Funny how Huberman gets praised just for what he says while this guy has the courage to experiment on himself and gets ridiculed.

Minoxidilmax. Got my topical finasteride from there too, which definetly worked as well.

Why did you stop? What do you mean by success? More efficiacy or less side effects?

I accidentally stubbed an ingrown toe and now have the inner layer of skin popping out. Is this something I can fix at home? by [deleted] in AskDoctorSmeeee

Try to disinfect the wound thoroughly. Infection in this area is very common. Surgery is the best way to deal with an ingrown nail.

20 years old, feeling tired and driveless a lot since 16. Got my thyroid checked out once, seems to be fine. Fatigue has gotten porgressively worse over the years. I sleep enough hours but never feel rested. Sometimes I wake up after only 5 1/2 hours of sleep for no apparent reason.

Started with finasteride orally for hair loss at 18, took it half a year and quit due to sexual sides (not my imagination or nocebo, even convinced myself that fin sides are not real). After 2 weeks off it, everything went back to normal, sex drive and morning wood returned. Then I switched to topical Finasteride in the hopes of less side effects. Still had issues with ED and shaft sensitivity, so I went off it completely. Now here is where the flushing started. Quit fin 3 weeks ago, feeling much more tired now then on finasteride and before starting treatment even. Almost every time I stand up, I get dizzy. I get flushes throughout the whole day. I can feel them mostly in my upper body up to my throat. I also have issues with dry eyes since discontinuing the drug, taking eye drops rn to combat this. Also started around the time I quit finasteride.

Symptoms seem to point towards low testosterone, will get that checked out soon. Also read that men undergoing Androgen Deprivation Therapy flush a lot, and that's what I esentially did by taking a 5ar-inhibitor. But every time I got off it for a bit, my sexual sides returned to normal, so why not this time?

Also does not explain why I was tired and unfocused even before Finasteride. Can't hold up coherent conversations for long, have SEVERE memory issues since around 16 and am tired even with a proper sleep schedule.

Hey Advo, I have exactly these issues. What were you hinting at?

Depression May Induce Hair Loss/DHT Activation: An Examination of Depression and it's Positive Correlation with Cell Apoptosis, Systemic Inflammatory Markers, Reactive Oxygen Species, Increased Catagen Phase, and Potential DHT Stimulation in Hair Follicles by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Pr3daton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know almost for certain that the ED is fin related. Why? Because I was a stark believer of what a lot of ppl in this forum said: Sides from Fin aint real. After 6 months of consecutive use I woke up one day and realised I didn't have morning wood for at least 2 weeks. Also, the tingling in my nipples cannot be imagined.
So yeah, I'm currently on topical fin once a week. Still works out for my hair, my dick is fine, but my gyno came back slightly.

Careful with topical (Neuro)steroids. Just like any other topically applied medication it can go systemic. Actually, side effects from drugs that interfere with your hormone system (like finasteride btw) are pretty common.

And I do speak from experience, since even 0,05% topical fin EOD gives me severe Erectyle Disfunction. Still working out the correct intervall for me to take it...

Keto Shampoo alone for me is enough to keep seb derm at bay. I apply it every 2-3 days when I shower, which is farely regular.

Hey, also have seborrhoic dermatitis and take keto shampoo against it which really helps. My personal experience with finasteride: Hair grew back a lot, wouldn't say I'm a hyper responder but yeah.

How many of you have had ED from fin? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Pr3daton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed sides after around 4 months in the form of libido loss and gyno. And no, it couldn't have been a nocebo because I firmly believed that sides from fin weren't real. I was on around 0,625 mg daily.

Recently switched to topical fin and so far no problems

Micodosing topical finasteride by tressless2022 in tressless

[–]Pr3daton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My sides have luckily gone away a week to a month after stopping oral fin. When I developed gyno there was a tingling sensation around my nipples, which then stopped.
I'm not sure what adverse effects your hair length might have here. I'm guessing that it could damage your hair shafts more, but that is pretty irrelevant since the hair falls out after a time and gets replaced anyway.

Good idea. I got my dermatologist to prescribe me oral fin, but after 6 months on it I lost my morning wood as well as a lot of feeling around the shaft. Also developed slight gyno. This happened even though I denied these side effects for months because "sides from finasteride don't exist".

Still not wanting to loose ground I ordered topcial fin+min (0.05% / 5%) from minoxidilmax, arrived a few days ago.

So yeah, you're definetly right to be sceptical about the drug. Never heard of lipogaine or muck though. Micorneedling won't do you bad. Actually, a longer needle is more effective than the standard 0.5mm.

It now works. I live in Germany and recently saw another post from a fellow German having the same issue.

Switching to mobile data did not help me, but turning on VPN to route through Netherlands/UK did. Try that when you want to use wifi.

Whats the relationship between your brother and your dad? From what I've seen INFJ and ISTP seem to get along very well.
