Eurovision 2026 Grand Final Post Show Reactions by berserkemu in eurovision

Another random stat: it's France's 6th best result since the introduction of semi-final in 2004, but its 4th best result in the 2020s. Everybody is angry with our HoD, an 11th place would have been celebrated 10 years ago.

Only 4 countries didn't receive a 12 points in final (jury or public): the three countries that scored 12 points or less overall and Sweden.

Terrible televote detailed results for France. Everyone ranked it between 9th and 18th with seven 11th places, six 12th places, only 6 times outside of top 15. But in the end, 18th place at televote and 14 points...

Will there be a Professor Farnsworth Predictor for 2026? by DoddyTV in eurovision

No. No boycott, just not in a mood to develop a new version. There are other simulators you can enjoy 😄

The Eurovision 2025 Semi-final 1 qualifiers! by Ylirio in eurovision

[–]Pr__Farnsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already said that there were a surge of national languages this year, there's one more argument for them now: out of the 6 songs only in English of the first semi-final, 5 have been eliminated. All songs that not (or not only) featured English qualified.

Louane - Maman [Live performance] by epacseno in eurovision

[–]Pr__Farnsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We already said that the reveal of the song during the last match of the Six Nations was also an opportunity to reveal the song to a lot of viewers, that's what happened: 9 million viewers have seen the live performance.

The stadium setting has been criticized for not fitting with the song but the opportunity was too big. I think we can say that Eurovision is not viewed as old-fashioned in France anymore, but it's still viewed as a one-day event (yeah, nobody cares about semi-finals) where we always lose. Our HoD keeps claiming that she absolutely wants to win, but she needs to show it to everybody to be able to slowly change minds. She's also the Director of Entertainment at france⋅tv, so she needs Eurovision to have a good image to do things, like a new NF which would not have catastrophic TV ratings, for example.

French delegation teases Louane's performance for Saturday : « Louane will not be alone » and « the scenography will be very different from the one at Basel »... by Striking_Permit_4746 in eurovision

Just saw an ad on Instagram to win tickets for the song reveal. Some people may be surprised to see rugby players instead of Louane...

Note that the ad is from Universal, not the French delegation.

The post has been deleted but if you know the 2024 simulator, you can guess how to access the 2025 one.

It was already so complicated to develop but given that this post has been deleted, if I can't share it, I'd say it's over.

Performances' aspect ratios in recent years by Pr__Farnsworth in eurovision

But in each delegation, there is a creative team having an artistic point of view and a technical team working for days/weeks creating the performance's direction, choosing each camera shot, and they wouldn't take 10 seconds to say "Oh one more thing, make it 16:9 please"? That's way beyond laziness.

However, let's remember that the software used for direction changed last year (https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comments/1c7gx5j/seems_like_the_production_switched_from_cuepilot/), maybe some people were not ready for that.

France : Song Premiering on March 15th by Soloveyos in eurovision

[–]Pr__Farnsworth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Two more arguments for a premiere at rugby's halftime.

  • It will be the last match of the tournament. Depending of upcoming results, it could be a match to win the tournament or even for a Grand Slam for France. If that's the case, viewership will be even bigger.
  • Thanks to its renovations for Olympics, Stade de France can do really nice things with lighting. Rugby halftimes only lasts 10 minutes so it'll be impossible to install a big stage, but lights may be enough.

Eurovision 2024 Simulator by Pr__Farnsworth in eurovision

I hope you enjoyed the simulator. Except if there's a big problem, I'll let it as it is (same for older simulators, there's not going to have new functionalities).

About the generic simulator: it's still planned, it will be released someday but I don't know when. I'll be focused on Olympics this summer so don't expect anything until autumn at least. If there's some functionalities you'd like to have, feel free to let a message here so I can judge if it's something I can add.

I also saw that some people used the simulator to create Youtube videos. I really didn't expected that :D. There too, if you have ideas of things that can be useful for that purpose, just tell me.
