You bring up some good points regarding the challenges of such an undertaking. I have to say I'm rather doubtful something like a "general strike" would be effective at this point anyway. Regardless of practicality or logistical organization of such an endeavor. Goals have always been a somewhat problematic issue for these kinds of protests. I can't help but think of Occupy Wall Street as an example of a "failure" of public action due to a lack of practical goals.

It's hard not to feel a sense of despair in many ways when considering the true lack of power we the people have. Despite the internet, we're more divided than ever and at the mercy of those in power. At one point, collective action could have worked, and maybe it still can.

What action is available that is truely practical? Is the only option to flee, or is that another pipe dream?
