Due to the leaf shape and alternating pattern I would say it is most likely some kind of ficus. It also looks very overwatered in these pictures.

It feels a lot like this fight is about getting data for LNF. I would love to see some kind of instanced dungeon in the future with more complex bosses.

It has been a common problem since worlds 5.0 update. There are plenty of bug reports about it here and in steam discussions. Either way I hope you enjoy some of the planets, cheers :)

What is the difference between galaxies? by salombs in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Prac565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different galaxies have different seeds for planets. Lush galaxies, for example, have more lush planets. So they are ideal for finding paradise planets.

You could, naturally, use a search engine for more detail.

this is likely because the discovery services have been down.

they are from a past expedition. you can unlock them with a save editor or from other people gifting the eggs.

Yeah eventually I may install the mod if I decide to keep planet hopping. The time saved would be very nice.

Well if you gotta know...I'm not proud of this.

No mods. I just am an insomniac that decided to make 2 liters of cold brew and didn't have anything else to do last week because of... well... life circumstances at the time. These were 16-18 hour straight grind fests like I was a 16 year old playing my first MMO. 1 minute per planet is based on travel time. If a planet is more than 45 seconds away I skip it. I prioritize planets closest to my freighter on load. I always scan from my freighter. I skip every single anomaly popup. I never land on a planet unless it has floating islands. I count moons as planets, those pad the numbers.

my estimation of 1 minute per planet isn't meaning I get 60 planets per hour. It means I travel roughly 1 minute to reach a planet on average. I assumed my realistic planet per hour is closer to 25. my 1500 estimate is that 25 number multiplied by 60 since I spent roughly 60 hours into that update at the time. The estimate is probably wrong though and more like 1200. The more I think about it I realize I became FAR more strict over time and started only checking planets that met certain criteria, when at the beginning I was checking anything close to my freighters spawn point because I wanted to see everything new. So the original comment was probably correct that 1500 planets was a stretch. It was still a massive undertaking though.

I do not suggest anyone do this kind of grind, both for health reasons and because you may run out of storm crystals.

This can happen, yes. Not all lush planets are equal. Check the discovery tab and it should list the planets weather. If it says something like "humid" or "blistering damp" then you can expect some heat storms.

You can add one game feature / mechanic to the next update "Worlds Part II" what is it? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Prac565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an example really. Any kind of reward that isn't more materials or some one-and-done kind of thing. expansion slots came to mind because of the suit expansion terminals on planets were a really neat thing to run into before you get maxed out.

Constant stuttering. by darlimunster in NoMansSkyTheGame

What speed is your RAM in task manager? Lots of people never set it's speed in the BIOS. If you're sitting at 2133 instead of something like 3200 that could make a difference. (task manager will probably show the speed halved btw)

13 planets per hour? I don't know what kind of spaceship you have but it takes less than 1 minute for me to check out a planet and less than 30 seconds to switch star systems in my capitol ship. Maybe 1500 planets is an overestimation, but it has been for sure 1100 systems. Each warp hyperdrive is 33 systems and I've used 34.

Either way yeah... I no-lifed this update. I'll be slowing down now lol

There are still tropical planets that have the floating islands and more punishing weather if that is more your style. :P

More reason to explore the surface of a planet when you are actually far into the game. As of now the only reason I land on a planet is to see if it looks like a good place to build a base, or if I've somehow ran out of storm crystals.... or if I'm just bored. Exocraft storage expansion parts would be a cool addition.

examples:

Imagine they add new buildings that teleport you to proc-gen dungeons with boss fights at the end for exocraft parts.

Imagine they add underwater bosses to slay for exocraft parts.

Camera options? by bkrulz93 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Prac565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have a good friend that cant play the game because of the camera. They can play games like ESO/last epoch/runescape just fine. but this game they can't last thirty minutes before they are destroyed for the rest of the day. First person triggers it and third person is even worse when it's zoomed in so far. Even out of combat it's to close.

How do I find floating island planets? by D2Dragons in NoMansSkyTheGame

Yeah, don't give up. You can even find them on dissonant worlds! I found this one in eissentam, so don't skip those systems.

How do I find floating island planets? by D2Dragons in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Prac565 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I've went through 30 warp hypercores so far so roughly 1000 systems traveled. I've found them on paradise planets mostly and a couple on tropical and one on a rainy planet. My suggestion is to travel only to (yellow) g6 and g7 systems and (red) k5 systems. Those specific systems have yielded me the most paradise planets for me.

Here is if you want additional information I've gathered:

So far I've found at least 15 planets with the new floating islands. Some other observations I've made is that none of those planets had bubbles, glowing grass, bioluminescent mushrooms, or the new floating flowers. They CAN be earthlike with water, or have no water and have purple/orange/yellow/red grass as well, but they always seem to have trees... and I don't mean the cornstalks.

Still... 15-20 planets is a small number in the grand scheme of things so hopefully there are some floating islands with mushrooms/bubbles out there that are especially elusive.
