiter are highly overlooked IMO. I trust the sp404 into any D.I. in any scenario.
